Ah cool! I really love your art so I'm gonna try some of these :D Mind if I posted my results? It's cool if you don't want me too.

HisMrs: You can post your results in an art thread, if you like. :) I'd rather the results not get posted in this thread.

Excellent tutorials, I use some (or all) of these methods in almost all my favourite pieces that I've done. Really excellent stuff Brit, thanks!

You are absolutely lovely for sharing these! We totally need a thread just devoted to the various tutorials and resources that we find around the net, so that we can share them with each other and have them all in one place, easily accessible! :)

---------- Post added at 11:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:32 PM ----------

Yeah, I could do that. Over the last few weeks, I've come across some pretty good tutorials and resources that I think people might like. And I know that I've had a few other's share some with me, as well. :)

HisMrs: You're welcome! We used to have a thread for resources like this one but it was old and outdated... Maybe you could PM BEG about starting a new one?

Great. Making textures is something I've wanted to try for some time now.
It's so much cooler making your own instead of using others. :)

Will take a look at this asap.

your fanart is absolutely fantastic. The best I've ever seen IMO. Are the texture packs free to use for contests on this site? or solely personal, never to be published, use?

Aww, thank you so much! I am still learning, every single day, but I definitely love that you appreciate the work. :)

The resources on my site are free to use as long as it's not for commercial use and as long as I am credited. So you can use it in wallpapers/banners for here or wherever!

It could be an issue that my version of Photoshop and yours are not compatible. I use CS4...

I added a Gradient Pack tutorial today, as well as updated the links, since I switched everything on my site to PHP from HTML.

THANK YOU!!! I have two questions off the bat, but don't think you have to hurry to answer them or anything. At your leisure, Mrs. :)

    1. Brushes in Photoshop (I have 6): How exactly do you USE them? I get how to dl and load them into the program. I kind of fumbled through a tutorial I found and made it work, but I'm not sure it was the most efficient way. I made a layer, color filled it, made another layer with a different color and used a brush. I couldn't figure out how to brush yet another color over it, though.

    2. Icons - how does one make them? I didn't see a tutorial on them, unless I'm completely blind. The contest intrigued me, but I have no clue how to make them.

Ok, that's it. I'm just excited about this stuff!

Hmmm... Well everyone uses brushes in different ways, honestly. I mostly use them to create textures with these days. There are ways to use them with masks and things, though, to edit pictures. However, I'm not good with masks, so I don't use them very often.

I hardly ever make icons, but I can try to make an icon tutorial for you if you would like. :)

I'd love to see how yours turned out! :) Post it here!
