Hi all,

The next book we will be reading together is the 'Tales of the Slayer, vol 2. (see: Tales of the Slayer, Vol. 2 (Tales of the Slayer, #2))

This book is available on Amazon and Abebooks, but is sold out on bookdepository to give you some examples. Make sure you get the second volume and not the other three as there are four in total :)

We are going to start reading this book in two weeks (around the 8th of May). This book consists of 10 short stories and a thread will be created per short story once a week. Some of the stories feature the Scooby Gang, but others feature previous slayers.

Here is a rundown of all the titles of the short stories and authors:
1. All that you do comes back unto thee, Sunnydale, California, 1999 by Todd A. MacIntosh
2. Lady Shobu, Sagami Province, Japan, 980 by Kara Dalkey
3. Abomination, Beauport, Brittany, France, 1320 by Laura J. Burns and Melinda Metz
4. Blood and Brine, the Caribbean, 1661 by Greg Cox
5. The ghosts of slayers past, London, England, 1843 by Scot Allie
6. The new watcher, Atlanta, Georgia, 1864 by Kristine Kathryn Rusch
7. House of the vampire, London, England, 1897 by Micheal Reaves
8. The war between the states, New York City, New York, 1922 by Rebecca Rand Kirshner
9. Stakeout on rush street, Chicago, Illinois, 1943 by Max Allan Collins and Matthew V. Clemens
10. Again, Sunnydale, California, 1999 by Jane Espenson

I am looking forward to reading all your comments and discussing the stories with you.

Let me know if you have any questions :)

The only one I have read before (from this book) is the last short story and I absolutely loved it. There are quite some good buffy books out there ;) I am looking forward to reading this with you :)

I am worried that they will be too young for my tastes, but if I enjoy this one I'll definitely be asking for recommendations :)
There are some where the Scoobies are in season 1, but I just read the Lost Slayer series in which there is season 4 Buffy and a 25 year old Buffy (alternate realities are wacky). This is a great one, but be warned not all of the books are that well written like that one ;)

They had two series....The Teen novels, which were just what they suggest. Then there were the more mainstream set. While these were definitely not what you
would call 'Adult content', they were not aimed at kids and for the most part had better stories.

I just saw that there are 4 volumes.

Is there a reason why we're only reading volume 2? Just asking because I know absolutely nothing about those books but I can obsessive about reading in order.

Vol 2 is just the one I happen to own. I just picked the books I had not read but did own. It is quite tricky for me to get my hands on Buffy novels.

Thanks! I was just wondering if it was because volume 1 was hard to find or bad or something like that.

I guess I can ignore the order this time since this seems to be short stories that you can read out of order.

Just ordered it from amazon! I'm excited to read this. I've been wanting to read a Buffy book for ages now and this seems like the perfect opportunity!

I won't have the book by then but I'll join you later. Hopefully it won't take a month to receive it.

I'm assuming this "Tales" read is different than the "Tales" of the comic books. I almost got excited that I already had it, but it appears they are two different books. I'll have to catch the next round.
