I don't see how killing off Oz in season 2 would've worked since he was still a relatively new character. Why would people care about him? Jenny had been around since season 1 and therefore was more familiar to the audience so her death had more impact.

Angelus had been described as one of the most evil Vampires ever, to make him believable he had to do something horrific (Drawing pictures of Buffy or Killing
Willows goldfish really didn't cut it). Killing a full time character was the only way to get this across....
Although Killing Oz would have been a shock, the fans really felt for Jenny.... & for Giles.

She would have become a regular in S3 - the way Oz became a regular. I wish she had lived. The show needed more adult characters.

I'm one of those really heartless people who didn't really care that much for Jenny anyway, so to be honest I'm glad she didn't become a regular! :p

I love having Jenny on show as felt like cast was complete having two older female characters as recurring characters Jenny/Joyce/

Even thought actress playing Jenny was younger then character.

It depends if the character took off with the fans in part.

I liked Jenny and did think there was room for further growth but can understand why she was killed off too.

If you look at the direction of Giles post-season 3 then I think keeping Jenny would have made sense. Whereas if he had stayed as Buffy's official Watcher and with TWC then maybe Jenny would have more of a distraction to his character.

I think most of the love i had for Jenny was purely for the Giles and her aspect. It was lovely seeing Giles get romantically close to her. When he found out about her it broke my heart </3

I'm with you. Think they made for a great couple, and its a shame they weren't given longer (though of course that is classic Joss;)). Think their differences added to one another but they connected on enough things too. Think Jenny was a very appealing character.

You know, I often wondered if Jenny could of gotten the Tara treatment and been made a regular in Passion. lol

I honestly wished Jenny did stick around longer. She often gets ignored or barely talked about much, and the actress has fallen off the face of the earth.

Tara and Jenny have similar stories:

Start as outsiders and gradually become more involved with the Scoobies
Both have a secret they hide from the Scoobies which eventually puts them all in danger
Both break up with their love interest and distance themselves from the Scoobies
Both killed just as they start to get back together with their love interest.

I don't see how unless they changed actresses or killed her off mid-late S3. Since the actress went on an all religious bend around that time.
