Exactly as I voted - Willow and Spike with Willow winning. I guess the contender having her name on the original series winning over the lead character of the spinoff was to be expected. But let's face it - Spike beat Angel for the Cup of Destiny and Willow could actually do some damage to Glory and later, Dark Willow did some damage to Buffy and in that matchup of Spike against Willow, Willow should have won. Oh well, the rest of the crowd can take their champions into battle and we can take ours.

Guess it shouldn't be that much of a surprise.

But I had Willow as winner myself too. Thought her powers would made her a clear winner.

My biggest mistake otherwise was thinking Groo would go far.
Who wouldn't want an undefeated champion, that even can fight in daylight, on your side in a battle? lol

But with everyone having their own set of rules, I can understand not voting for Willow if you haven't read the comics for instance, it was doomed to be rather unpredictable.

Great fun though, I enjoyed this one.

The one and ONLY time he ever won against (depressed) Angel was the deciding factor for you? Boy did you miss the part where Angel both as puppet and human beat Blondie Bear up. People have weird standards for voting.

Willow is the most powerful character on either show. But since we are smarter than Buffy we all know it's not all about power when it comes to battle.

I always find people bringing up the Destiny fight as a reason why Spike is stronger then Angel funny. For me, I always saw that episode as being all about Angel. It's not about Spike being the champion, it's about Angel doubting himself. That episode was meant to crush him and make him question his champion status. It was never meant as a statement on how Spike is stronger than Angel. AtS is Angel's story. Spike was there as a foil to Angel just like Faith for Buffy.

And it happens in a season where that's all part of his narrative. I personally can't imagine Spike beating him in a fair fight in any other season.
