I have enjoyed some of the episodes, but I know why I don't remember many of them. I also know why I haven't rewatched this like I have Buffy many times. Like you said it definitely doesn't add up to Buffy. I think my problem was rewatching this immediately after my rewatch of Buffy.

I am sticking with it though. :)
Yeah if you just watch Angel for a while you start to miss Buffy. I feel like you have to watch them together to enjoy Angel more, which may not make sense, but that's the way it is.

Yes, watching both shows at the same time definitely made me enjoy it more during seasons 6/7 and 3/4 :)

No but not really kidding, with all of season 4 of AtS's faults, watching it at the same time as season 7 of btvs really made me realize that it's not that bad after all. I ended up always being more excited whenever it was AtS's turn. That only changed after Faith left for Sunnydale.

Poor Faith, I just want to give her a hug :(

Ouch :(

I hope Wes can afford to fix that wall...

Angelus, you are lame...

Who is it ??? God ??? o_O

Angelus, you may be hands on but Angel is definitely not a hands on guy...

Cordy is possessed, someone please kill her just to stop it...

Cordy, that baby is controlling you, and not in a good way...

Lorne, in this case a gun is more effective than a sanctuary spell...

Not up to it ??? About that...

Here's the thing about sanctuary spells, they don't work in real life and therefore should not be relied upon.

I personally think that China makes useable products...

Angelus, Faith can make the choice to join you or the choice to be a good guy...

Wes, I don't think that Faith wants to be that vicious anymore...

Cordy is possessed again...

Cordy stole the soul

Funn again...

May Faith bruise him :D

Nice reflexes :D

So this is what Riley did behind Buffy's back in season 5...

Connor, you are not a vampire...

Eww

She has a gaydar, just like Faith :)

Faith wanted Wes to stop hurting humans and she gets called a rabid dog for it...

Angelus, stop that

Angelus, Wes was a stuffy wuss back then...

Angelus, she might be a murderer but she's not an animal...

No

Next time: Angel and Faith spend the episode in a shared coma.

The conflict with Wes and Faith is interesting. I'm more on Faith side because when you are generally fighting on the good side then torturing innocents isn't really part of the mission. Plus there's no proof that his methods led to good results. I mean his later plan worked on some levels, but it did almost kill Faith which in the grander schemes of things would have been a loss for the good side.

The Angelus-Faith fight at the end was great and the highlight of the episode. It's a shame at this point Angelus had slipped into full on camp.

Unpopluar opinion of mine but I still prefer Buffy S7 over this season of Angel. I think the lows are much lower in S4 of Angel.

Im watching this for the first time and whats with all the season 4 hate. This whole season each episode has felt like a giant season finale. Crazy I never wanted to watch angel I could of seen all this 20 years ago but very cool seeing it now it feels all new
This is my favorite episode of the whole show (Angel) and you're right, S4 does not deserve all the hate, it's my favorite season :D

Is Faith angry in the shower because she lost to Angelus, or just angry at what he has become? I liked her and Wes in this episode, how their trust is building, and how Wes is becoming more of a Watcher to her, though she no longer needs one entirely. His 'rabid dog' speech to her, trying to rile her up, was very reminiscent of Buffy's 'Get It Done' toughen-up speech to Spike. I'm just loving Faith as the hero!

I don't think Evil Cordelia is quite believable. She just isn't selling it, and the disguised, disembodied voice makes it worse. The First at least shows up in some form in BtVS 7, but Cordy's just lying around on a bed using a scary voice. It also makes Angelus seem somewhat ridiculous, talking to the air. It's just not an effective way for their scenes 'together' to be written, I think.

Fred and Gunn, having to hang around together after their break-up, awkward! Fred seems to be wavering, but I'm not sure Gunn wants to be reeled back in.

It seems like slamming a book into a wall would count as violence on Angelus's part, to trigger the anti-violence spell. But Connor seems caught by surprise that it works on him, meaning he might have demon in him.

Angelus is goading Faith at the end, and that doesn't seem to make any more sense than him killing the Beast. Angelus just seems very different this go-around from how he was in BtVS. "Full on camp" is how @Mr Trick put it, which is a good description!

I'm also with those above who don't understand the S4 hate. I don't think it will be my favorite AtS season, but I'm liking it well enough, with lots of twists and cliffhangers. I guess we Buffy fans just have high standards!

Yeah when their doing the stuff with Angelus in the cage its not too bad. But its when it gets out they do it with the camp. Also I think @Stake fodder is right there's a lot of plotholes in the whole thing. The evil voice stuff was too much and I hate the Cordy stuff (for most of this season actually). Even in Orpheus which is one of my favourite episodes of the whole show, the Cordy stuff is a weak point.
