  • Love the Man on the street segments and the different perspectives from people regarding the Dollhouse. Great actors.
  • I like Paul and Mellie, she's very sweet.
  • If it hadn't been Echo as Rebecca - how would Paul have known it was a Doll? Like what was his Doll-identifying-kit? Was he just going to arrest some random woman and fingerprint her etc to see if she was a doll? What was his plan exactly. Just wondering.
  • "I knew it! It's porn isn't it?" "Who is this? You know this man? Is this a porn man?" "Porn!" Lol, Rebecca's great.
  • Joel's story breaks my heart, I really like the ending of the episode in regards to him. I get that it's still prostitution but it's this kind of wishfulfillment that just gets to me.
  • "You put the girl doll ontop of the boy doll and we learn about urges"
  • Paul and Echo fighting is brilliant. (Although why is the kitchen empty?) I love that she used her "innocent" face to throw him off.
  • "The Dollhouse deals in fantasy, that is their business, but that is not their purpose."
  • The Mellie attack scene is still one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen. It's just... so real. Until the turn. Thank god for that turn
  • Oh man, I love Boyd taking out Hearn. Love. It.
  • Also, bye bye Hearn!
  • Love Viktor and Sierra
All in all one of my favorite episodes. Gripping, well rounded, and I feel like we're getting somewhere finally!

This was such a fantastic episode.... wow! Where to start?!

I knew it couldn't be Victor abusing Sierra. Hearn was disgusting, I'm so pleased Boyd threw him through a glass window. And his excuse "It would have happened anyway" - just made my skin crawl!
The scenes with Mellie and Paul together were so lovely. The way she was interested in his case and wanted to help, you just knew something bad would come of it
What a brilliant twist with Mellie being an active!
At first I thought Joel was a creep, but hearing his story made me really feel for the guy, especially for the scene at the end, where he finally shows 'Rebecca' their house. That was so incredibly moving. Although, how did Paul know where Joel would be? And how did he know an active would be with him at that moment?
Mellie being an active makes sense why they're monitoring her apartment, and therefore monitoring him.
The fight scene in the Chinese restaurant was really good, and the bit at the end where Echo speaks to him was also excellent; there is someone in the Dollhouse tampering, but who is it?!
Topher didn't annoy me
Neither did Adelle.
Those two reasons make this a good episode!

This was such a brilliant episode overall. I definitely feel like the story is progressing now and they're actually starting to address some of my initial concerns about the dolls and what they use them for.

I hope this upward streak continues. I've got to give this an A, purely because it surprised me how brilliant it was.

Agreed, probably my favourite episode of season 1. I'm a big fan of Patton Oswalt, so it was a nice surprise. The action scenes felt realistic and dangerous, a tonne of impressive performances, along with the fast-paced plot and reveals aplenty made for a great episode.

Yay! This episode is really great. They weren't kidding when they said it was the turning point episode. Everything starts happening.
Mellie twist!
Paul and Echo fight!
Hearn is disgusting
Victor and Sierra!

Aw I love Paul and Mellie so much! This was really good episode I thought that dealt with some of the questions people have been having (such as, are the "dolls" being abused) and we learn that there's a person on the inside trying to expose the Dollhouse. It does make you think about the fact that when the dolls are on engagements if they have sex, is that also abuse?

"Porn!" lol

The Mellie attack scene is still one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen. It's just... so real. Until the turn. Thank god for that turn
Totally agree - it's hard to watch even.

And how did he know an active would be with him at that moment?
His friend at the FBI? Police? said the payments into the account from Joel happened on the same day every year. Then he probably just tailed the guy.

That's how I took it from day one. It's one of the reasons the show's been making me feel slightly uncomfortable, I think.

But, I'm hopeful this is starting to be addressed now.

I guess the argument is that, in the moment, the person they are consents. And, technically, I guess the original people consented to be used in this fashion. I'm not saying I agree.

Totally agree on this point! Doing that sort of acting and making it look natural must be one of the hardest things. With this sort of story its important to show the power of the media, and just how such a programme as Dollhouse would divide public opinion.

I'm divided on their relationship. I don't think the actress is very good really, but then that makes more sense when you find out she's an opperative. I'm not that moved by the relationship at first, later more so:)

Yeah one of the highlights of the show so far. Do you know if Eliza does her own stunts? I wondered because she has been involved in some of the best fights across Buffy, Angel and Dollhouse:p I don't really go for these shows for the fight scenes, but the one involving ED just feel more powerful, and creative.

And we agree again!;) Not just that but the twist was very good too. As it went on I sensed that she might get out of it somehow, but I wasn't sure how:eek:

Really Adelle annoys you? I think she's a great a character and very well played by Williams. In some episodes I think her part is under written, but guess that is going to happen sometimes with that sort of character.

Yeah good point. And yes it is abuse to me. If the clients didn't know the set up at Dollhouse then that would be one thing, but since they do and still go through with it then that tips it for me.

Really great episode I agree with all of you. Hard hitting, with some good writing, and important character and plot growths.

I don't think she was allowed to, I mean, she's the star. If she gets hurt they lose a lot of money. I think she does most of the stuff, but a few times you can really see it's a stunt double.

Haha, all this agreeing is making my head spin. What is happening? :p

I'm pretty sure she does in Dollhouse. Eliza said so in an interview.
Well she does whatever they allow her to do. Insurance reasons. She has a stunt double, but Eliza likes to do as much as she can. Tahmoh, who plays Paul got to do a lot of his own stunts because of his martial arts experience in muay thai.
