Fred or Illyria?

Fred is just another character in just another series but Illyria is something we have never run into before. Fred is defined immediately by, "Handsome man - saved me from the monsters." Illyria is a type of character we have never seen before and we just have to see what she is about, including the shocker in "Time Bomb" where she beheads Angel and stakes Spike. But even more than that is her growing trust of Wesley, her loss of her kingdom and her adaptation to modern times, right down to playing "Crash Bandicoot".

She is interesting because we do not know what to expect whereas if Fred had missed a line, we could have cued her from our side of the TV screen.

Fred. I can see myself investing in her story/character more than Illyria.

I like Illyria, but long term? no, s/he got old very fast for me..

Even though there are some interesting aspects about Illyria, I would have to pick Fred because I gotten used to her. I like her soul better.
