I don't think S6 is worth talking about much, it should be, because it probably the best start of any Buffy season..... and yes the start of S7 was not bad , selfless stands out and conversation with dead people one of my all time favourite....but after that to much like the spike show and to little like BTVS

The Willow drug stuff is the rough patch of S6. Plus I don't like the Big Bads. But it ends on a high. I think the Dark Willow trilogy is very good. It sort of picks up again by the end of the season.

Selfless is even better than CWDP I'd say in S7.

I find the Spuffy stuff to be the rough patch plus of course the AR.

The problem with the Willow drug stuff is that it changes the metaphor. In Season 6, the metaphor is magic=drugs. In Season 4, magic was the metaphor for Tillow's blossoming relationship. If magic=drugs then Tara was Willow's pusher. Also the whole "Willow is an addict, we must get rid of all magic stuff so she's not tempted" is then undone in Season 7 when Willow then uses magic with no consequence. Addicts can't do that, they have to stay away from their addiction, not continue to indulge in it because it serves the plot.

I quite like the trio before things took a dark turn in Dead Things. However, they weren't big bad material. Warren and Jonathan as disguises of the first were amusing in Season 7, but it does emphasise the point that Andrew works better when he has Warren and Jonathan to play off of rather than solo. Jonathan would've been the better addition to Season 7 instead of Andrew.

I'd agree about Selfless actually I'm not a huge CWDP fan.

The worst part of CWDP for me is Cassie. I dislike the Cassie character in both Help and CWDP.

The Cassie part wasn't helped by the fact Willow had no scenes with her in Help. For me the worst part of CWDP was the Dawn bits. I don't care about Dawn so it was meh for me and the writers weren't clear if Joyce was the First or not ?

I agree with Btvs fan - it's the Dawn bits that drag it down and it's hard to know what the First was trying to do there. I like Cassie a lot actually.

I think you will find that the Cassie bits were supposed to be Tara but Amber would not come back for it ! as for Dawn's character detrimental to the whole show generally

Probably like the idea of the Willow addiction stuff more than the execution. It has its moments though. Some of the drama with her and Tara is well handled and felt realistic. Some of Amber Benson's best acting on the show. Also like the pay-off with the Dark Willow trilogy.

The Trio were alright in small doses. Life Serial was their best episode. Just didn't think there was enough there to justify them being the season BB.

Okay, I'm going to exclude the Arc material. That stuff was likely written by Joss and was staying, irregardless of what the episode was about. Buffy could been injured in a fight with the Cast of Cats, and Xander would have still confronted Angelus at the hospital. "Bad Eggs" is a pretty good high school episode, I'll say that. "Killed By Death" is a fine retelling of Nightmare on Elm Street. But "Some Assembly Required" is Frankenstein. They ruined, Frankenstein. Plus all the Athletic episodes seem to be written by non-jocks. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Mrs Madison, and crazy woman watching the same blurry twenty seconds of football tape. And let's not forget, "My boys are fish lizards, but they need tape." So, Frankenstein. Get rid of Frank's.

Neither because they are a part that makes Season 2 interesting. Season 2 is my favorite season after all. Those 3 episodes are better entertainment than Superstar, All the Way, Doublemeat Palace, and Normal Again.

I'll get rid of Killed By Death. It just wasn't very good at all.

I like Some Assembly Required. Not a favorite, but not as bad as all that.

Killed by Death- the monster is worth keeping and I can't get rid of the final scene where the scoobies are hanging out and Buffy gets the drawing from the little boy she saved 😥❤

Some Assembly Required- I actually think this story has a lot of emotion in it with the depressed mother and the brothers, and it's a good scene when the monster walks into the fire to be with his girlfriend. I like it.

Bad eggs- I'd want to keep the scene with Buffy and Joyce shopping because it feels rare but I'd have to cut this one out of all three because it just doesn't have any heart that I can remember right now.

I'd get rid of ' The Dark Age' over these three, it's forgettable. Or 'Go Fish'.

I'm voting for Bad Eggs (come at me, @Taake!) I've never liked that episode, I can't even remember the last time I watched it.

Killed By Death is awesomely creepy, plus I like seeing Buffy's past. It's hilariously cute that she used to play at being a Superhero. Der Kindestod is also one of the most effectively scary monsters on BtVS. And while Some Assembly Required is clumsy and misogynistic, I like the attempt at a Frankenstein story. Also Xander rescues Cordy, which I just love! He literally runs through fire for her!

@RachM I enjoyed the flashbacks too but I wonder why Celia wasn’t mentioned before then or after by Joyce. I’ve assumed that she’s from Hank’s side of the family and not from Joyce’s sister.

I like Some Assembly Required. Not much, but more than the other two.

If I have lose one of the others, I’ll flip a coin. And while it does it’s air-diving, I’ll be hoping that it’s Killed By Death. But either way.

I would not change or lose any of them , Some Assembly Required , Bad Eggs , Killed by death ,it was when Buffy was Buffy , not some morbid depressed freak she was in S6 or the dictatorial person she became in the later episodes of S7 . Seasons 1 to 5 no matter how bad the story line got it was still Buffy and you can not better that

I agree with the consensus here that SAR isn't a very good episode. Killed By Death is absolutely terrifying. Der Kindestod really stayed with me. Even the bit today where Buffy's cousin is killed is absolutely nightmarish!

(I also loved Willow's distraction attempt with the frogs, especially after she's found out "there were frogs" LOL)

The Gorch Brothers are ridiculous but they are hilarious too at least.

I like Bad Eggs. My favourite part is Cordy and Xander and the bit about the closet. 😄

Not a huge fan of Killed by Death, but I like the scene where Xander stands up against Angel. The guy has balls.

Some Assembly Required 💩no thank you. Only really important bit is Giles and Jenny on a date and then Xander saving Cordy. I love the book Frankenstein, but this seemed like a bad take on it.

Do we have to get rid of them, couldn't we ditch Go Fish instead?!

If I HAD to it would probably be Bad Eggs, even though there are some nice scenes in the library and bits are slightly creepy.
I couldn't get rid of Some Assembly Required because, even though it's objectively the worst of the lot, FIRST DATE and despite everything, SECOND DATE in the offing. Plus, Giles' digs about American football make me laugh :D

I actually really like Killed by Death, and super scary monster. It seems off because Jenny has just died and then you get what seems to be a monster of the week but it's not really because Cordy is right, Buffy wants to kick Death's arse. Plus is has one of my favourite performances by Anthony Stewart Head in it so, NO, not getting rid of that.

Kinda forgot what Bad Eggs was like aside from something about creatures in the eggs brainwashing the good guys... or something. So I'll get rid of that one.

I've expressed my love of Killed by Death's monster quite a number of times, so no more needs to be said.

I looked up Some Assembly Required again. Not gonna lie, even though the whole execution of the episode was... problematic, I can't help but like the Frankenstein's monster parallels a little bit. I can't say it's my most hated episode ever, certainly not in season 2, so it's hard for me to go all out and ditch it. Go Fish deserves to be ditched even more, I agree.

Probably Bad Eggs but there’s some good scenes in there. I always find it unintentionally hilarious when possessed Willow starts talking about the Mother bezoer in a very straight way followed by Cordy staring ahead blankly and knocking Xander out. Honestly the most annoying this about this episode is how weirdly neurotic Joyce is through the whole episode, also not cool to refer to your daughter as a burden to the school librarian
