Is "She" the most pointless episode of the series?

Well they changed the curse from 'perfect happiness' to 'sex/orgasm' in order to get Angel off BtVS and kept it going like that so they wouldn't have to write romance for Angel. Which was a good thing considering they went the opposite way with Buffy who could really used have much more single time. Until the WB demanded love interests for Angel, hence Cordy/Angel until that was shot down by Whedon.

DB has plenty of chemistry with other actors. Why does only sexual chemistry count? He's got plenty with SMG, Eliza Dushku, Julie Benz, Emily Deschanel etc. I won't even get into all the HoYay around Angel's character. And who cares about raw animal sex? Is this porn?

I would rate Sense & Sensitivity and Expecting lower than She. But overall it's a very good season.

Their both rubbish too, but I still think She is on a whole nother level of bad. Besides those dances, and maybe the coffee beans going everywhere at the end, name me one other good thing about it? And please don't say the cell phone gag, please don't say the cell phone gag?:D

Hey, it was cheesy but fun - and I can sympathize with Angel cuz there is a reason why i have a dumb phone. I like it better than the coffee bean gag but them I can't imagine falling like that without severe pain so I wince there.

Personally, I liked the wee bit of world building it did. The dimensional portals, which are a bigger part of AtS lore than BtvS, Cordy's annoyance, 'when did they put in portals?' is great. It set up that kind of stuff, this world is not just demons bad, humans good. There are many variations and you don't know who to trust. Season 1 did a lot of set up in that sense.

And I thought Bai Ling was pretty convincing as her character, I would have liked to have seen her reappear.

Besides the fact that the phone gag is just too random and out of place in what is at least trying to be a serious episode (I did say trying because its actually just boring;)), it just drags on way too much, and is overly telegraph. The reason the coffee bean gag works is because its just a cheesy gag at the end of the episode which does have some form of character to it. It does the gag and then moves on, it doesn't destract from the episode.

Yeah and sadly outside of David Lynch films, portals are mostly dull plot devices.

I think she's a good actress, but is cripled by a terrible writing and not having any chemstry with DB.

Even though they were never "officially" a couple, Angel and Lilah were AMAZING together. Really. It was always amusing when he snuck up on her. :D

As for "She," I think watching it destroyed a few brain cells. Such a STUPID episode. Hated it.

Am with you on both counts!

Love the film noir vibe between Angel and Lilah.

I watched this again yesterday. I skipped through most of the scenes - particularly those with Angel and Jhera or whatever her name is. I just can't stand watching them. I genuinely think this is probably the worst episode out of both Buffy and Angel. The only one I can think of which rivals it - off the top of my head - is that terrible, terrible episode with the Mexican wrestler storyline in s5.

Great chemistry between David and Stephanie! Very impressive acting as well.

Also, Angel (and Supernatural) have the best outtakes, hands down.

There are a few others in S1 which come pretty close imo such as Expecting, and some from later seasons, but yeah I do think this is a tough one to beat in that reguard;)

Her debut in the Ring gets way overlooked. I know her role feels a bit underwritten and out of context, but she lights the screen up from the moment she appears, and she doesn't even have to do much. Love the scene between the two back at W&H:)
