Haha, what do you think of the game in general? Its one of many still sitting on my backlog.

I'm an avid fan of anything Tomb Raider but that game was a disappointment. It didn't come close to the previous game which was really good. Also, they eliminated some of the best features of the Tomb Raider game (the reboot I mean), yet copied a lot of stuff from the game too.

What did you feel were the most disappointing elements? It is kinda interesting how abruptly (with a few upgrades) Lara turns from weak to a superkiller.

I think the other game was easier to play, more practical. I missed all the documents, relics and things we had to find. That was fun.
I though that Lara would develop an amazing friendship with Jacob's daughter, but she never did. The creators missed a chance to give Lara a great female friendship. I was constantly afraid they would pair up Lara and Jacob though...
Like you said, the plot wasn't as good, neither were the locations. Tomb Raider had amazing camps, like Shanty Town and the beach.
I also didn't like the missions.

I don't know, I guess overall it wasn't as fun.

This already happened in Tomb Raider when she became a survivor.

Bluebird: Aw that sounds disappointing. I have it but not played it yet.

Good points, I think this is one of the differences with the Uncharted series, where the character relationships are drawn out, especially in UC4.

It is one of my all time favourite games ever. I just love to play it when I want to mess around and blow stuff up. You can explode everything. I love it!

@Carrie Hopewell @BlindSlayer I'm playing Rise of the Tomb Raider too and I actually am quite enjoying it! Well, I've only played it a bit, so I'm probably only on Level 1 - I'm in the big building that floods and you have to find a way to get up? (Sorry, that's probably NO help!) :p

Awesome! That style can be a lot of fun sometimes, I sometimes like to play GTA V with the cheats turned on for the sake of random mischief, its clearly the way to go.

You mean you confessed your love to Triss IN ADDITION to Yennefer? Me too! Here's to being terrible boyfriends!

    Polygamy FTW.

(Seriously though - it doesn't end well, LOL)

Well, then, this is a wonderful opportunity to try 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' now. :) (Prepare for shameless gushing :D)
It's pretty much the game of the decade, and almost everyone loves it. A wonderfully heartfelt story, fun gameplay, witty dialogue, a fascinating, dark, beautiful fantasy world, lovable characters and relationships, amazing graphics, a huge open-world to play in, and... Well, point is - it's amazing. It's kinda like 'Game of Thrones' meets 'Angel' - a dark Noir-ish story in a high fantasy world. And it's so good, that it prompted Netflix to make a series about the books on which the game is based.

LOL. Half of your status updates recently are about those games! You're obsessed mate :p Tbh, I think my dad would like it.

Btw, did my not so casual inclusion of the word "mate" seem natural? I've been watching British tv., plus The Originals. I'm starting to develop a British accent in my head and a desire to say "mate" and "bloody". Also, I've got to find an occasion to say "poppycock". It's such a great word!

Of course I'm obsessed. You will be too!

Hey, the more the merrier.:) I'd say that you should play it together, but there are some scenes in this game that a father and daughter should not watch together...

Well, I'm not an expert on how to speak britishly, but I definitely commend your british-osity!

My dad is the one that plays. I don't have enough patience to play an entire game and he's good at it. Playing games together is our father/daughter activity. We've seen movies with sex scenes together so it shouldn't be that bad.

I love that SNL sketch. It's so hilarious!

So 'Tomb Raider' was an exception for you? Or did you not finish it?

In that case, you should totally go for it. Father/daughter relationships actually play a really big role in the game, so it'd be, like, relevant.:)

No. You see, my dad and I have been playing Tomb Raider together since the first game came out. "Together" being a loose term since I was too young to play the games for most of my life. I've played bits of all of the games, but never finished one myself. I'm his advisor mostly. I yell at him to dodge bullets and kill this and that. I also translate stuff and tell him where to find relics and documents. I played most of the 2013 Tomb Raider game. I've never played all of it because I don't like playing alone and my dad likes to do the killing. My area of expertise is finding everything: the documents, the relics, the GPS catches, the maps, etc. I occasionally kill the bad guys too. In Rise of the Tomb Raider I didn't play most of it. Wasn't really interested honestly.

I'm not really a gamer, sorry to disappoint!

It is. My dad deals with the frustration, the finger aches and the sleepless nights trying to finish the game, while I just play the fun parts until I'm bored and watch the plot unfold! It's a stress free experience :)

Finished Rise of the Tomb Raider, now trying to decide what game to go on with next, possibly Horizon: Zero Dawn, which I've heard great things about.

My dad and I are playing Jak X on my newly acquired PS 2 (I broke my first one, oops). We've played all of the Jak games a few times already. They're awesome! But Jak X is the only game I can actually play almost in its entirety because it's easy and fun. I let my dad play the boring challenges while I only play the races lol.
