In the season finale, with the lives of both humans and magical beings hanging in the balance, the battle between Buffy--once again the Chosen One--and the Big Bad comes to its zenith . . . And the world will never be the same!

I get my copy through the post, so it'll be a few days till I read it, but after begging @Stoney, she spoiled me and sent me the last page!!!!! It made me soooo happy!
I waited two years for them to get together, and another 5 years for Buffy to finally say the words! It was worth it :D

Now I just need to know why Buffy has half her head shaved

I've included you in a conversation with me and Stoney were you can see Stoney has put up the last page in a spoiler. Hope you can see it?

Spuffy freak: Thank you sooo much. Yes I saw and the only reason I can't see anything right now is that my eyes are full of tears, having an overly melodramatic moment (happy tears)

Am I the only one who's kinda into Buffy's asymmetrical haircut? Her clothes in the last pages are also noticeably quirkier in than they have been in previous issues. I like it, I feel like Buffy has always gone for a slightly odd look (but maybe that's just what the 90's looked like, I don't know, I was 6), anyway, the retro cherry top fits with how I imagine her style to be.

I'm so exited for the Giles mini series coming out next year! URG February! so far away!

    SPOILERS:
I liked how the Dragon was neither hear nor there in terms of evilness in the end, it was kind of just a force of nature and was happy to go on it's merry way once the Press Secretary had lost her sway over it. It fits in with the idea of magic as power, something that can be good or bad, depending on how you use it.

As much as I like the cute Spuffy ending, I want Spike to have a little more to do in the next season. I think to see his story arc as completely revolving around his romantic relationship with Buffy and it being resolved as soon as he's in a happy relationship with her is selling the character short. Maybe they needed someone to act as Buffy's damsel in distress in this story and he fit the bill, but he can't carry on being sugar Spike for much longer without getting boring.
On the flip side, I really enjoyed the the fact that Willow got to grapple a bit with her relationship with power and magic and came through the other side intact, we haven't acknowledge the delicate line she walks with her magic for the past couple of seasons and it's been good to revisit.

I like that Buffy has taken on the slayer role again and maybe now that the other slayers have been shaken up a bit, they'll remember what the real purpose of their power is. It's also interesting that Vampires and have somewhat slipped back into the shadows.

It's a nice haircut but it doesn't fit with her personality at all, which bugs me.

LOL! Just realised by buying it as a download I have it on two ipads and four Kindles located in three different parts of the country. Talk about spreading the word...I'm going for world domination! I've got the north of England covered. I'm off to invade Scotland.:D

I like it but I don't think it was by choice - it was burned off.

Yeah Buffy's hair do is because it was burned off in the fight. I doubt it will stay like that.

I've only had the chance to do a first read through and I'd actually like to look back again at the scene between Buffy and Jordan in particular. I feel I need to really have a think through the huge number of messages over power/responsibility in this season. Obviously the fear of the power of others, the abuse of power are there. The experience of having lost power that feels a natural part of you shown with both Buffy and Willow in the season and then the dragon. But also stolen power, both with Wise from the dragon and supernatural creatures, but also then for differing reasons in Buffy's draw of the slayer powers and in Willow's drain of the other wiccans too. Jordan talked of Buffy having shared the power originally but Faith also told her to use 'their' power when fighting Wise. The whole mix of what is natural, what is shared, what is taken, what is abused, what is deserved, how it is a burden and how it is a gift draws from so many places across the series I really want to reread and consider all that this season covered and how it adds in. And although she may not be gone for good, I actually liked that Calliope possibly just doesn't want to opt back into that world. It seems right that not everyone would after the experience they had. It contrasted against how Jordan et al responded. I liked the moment when they were empowered again where there was a pause to see if they were going to leave calmly. I would welcome seeing Jordan's character return, one of the best originals we've had I think.

And I liked that the dragon came and took its power back from Wise. That there was something more than our guys, the natural world fought back too. We also had the return to some extent of the divide illustrated with Vicki which was welcome for me. Drawing together for a common goal but not actually bridging the divide fully works with the greys but doesn't ignore that there are definite breaks/differences still there.

The final group meet on the roof brought us full circle of course in the season to where they started and I like getting these little builds of the lives they are leading together. A great family feel to it and with Buffy feeling so much more at ease in herself after all that the season brought. And of course we have the ILY again. It was pretty expected, especially with that link back to him stopping her saying it when they were in camp, but coming just at a relaxed, undramatic moment, stated/accepted in a really straight forward, loving moment just felt very right for where we have been seeing the Spike/Buffy relationship get to. I have really enjoyed having time away from intense focus on relationship angst and it being more about the situations they are facing. Plus there is plenty of scope for continuing relationship developments that focus on individual issues being explored. These guys may be together for some time yet and that is more than fine with me.

I found the food comment from Spike a bit awkward and wondered if Gage was trying to add to the previous reference in S10 (I think it was) where Spike made a similar comment in response to the suggestion of going out for food. This seemed less out of step with what the series showed if you add in the viewer knowledge that he liked spicy foods as they would add stronger flavours, but it still felt a bit odd and a little clunky for continuity without that. Perhaps this is going somewhere in the future as again his need for blood and her helping him feed was a part of it all again (as it had been in camp). There is still scope for the blast of magic he had having altered/affected him somehow. But perhaps that feels a little too convenient for change to come from. We'll see, when and if we get a S12.

I don't have an issue with where Spike is at these days personally because things are going pretty well for him generally but he hasn't lost his insecurities about fitting in, being what Buffy wants or being a monster. I think he has settled more because he has focused on belonging to the group, what he decided he wanted to strive for during the S9 mini, but he still has his fears of how he doesn't/can't fit in which were raised last season and this. His path seems to still be developing coherently to me and there is scope for it to do so further. I'm glad of the distinct change of tone, whether it lasts fully, partially or not as his story goes on. It continues to feel logically progressive and not like he is held in a stasis where the writers won't develop him.

There are Q&As with Christos and Rebekah started over on SA if anyone can think of a question. Interestingly, they have said that Christos won't answer anything about S12.

    Just finished it.

That last panel brought a tear to my eye.

Maybe I'm the pessimist here, but did the battle with the dragon remind anyone of the first Shrek movie? With Lord Farquad getting eaten? No, just me? That's cool :p

I do like how Buffy showed mercy on Jordan and the other slayers. And the last few panels how Faith is also included in it all.

I'm glad I was wrong and everyone didn't die. But far out, as if we didn't hate on Sam and Riley before, we sure have a bit more hate for them now!

Agree Stoney – It felt very realistic and natural – like couples respond to one another when they want to express their love as well as telling their partner that they “are there with them” like Spike asked Buffy so long ago in Sunnydale “Were you there with me?” Back then it was so much misery between them this time there is love and caring from both of them.

Another element that I especially liked is the panel with Spike challenging JW – to go ahead and try to take him out that he “reckon I’ve had a better run than I deserve.” He knows how fortunate he has been and both accepts his history while also knowing he has made huge changes in his life. If he goes out at least he went out fighting with the woman he loves and doing what he can to protect her, his new Sunnydale family and this world.

It’s also nice to have them back on the roof top – this theme of the roof top locations have been used since they first came to SF and big events for them have happened on the roof tops. And it’s the same for Buffy and Xander. Buffy has had extremely significant moments regarding her life and being the Slayer and A Slayer at the roof top location as well. I am so glad that we finally have a Buffy who is strong both physically and emotionally and that she now can integrate both the woman and the slayer. NICE with showing Buffy holding hands with Willow and Dawn – it’s a lovely panel. The artwork in this issue I think is the best of the entire season.

Agree with you on the “Spike eating food” section – I’ve always interpreted from the series that Spike could eat and liked spicy human food. Not that he eats like humans but he can eat if he wants. How ill could Spike get from eating human food – vamps in the Buffyverse don’t get ill other than Angel being poisoned by Faith, don’t think we have ever had vamps become ill in the series. It’s no big deal, just not something I ever expected.

Ooo yes on the location symbolism Cil. Something else that often is used in Buffy and Spike's story together too, so of course another one of my 'things', ha. :) That they are meeting open and 'above' together, goes well with being within the group and integrated as a couple now. Buffy surrounded by all those of her innermost group. It would be a great place for them to have gathered at the end of the series, rather than just the season, if they wanted to leave it on a positive note of them having reached a pinnacle as a group, able to face whatever lies ahead together. :D

It's possibly part of why the Angel & Faith group being broken/ignored currently feels so unsatisfactory. Didn't they end the last season they were all together in the same symbolic situation?

EDIT: I've just checked and yes S10 in A&F finished on a rooftop group socialising scene with Angel, Faith, Fred, Koh, Nadira and the Aunts. Such a shame it was followed by Angel S11.

I found this guy’s review interesting. And in fact, one of the things that I found interesting were his musings that perhaps the story had been hashed out when the writers thought Hillary was going to win the presidency and maybe they had to make a change to the story at the last minute. I had thought something similar when I started seeing the reviews re the policial commentary and parallels of the arc. Timeline wise the story was released 11/26/16 and that was RIGHT after the election. An election which showed polls heavily skewed for Hillary so it does make me wonder if any re-writing was done.
