    Giles Files: Vampire Clash
story by Ayko based on an idea by DUXe

    London, 1954

The film opens with a wild and horrific exorcism being conducted by a team of demonologists in a clinic. The demonic possession of the young teen, Macy Giles, is like nothing the Deliverance Ministry team of England have experienced. It has been over six months now and still the team struggle with the demon possession that will just not let go. To further complicate things, Macy is seven months pregnant. Team leader, Cardinal Horace, arrives. During a meeting, the team discusses the scenario. Ostmann deduces that the problem is likely due to the fact that Macy is a willing victim of the demon possession allowing the evil spirit to enter her essence as both draw out the geometrically increased strength of three spirits. They test the theory with a series of tricky questions. Upon his identity being discovered, the demon unleashes a force of hair raising attacks beginning with Macy grabbing a cross and stabbing a team member and barely missing his heart. He is taken to be cared for as the room explodes in scary scenes. Ostmann decides it is enough and orders the team to quickly perform a cesarean section and rescuing the baby boy, born Rupert Edlund Giles, killing Macy and releasing the baby Giles of the evil demons.

    20 years later...

Giles receives tragic news of the passing away of his grandmother, Edna Giles, interrupting his training at The Watcher's Academy. He and his American fiancé, Ramona, make their way to the town of Megève, where she died, near the Geneva airport. While Giles is busy, Ramona finds herself adventuring the countryside (to the song 'Anything But Ordinary' by Avril Lavigne) and gets lost. As it gets late, Ramona comes to a neighboring village, La Giettaz, and falls victim to Count Greeves, Vampire Lord, stalking his prey that night. Greeves is impressed by Ramona and after the first bite takes her back to his castle in the French Alps not noticing the young lady witness behind the trees in the distance.

At Castle Greeves the Count's three brides, Victoire (brunette), Natalia (black hair), and Katja (red hair), are not amused with their Count's new blonde bride.

They question Greeves about the deal he has with the French Village to take one victim when needed without breeding new vampires. (Two bites and the victim is beheaded with the remaining blood to sustain the brides.) Greeves is not interested in discussing the deal and notes the home address of Ramona being Miami, Florida, leaving the deal intact because nobody will trace her to Castle Greeves. His brides warn of outsiders that may come looking for her but Greeves remains stubborn lusting at his new blonde bride.

When Ramona does not return to the hotel, Giles gets worried and goes out to look for her. His talent for deductive reasoning and analysis of the facts, as well as his sincere charm, bring him to the neighboring village restaurant and bar in La Giettaz. The owner and guests are very skeptic of the stranger and give him the 'cold shoulder'. He senses they are hiding something. The owner's daughter, Lucie (the witness of the abduction), is present and listens from the background. As the conversation between Giles and the owner gets tense, Giles leaves the establishment. Shortly thereafter he is approached by Lucie who suddenly darts out from behind a tree. She talks about what she saw, and Castle Greeves, before her father suddenly shouts from the shadows to get back inside the establishment. He then demands that Giles leave the area immediately and never return. Giles makes his way to Castle Greeves.

During the journey, Giles ponders over the words of Lucie. The closer Giles gets to Castle Greeves, the more he is plagued by horrific visions, sounds and thoughts warning him of the truth, that Count Greeves is a Vampire Lord that has taken his Ramona. The closer Giles gets to the castle the more he is enveloped by sounds of spooky night creatures. His senses advise him to arm himself. He uses his hunting knife to sharpen wooden stakes in the mountain forest, ties tree branches together in the shape of holy crosses and prays like never before for strength and courage. He also takes some water from a creek and blesses it.

Giles arrives at Castle Greeves in the morning hours, weary but alert. Suprisingly, he is greeted at the entrance by a stocky built man announcing he is the butler, Mr Fieldings who invites Giles inside. After a weird and eerie exchange of small talk it comes down to a fight between the two when Giles refuses to dine with Fieldings and his fly and termite delicatessen. Wilhelm clubs Fieldings unconscious with an old and heavy candle holder.

Giles searches the castle in all its gore until he finds the dungeon room with four coffins. The first coffin he opens shows a beautiful lady apparently asleep, Victoire. The second he opens shows Greeves laying with Ramona at his side. Giles quickly gets over his shock and horror and grabs one of the wooden stakes. He hammers it into the heart of Count Greeves but not before taking his amulet ring. The screams awaken Ramona and Victoire who easily tosses Giles across the room and removes the stake from her Count saving him.

Greeves darts out of his coffin after Giles who is already running back upstairs. He is quickly overtaken by the Count on the main floor. The two stare each other down before having a classic Vampire to Vampire Hunter conversation clearing up exactly the history of the two.

Greeves: Be not so arrogant. You and I are not so different. We sleep by the day and you by the night. We have passion for what we crave as you have passion for what you crave. We feed on the blood of mortals of our own species while you slaughter the defenseless bird and cook it before devouring it. Who here is the guilty and which of us has the justification to judge, Mr. Giles?!

Giles: Actually, my fiancé recently turned me into a vegetarian, and even got me to quit smoking, if you can believe that.

    Greeves: Is that so?

Giles: A bird is not sentient so any quick slaughter of one cannot enslave and damn a soul for an eternity as a servant of evil.

Greeves: Yes, the bird is not sentient and therefore defenseless. Plucked so you do not choke on the feathers and decapitated so you must not see the face of death by your own hands. Then you add seasoning and sauces to give it flavor after you have cooked out the natural one. Genesis, Chapter One, Verse 26, ‘Then God made man in His image and gave him dominance to be responsible for all the fish in the waters, all the birds of the air, and all the cattle across the Earth.’. You are yourselves evil, Mr. Giles, so deal with the offspring of your actions.

Giles: You make a valid point, however, I know for a fact from my research, experience and divine meditation that demonic forces of satan were responsible once, centuries ago, for leaving mankind in a barren land with only grass, weeds, and other wildlife available to eat so, you see, Nosferatu, if we are guilty of anything it is only survival, and that we have not yet rid ourselves of this insanity of evil and its demonic offspring of human damnation. You are a disease that imprisons innocent souls, innocent lives, to give you a folk to enslave and rule over because you have nothing else! You betrayed God. You rejected God and you denounced Him, and you are too cowardly to accept the results of your choices that were made of your own free will, so you spread you curse and imprison innocent souls by your side to cover some of the loss you endured by your betrayal and sacrilege.

Greeves: You know nothing of my plight or my past, you god fearing bastard!

Giles: I do know of your plight, now that I am aware of your existence.

Greeves: That shall be of no good to you or anyone else because you are not leaving this castle…ever!

Just as Greeves is about to lunge at Giles, the brides gazing from the doorway, Giles leaps up on the huge table, runs and jumps. He grabs onto the drawn curtains bringing them down with him to the floor exposing the sunlight rays into the room burning the right arm of Greeves who moves away to the shadows and safety. Giles stands up in the rays of the sun and pleads for Ramona to come to him but she is under the spell of Greeves. She gives a sinister smile saying she cannot abandon her new master. Giles begins to shed tears. Greeves begins throwing heavy objects at Giles who breaks open the window and exits the Castle.

Giles sets the castle ablaze. As it burns, Giles awaits at a distance hoping to witness the destruction of the vampire clan under the sun rays while hoping Ramona is not totally lost. With only one or two bites the victim regains their spirit in health if the attacking vampire is destroyed before the third bite. Unfortunately, nobody emerges from the flames. Greeves and his brides have escaped through an underground tunnel.

Count Greeves takes his four brides to an older hideout complete with coffins inside a Siberian Mountain that Greeves used a century ago back in the days when vampire hunters were lurking everywhere. Extremely enraged, Greeves curses Giles and the day he was born. Greeves realizes that Giles has his ring and knows he will use it to hunt him down. He and his brides prepare a trap.

Giles returns to London. Giles holds an emergency meeting with the Watchers Council and a demon assault team is organized. They pack the necessities and prepare themselves for the vampire hunt.

Their clairvoyant, Liz, uses Greeves' ring to psychologically feel what Greeves is doing while Greeves feels Liz doing it. Following intense mind and spirit probing she pinpoints the location of Greeves in Siberia. The team make their way with their helicopter.

Upon reaching the area of Greeves' hideout, a wild and explosive battle breaks out between Giles' team and the four vampires. However, the element of surprise is with Greeves this time. The vampire hunters are slaughtered except for Giles who is taken prisoner. Greeves hangs Giles in the cave as a trophe and object for physical and psychological torture.

Meanwhile, Victoire is becoming envious of Ramona getting all of Greeves' attention while bisexual Katja and Natalia cast Victoire out as a companion even more than before, even though Victoire is the first bride. She begins to spend more time alone with Giles who is barely holding on to life considering if he were not better off dead. During the conversations, Victoire become intrigued and fascinated with Giles and his fortitude and especially the loyalty and love for his Ramona. She offers him an ultimatum. She will release Giles who will assist Victoire and Ramona (now a vampire) destroy Count Greeves and his other two brides, Katja and Natalia. Giles refuses at first but, after considering the facts that, one, he awaits a slow torturous death, two, Ramona remains 'undead' and a vampire bride perhaps for all eternity, and three, Greeves is left to survive and prey further, he realizes that he has no other option available. He accepts the ultimatum offered by Victoire.

Count Greeves returns with Natalia and Katja and are taken by surprise by the trio. A wild clash takes place in the snowy mountain peaks of Siberia. Strength and experience give Greeves and clan the upperhand forcing Giles, Victoire, and Ramona to retreat back to London. Greeves and his two brides follow.

A series of wild and destructive Vampire Clashes takes place throughout the London area and climaxes at a great Cathedral.

    Scarlett Victoire (the prequel)
    story by Ayko
dedicated to Sheridan Le Fanu, James Malcolm Rymer and Bram Stoker

    intro:
In the decades that followed the crucifixion of Jesus, his eleven remaining Disciples and the twelve Apostles of John the Baptist formed a Brotherhood to protect innocent villagers and victims of an ever increasing corruption of Church, State, and Monarchy as the Crusades and Holy Wars built momentum.

Descendants of the Brotherhood settled in France and became the Order of the Knights Templar. They helped to form the first banks protecting folks from thieves that also helped finance their quests for justice in the name of God. They were also the first band of traveling actors using a portable stage and their own plays based on true accounts bringing them closer to villagers that in need of prayer, medicinal expertise and protection along the forest trade routes filled with pirate marauders. In addition to prophecy and history using writing and acting, they also specialized in astronomy, astrology, biology, chemistry, painting, sculpturing, philosophy, religion, military tactics, strategy and swordsmanship, along with wizardry.

As the Crusades and Holy Wars began to peak in the early 1300s, King Philip IV of France, obsessed with power and control, tried to merge the Knights Templar with another Order, the Hospitalliers, under his sole command as 'Rex Bellator', the Warrior King. The Grand Master Templar Knight, Jacques de Molay, rejected the idea siting the unique systems, goals and styles of the two Orders. In a strategic move of power, King Philip had Pope Boniface VIII arrested and charged with heresy. His successor was poisoned by Guillaume de Nogaret, King Philip's Council to the Pope. De Molay investigates the incident with two other Brother Knights, Antoine Michel and René de Charney.

The Vatican, March 31, 1307 AD...

Templar Grand Master Knight, Jacques de Molay and Brother Templar Knight, Antoine, are at the Vatican confronting Guillaume de Nogaret with his actions. Two representatives of the Hospitalliers are also present. The question session escalates to a violent confrontation as an infiltration of King Philip's men is uncovered. Threats are made and the swords begin to swing. The Knights are grossly outnumbered and use holy magic to gather evidence and escape.

Five months later in southern France...

Victoire is an eleven year old girl getting bored on the small out of the way farm between forests where she lives with her mother, Monique, and step-father, Robert. Her step-father has not returned home after leaving on a business trip three months ago stating he would be back in three weeks. Mama Monique tries to avoid any thoughts and conversation on the subject recalling those dirty, sweat dry shirts he brought back last time and his jacket that was still smelling from expensive perfume. Victoire wants to know when Papa will finally be home but, she has no idea if he ever will. She sends Victoire to ready herself for evening bread and begins to sob. She is quickly interrupted by a faint but familiar singing in the distance approaching the farm. Monique quickly dries her eyes and looks out over the countryside to see a man approaching on horseback. It is her father, Jacques de Molay. A quiet welcome and warm embrace is shared by father and daughter. Suddenly, Victoire comes charging out of her room shouting 'Grand-père!' in a state of sheer joy.

Jacques stays a few weeks after a situation update from his daughter needing consoling. During his stay, Jacques has the farmland readied for winter by collecting and chopping enough fire wood for a decade, does repairs and reinforces aging woodwork, and builds Victoire a dollhouse. Between chores he has fun with granddaughter running in the fields, hiking and horseback riding, and even staring at the stars in the evening sky as Grandpa talks of the Heavens and the importance of faith in God. And to always say her prayers. Victoire, already a natural talent at weaving textiles taught to her by Monique, weaves a gorgeous scarf for Jacques with his initials, the Knights Templar cross, and lots of love. Jacques is overjoyed and impressed and declares his eternal love for his Victoire.

One clear evening outside, Jacques is lying in the field with Victoire staring at the Heavens. He points and waves his hand causing sparkling dust to dance in the air and to open ground spelling out, 'I love you and mama eternally, my dear Victoire'. Victoire smiles fascinated as Jacques explains the magical connection a grandfather can have with his granddaughter that, in many ways, can be very special. They hold hands with their first fingers together pointing out. Again sparkling dust dances around to spell her thoughts, 'Please stay with us forever Grand-père'. He explains that his duties as Grand Master Templar keep him busy and on the go but that he never leaves her or mama in spirit. Victoire acknowledges the great work Holy Knights do stopping all those evil sea marauders and forest bandits and proudly states that she is going to be a Knight of justice and magic when she grows up. Monique is now behind them listening and promptly tells Victoire, 'Oh no, you won't'. Grandpa assures them both that Victoire will find a better life with a good man and have children without conflicts of war. That is no place for such a fine talented young lady in the making. Monique notes how Victoire is spellbound by Jacques and never leaves his side, even sneaking out at night to snuggle with him sleeping on the couch. They also discuss Victoire's father, Robert, who has surely abandoned them.

Antoine arrives unexpectedly to bring word of the death and funeral preparations for Catherine of Courtenay, wife of Count Charles of Valois, King Philip's brother. He also gives the Grand Master an update. King Philip has used his influence to have a Frenchman elected as Pope, Clemens V, and has moved the Papacy from Italy to Poitiers, France where King Philip continues to assert more dominance over the Templars. The tears start to fall when Jacques indicates he must be leaving. He gives his big horse pouch to Monique. Inside is enough bonds and gold coins to comfortably find and settle into a new life just about anywhere when she finally decides it is getting too lonely and difficult to maintain the farm on her own. She can sell the farm and find a peaceful village with more to offer now that the worthless mongrel of a husband and worse as a father is gone. Jacques has no idea when he may return.

It is just before the dawn and time for Jacques to be moving on. He is packed and ready to get an early start on the journey ahead. Victoire storms out of her room fully dressed and packed, ready to go. She grabs a firm hold of her Grand-père and refuses to look anybody in the eyes. Monique asks her just where she thinks she is going as she continues to hold on tight looking down without a response. Monique begins to get frustrated having foreseen the stress and Victoire begins to cry. Jacques picks her up as she tightly wraps her arms around his neck saying she is going with him and that's it. Monique is firm telling her that she cannot go. Victoire continues to cry as she prays to, 'please, please don't go, Grand-père, we love you and we can't live without you...please, God, please, don't let Grand-père leave...I promise to be good forever just please don't let him go'. Jacques proclaims he will stay a couple of more days and sends Antoine on ahead with word he is close behind.

A couple of days later, Moniques demands her father leave before Victoire awakens and he adheres but, he is not happy with himself departing without a good-bye to Victoire. Victoire wakes up and, upon discovering that her Grand-père is gone, scolds her mother in tears and then runs off into the fields until she can't run anymore. She collapses in the fields crying and shouting to God why he let her Grand-père go with no more Papa, and she wishes for God to please bring Grand-père back because her life is nothing without him...please...as she cries and cries.

Paris, France, Thursday 12th October, 1307...

Jacques is pall bearer at the funeral of Catherine of Courtenay. Sixty Knights Templar are present for the major event.

    Friday the 13th, October, 1307...

At 05:09 in the morning, King Philip has a unit of his best soldiers arrest the Knights on charges of heresy including devil worship. Weeks later the violent and brutal interrogations continue except for René who is weak to the torture and betrays the Order on agreement of release. He explains that a different Knight is in the place of Jacques who escaped arrest. The guard does not dare tell the King fearing himself to then be killed

A few days later, military guards arrive at the farm looking for her thief of a husband who vanished with his lady assistant just before a significant buy out transaction involving a large amount of gold. The officer in charge cannot just accept a quick and simple brush off after the long journey and force their way in the house. They tear the place apart and find the pouch of emergency gold left by Jacques. They take possession and ask when her accomplice will be back home. She screams that the gold was given to her by her father, a Templar Knight. Those witches are in cahoots with the Devil and the officer wonders what kind of twisted enemy family they have found as Victoire then warns the guards that she has Godly powers like her Grandpa and that they better leave before something bad happens to them. They laugh as Monique suddenly pulls out a cross bow and demands they all depart without the gold. She is jumped from behind by a guard and brutally beaten and raped as Victoire looks on screaming for God to help. Victoire tries to get between them which costs Monique her life. They leave with the gold and with Victoire. Arriving at the royal grounds, Victoire is thrown into a cold dungeon prison, frightened and sobbing.

Due to a series of strategic blunders, the king is dethroned in shame and orders his guards to come up with a plan to recover the throne. Victoire, rotting and forgotten in prison for four years now, overhears the head guard discuss the failed strategies chosen by Prince Robert for King Philip IV now known as 'The Iron King'. Victoire chuckles and explains how simple victory would have been with the initial maneuver done so, then a more subtle strategy here and an offensive one there, etc, laying out a perfect plan of military tactic like an experienced warrior. Prince Robert laughs and chats with her ever more impressed with her intelligence and talent of unit planning. More impressive suggestions helps Prince Robert devise a strategy to thwart an offensive to take the palace and assassinate the former French king.

Prince Robert has Victoire released from prison to be his personal palace slave. She demands to know what has become of her Grandfather and Prince Robert says he will check into it. She now routinely advises Robert of war strategies that becomes the secret force to the Prince's series of victories that enables the palace to regain the throne in a two year operation with low casualties. He lies to Victoire about her grandfather being killed protecting the Holy Lands during the fourth crusade. The Prince is becoming evermore arrogant as he anxiously waits for King Philip IV to die so he may take the throne.

Victoire is again healthy and motivated with work and minor luxuries. Her real prize is the friendship she has built with the Princess even to the point of sexual flirts and innuendo and eventually a lesbian affair. The Prince barges in on them and explodes in rage and jealousy. He begins to beat on them and Victoire demands to know why he is taking credit for all the soldier tactics and the regaining of the throne when it was the divine visions she had. Prince Robert has Victoire again placed in prison for heresy like dressing as a man, using curses against the monarch, and talking to the devil. She writes a letter to the king but, too late as he dies of ammonia and King Robert has Victoire trialed. Although her intelligent answers to the charges keep the trial going for days, they eventually sentence her to be burned alive at the stake in the main town square for all to see.

She screams to her captors that she is the strategist who won back the throne with guidance from her divine visions and that King Robert is a liar and a traitor who should be punished. Victoire is tied to the stake and set aflame as a small public audience watches in disgust. As the flames and heat engulf her she looks up to the sky crying and begins to chant spiritual Blasphemy and commits Sacrilege severing herself of her family heritage and connection to God.

Jacques, now a fugitive on the run, can feel and hear the cries of Victoire as he turns back to look back at the shore of Portugal fade from sight and he whispers her name and sheds a tear. The eyes of Victoire go black as sparks explode and she begins to yell at the viewers to leave the area immediately with a very scary roar as a hard wind picks up. The group of onlookers gaze in to Victoire's flesh burning as she tries to shake herself free and nearly does to the shocked few still watching. A blood curdling scream is given when the flames envelop her leaving a corpse burned to a black crisp. The wind picks up as thunder roars and sends the last spectator home.

Only the court guards must wait to take a closer look. A few hours later, a guard slowly stabs at the apparent corpse when suddenly the eyes open with an evil look scaring the person jumping back. Victoire rips apart the binds and is free. The black undead corpse tears the man apart as the other guards approach. Victoire brutally and easily kills them all and has a feast of blood rejuvenating her flesh. As the dawn approaches she senses almost like an instinct to fear the sunlight and find cover. She runs quickly and agile almost floating until she transforms into a wolf running on even faster.

That is the premise and just the start for Scarlet Victoire as first Vampire Countess walking the borders of vengeance and justice, intrigue and betrayal, death and life.

    Giles Files 3: Sandmaenchen
story by Ayko with inspirations from The Trollenberg Terror by Peter Key and Jimmy Sangster, The Fog by John Carpenter and Debra Hill, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents...

Three deer hunters are in the California mountain range. A dark cloud of smoke forms and drifts towards the hunters as they run to escape it. They shoot their rifles as they are overtaken and enveloped by the cloud. An avalanche is triggered as the cloud moves away. The hunters are engulfed in the plow of snow.

The young Rupert Giles has left The Watchers Academy after losing his Ramona and gone on a world tour of backpack and guitar. While in Los Angeles, he is arrested for vagrancy and without a visa deported back to England.

The shared cell at the detention facility is a two story 5000 square foot enclosed area with a television viewing area, a dining area, solitary cells for dangerous or misbehaving detainees, a staircase to the second floor shared sleeping and washroom areas. Seven detainees are present plus three in solitary when Giles is admitted by duty officer, Miss Davenport. The super heavy and thick sliding entrance door with no keyhole can only be opened by electrical remote control requested per intercom. An emergency door with lock and key is also present.

On a train, Janie is doing mind reading demonstrations with a curious passenger she finds cute. Her sister, Jini, is reading cards for an elderly lady when she suddenly screams and faints. As she awakens, one of the deer hunters crawls out of the snow with a sinister look and begins to walk.

On what is supposed to be Giles last day nobody comes to pick him up. Evening meals do not arrive and Davenport cannot reach anybody on the intercom or on her radio. Minutes become hours as detainees become irritable. They eventually figure out that contact has been lost to the outside. Lobo, a gangster, has the other detainees strip Davenport of her radio, keys, boots, belt and they lock her up in one of the empty solitary cells.

Unfortunately for Lobo and the others, none of the keys works on the emergency exit door nor to the electrical control room on the second floor where a strange humming seems to be coming from. Giles stares out a very narrow window on the second floor looking out at a dimly lit staff parking area which is totally empty as a fly buzzes by his ear and lands on the window.

The two sisters arrive at the barren and scary village train station and take a taxi with a weirdo driver to Hillside Hotel along an eerie mountain road. The driver tells them about the weird Hotel and the recent avalanche area to stay clear of. At the hotel they settle into room 322, a family suite. United Nations Troubleshooter, Owen Brooks, in room 321, introduces himself to the ladies on his way out as they arrive. After a long and desolate drive he comes to the next mountain road to the UN observatory. There, over a brandy, Professor Mitchell tells him of the number of people gone missing in recent months along the mountain range and the mysterious radioactive cloud associated with each incident.

Impatience and frustrations increase at the detention facility. Davenport is being taunted and threatened with beatings and rape. Complaints of hunger and detainee arguing, intercom static and strange sounds from the walls fill the second day as the humming loudens. In the evening, Giles is able to find a moment alone with Davenport and confides to her who he is as a couple of flies buzz around them.

Arriving back at the hotel, the sisters grab a drink and join Brooks already in the lounge with his laptop. They invite him back to their room to assist him in his research further after UN archives show similar events in other mountain regions in the recent past. In their room, Jini reads cards for Brooks as Janie meditates and flows along the mind realm for clues and sees a forest range storage hut in the area. Suddenly, Jini has another scream to faint incident as the cloud reappears and envelops the UN observatory. Mitchell gets himself a large slicing knife from the kitchen and slaughters the other two staff members on shift before doing himself.

The unshaved and rowdy detainees begin to lose control of themselves and more heavy fighting breaks out leaving one dead and lying in a pool of blood at the hands of Lobo. Desperate attempts to break out by smashing things at the door and yelling at the radio do not help the situation. Ghostly chat with threats and laughing from the intercom increases. Outlets spark as objects fly around attacking the detainees just before more lights go out leaving only one light left on. A group of flies gather on that last light burning.

Brooks recognizes the storage hut described by Janie and they go to investigate. There they find the decapitated bodies of two of the deer hunters. The first hunter with the sinister look suddenly jumps them from the shadows wielding a glacier climbing ice pick. They are able to kill him. They ascertain that the first hunter waited for his two comrades to come to him.

Flying objects seem to target the detainees and brutally pulverize them. Davenport and Giles are the only survivors. Giles frees Davenport from solitary as a twisting sandstorm erupts outside. As the sandstorm picks up in fury so does the deep voice laughter. A ceiling window shielded by bars is studied by Giles. He comes up with an idea to tie the bed sheets together with a weight attached to one end to throw over the bars shielding the ceiling window in order to climb. It is the only hope of escape as swarms of flies slow them down. The deep voice laughs over the intercom. Flickering lights, fly swarms, ghostly voices, sand and wind blowing, make for a very frightening atmosphere. Giles repeatedly tries to throw the weight tied to the sheets just right so it passes through the ceiling bars and over back down to him so he and Davenport may climb out. One throw finally finds its way through the bars as the weight shatters the ceiling window.

Suddenly, Sandmaenchen enter the facility as the last light goes out. The two fight their way up the rope and outside onto the roof as the sandstorm calms.

Brooks and the two sisters, Janie and Jini, arrive back at Hillside Hotel when Brooks gets a call regarding Mitchell and the observatory. Janie and Jini tell Brooks that it is time to unite with the insects. Brooks is perplexed as they lead him outside for a bizarre ritual that calls together fly swarms to merge at their location. Brooks is in stunned in shock.

Giles and Davenport climb down the detention facility to the ground and make their way through the empty parking lot towards the nearest house which is empty. The entire village is empty and dark as the sandstorm picks up in intensity again and sounds of the Sandmaenchen again send the two running scared. They take refuge in the old chapel. The Sandmaenchen sandstorm rises upward towering above the chapel twirling around it but without penetrating as the ground shakes. Giles and Davenport take cover in the confessional. The rumbling subsides as the Sandmaenchen retreat. Suddenly, Father Greenberg startles the two and invites them in for an explanation. Greenberg’s great grandfather was a corrupt priest and helped the mob launder money, in the very chapel they are in, and had an ugly affair with a mobster boss’ lady as they ripped off the family clan. A huge golden cross family heir loom of the mobster boss stolen by Greenberg’s great grandfather is hidden in the chapel and wanted by The Sandman, the priest tells, which is the returning spirit of the mobster boss accompanied by other murdered mobster victims from the past.

Meanwhile, along a coastal California town, a thick dark mist moves in holding the souls of tortured refugee leper victims from the mid 1800s that are restless and looking for victims to torture. The mist envelops the area and slaughters the coastal townsfolk in one huge sweep showing the audience hundreds of quickie slaughters over a span of five minutes.

    to be continued…

    Giles Files 4: Boarding Room
    story by Ayko

Giles is deported back to England and banned from setting foot on US soil for five years for having no valid VISA. He gets the cold shoulder from his disappointed and concerned parents. In the heat of discussion, the truth of Giles being adopted after months of a horrific exorcism on his mother while pregnant and was adopted by one of the more renowned families of The Watchers Council. Giles grabs some gear and paperwork of investment bonds and a savings account. He leaves home and answers a newspaper ad for a countryside boarding room with room and board. He makes his way to the secluded estate and rents out the room from the lady owner, Marla Reed, who is courteous but cold and abrupt.

Over the next few days, Marla keeps to herself while keeping her daughter, Anna, hidden away, it seems. On Sunday, mother and daughter decide to have a picnic outdoors. Giles, returning from scouting the countryside, encounters Anna searching for her Frisbee that Giles finds. He plays some Frisbee with her. He even gets Marla talking although she remains very secretive. They pack and walk back to the estate together. Giles offers his friendship and company to Anna while Marla is away for business meetings during the coming weeks. Marla is reluctant but eventually agrees.

The three bond over the next two weeks and Marla offers Giles a job as Anna’s private tutor and guide at an incredible salary. That night, Marla is drinking and Giles gets her to open up. She explains that her daughter, Anna, and herself are the last females of her family clan still alive and that Anna is an evil witch waiting for her calling just as her grand-mother before her who Marla had no choice but to kill. Giles is speechless as foreboding members of a dark witch coven begin to gather in the vicinity ready to take Anna to her initiation.

note: yes, the climax(es) are excluded but, most can imagine how they would go...

    Giles Files 5: Darkening Age
story by Ayko based on ‘Buffy, the Vampire Slayer’ from Joss Whedon, inspired by the episode ‘The Dark Age’ from S2 E8

Giles is again homeless and decides to visit his good friend, Ethan Rayne, who invites Giles to take the spare room and stay for a while so they can get high and catch up on old times. The two friends also belong to a coven of dark magic that they formed called S.O.U.L. for the Sorceror’s Order United in London. Over the next few days the six members of the group; ‘Ripper’/Giles, Rayne, Randall, Tom Sutcliffe, Deidre Page and Henry Philip, party and discuss the ritual of awakening demon lord Eyghon The Sleepwalker. Each member would need to be tattooed with Eyghon's mark to summon him. Eyghon is capable of establishing a psychic link with the bearers of his mark and in between them, allowing the demon to track them down and cause them to experience vivid, flash-like visions during their sleep. He also manifested telekinetic powers while possessing others. In his true form, Eyghon can control all dead and unconscious bodies in his immediate vicinity. They would put one of them to sleep, and the rest would invoke Eyghon so it could possess the sleeping member.

Ripper: That is exactly the type of high I need right now!

Rayne: You are drunk, Ripper old friend.

    Deidre: Who isn’t?!

At some point during the ritual that night, the group loses control of the conjuring. Eyghon takes possession of Randall. The rest try to exorcise Eyghon from him but only succeed in killing Randall.

Eyghon: You're like a woman, Ripper. You cry at every funeral. You never had the strength for me. You don't deserve me. But guess what. You've got me. Under your skin!

The group rushes off, each going their own way. Eyghon vows to kill them all for disturbing him for no reason except the thrill! He approaches the entrance of a graveyard and sways towards the locked gate he easily knocks down with a smile as the dead and buried rise up out of their graves under the control of Eyghon. A distraught and terrified Giles watches it all happen laying hidden underneath a car as the demons approach ready to go on a killing spree.

It is quite interesting, motivating, and inspiring (as well as fun) to experience arts & crafts works that is being created with the spirit and life awakening with the starting ‘sketchings’. With ‘Giles Files’ (working title), I was just looking for a playing ground to continue the unfinished themes of ‘Buffy, the Vampire Slayer’ such as ‘The Old Ones’, Buffy’s love life, the fate of Angel, the fate of Willow, Xander getting his eye back (with a shrewd idea), the origin and story behind Dawn the Key, the Grand Grimoire (given to Giles of the film ‘Warlock’ that I have replaced with the NecranomicoN), the role of Dracula (lost in the ‘Blade Trilogy’ and to ‘Wes Craven’s Dracula is Judas Iscarot), etc. The comics may be good (or great) but they do not do justice to the unfinished themes, and weren’t meant to, in my opinion.

In any case, while having a little writing fun with Giles as a young ‘Watcher-to-be’, the seeds of the story concepts began to sprout (again). Just as with ‘SLAYER, Buffy Is Back’, I checked out the internet and found the Buffverse arts & crafts moving along with me but, this time in a more corresponding timing, physically, compared to Joss & co. in the 2000 decade while I wrote in the 2010 decade. I was (pleasantly but cautiously) surprised to read that Joss & co. have been hoping to revive the TV Buffyverse with a series entitled ‘Ripper’. That is when I did a little research and expanded on my concepts to match storylines and I have updated and revised the previous stories to fit but, I won’t bother to post them too. Instead, here is an update of main characters I am including in my story arches for a five season run (mostly taking place in the years 1975-1980 at which point Giles finally accepts his destiny as a Watcher with responsibility).

I also received a ‘weird’ message to make note about the black eyes of witches like Willow riding on power surges as opposed to white with the dark/black eyes indicating an evil force guiding the magic as opposed to grey/white being guided by good forces and not to do with offensive or defensive posturing as the ‘other me’ claimed. Also, I was asked to include another series that would work well for SMG. I have it. A mix of ‘The X Files’ and ‘Highway To Heaven’ but more comic book fantasy orientedwith everything needed for a hit series.

Now let us continue and experience the spirit and life grow and live as offspring of Ayko, Joss & co. with arts & crafts of the spirit. Enjoy (or ignore)…

    Giles Files 6: Hunted
    story by Ayko

Giles and the rest of the S.O.U.L. coven members (excluding the dead Randall) are being questioned by police investigators at the home of Ethan Rayne regarding a missing person report of Randall. The group claim to know nothing but surmise (a lie) that he is away with his new girlfriend.

Giles with a chuckle: Us?! Sorcerors?! A coven of the black arts?! Hahahahaha. I cannot even spell it.

Sutcliffe, Page, and Philip expose their worry after the police leave. Giles yells at them to mellow out and get a grip on their emotions. Rayne backs him up. The three leave and Giles exposes his own fears as Rayne gets annoyed with him and his lack of faith in the powers of their dark coven. Giles jumps at the ringing of the telephone as Rayne gets impatient with him. Suddenly, a rock hurdles through the window with a loud crash. Giles yells in terror as silence follows and nothing unusual is to be seen outside. Hidden in the bushes lays a demon sniper peering through a long range rifle while targeting open window.

As Rayne and Giles are moving to sit down, a shot is fired and a dart barely misses Giles ripping his shirt. Rayne takes another look outside and is directly shot. He slowly passes out. Giles bursts out of the house and sees the demon reloading. It shoots and misses as Giles clears the corner. It takes pursuit and catches up to him climbing a high fence where he takes a dart but still manages to move on as the demon begins to tear an opening in the fence. It takes one last shot just as Giles is able to board a passenger bus as the door closes and rushes off leaving the demon behind. Giles finds a seat and passes out tranquilized. Hours later, Giles is awoken by the bus driver wanting to close his shift and park the bus. Giles apologizes and asks where he is. As he steps out of the bus, he sees the demon sniper coming at him out of the darkness. Giles knocks the bus driver out and drives off full speed with the demon holding on to the door until a quick nudge of the steering shakes him loose.

A while later, the bus driver awakens and demands that Giles stop the bus at once. Suddenly, the bus is rammed from behind by a large truck being driven by the sniper demon. A wild high speed chase ends in the bus spinning out and crashing on its side. The injured Giles crawls out of the bus as the truck turns around coming at him. He runs off the road followed by the truck nearly running him over until it no longer can follow Giles into the fields. The demon sniper takes pursuit on foot shooting again at Giles. He finds his way to another road and is able to hail down a driver that takes him in and drives off just as the demon sniper gets close. It fires a dart that connects with the driver. The car spins out of control to a stop as the demon reloads and approaches. Giles is able to dodge another dart and get the car started barely escaping to open road. He looks in the rear view mirror at the demon left behind on the side of the road as he drives away. Hours later, as night rolls in, Giles is still driving disoriented but feeling better as the lady driver passing him gives a provocative wink and sets her car in front of his, waving good-bye, as she accelerates. Giles waves with a smile until the demon raises himself in the back seat and gazes at the lady driver with a smile. In a frenzy, Giles pushes the car to go faster to catch up to the unsuspecting lady. As he drives alongside, on the wrong side of the road, he tries to shout warnings to the lady who takes Giles for a madman. He swerves to miss an oncoming truck and wipes out in a ditch as the lady drives away. She suddenly brakes and turns around as Giles attempts to break free from the ditch. He finally manages to escape confused and scared.

Giles finally arrives back in England and visits Rayne but nobody is there. He then decides to check in on his parents. He finds his father alone making Giles suspicious. Suddenly, his father pulls out a syringe and is about to inject Giles but a fight breaks out instead exposing the demon disguised as the father. Giles is able to gain possession of the syringe and inject the demon. Before he can run out the door, however, the demon is able to shoot a dart into the back of Giles knocking him out. He awakens at The Watchers Council looking at his grandmother, Edna Giles, the council director along with ‘Watcher in training’, Quentin Travers, and a demon prisoner working off a debt owed to the Watchers Council. Edna explains to Giles that he has been tested while being severed from bad choices in friends that Giles is warned to break all ties from. He is also congratulated on the second best time ever being hunted by a sniper demon. Edna further explains to Her grandson that he cannot escape his destiny that will follow him wherever he goes and with whatever he does, and without protection and membership as a part of the elite family of Watchers as a collective force he will never find peace or any sort of rewarding life. The forces of darkness that work against the family clans of the council will always follow him and try and seduce him, use him to seduce others, and kill him if that is not possible. Giles explodes with rage and storms out shouting obscenities at Edna rejecting and denying his family and heritage. Travers remarks that Giles is too reckless, arrogant, and stubborn, and that some only learn things the hard way.

    Giles Files 9: Séance
    story by Ayko

In the forests of England, a band of enslaved demons working for Countess Victoire assisted by Mr Fieldings (not dead?!) are finishing construction of an underground lair that is as large as a Victorian castle with a similarly eerie layout.

Later, Countess Victoire bonds further with Lady Ramona as a sister of the darkness and instructs her to be more ruthless. The two have a night of flaunting and teasing with mesmerized men at a rocker club just outside London. A stranger ends up taking them to a motel for some fun which turns into a bloody feast that leaves the stranger nothing but a corpse empty of blood.

We then enter the world of professional modeling. Giles has obtained a job as bodyguard of model queen, Medina. The two share a philosophical chat regarding high society, nightlife, immortality, and other extremities of life. Medina travels to Hong Kong for a gig and has Giles accompany her. They are introduced to top Hong Kong model queen, Yulina. Giles is taken by her in all regards until he notices something giving suspect that she might be a vampire. Later that night, Giles confronts Yulina alone in her private dressing room using a cross to burn an imprint on her forehead verifying her true state of being. Giles dusts her with a chop stick. Dr Tang witnesses this from the barely open doorway and faints.

Medina and Giles leave for the airport to return to London. Giles returns to the home of his parents to make sure they are okay and, according to the neighbors, they are still away on vacation. Tired of Rayne, his sleazy girlfriend (always making passes at him), and their chain smoking (remaining true to his word to Ramona not to ever smoke again) Giles decides to pay a visit to Deidre. He arrives as she is with a fortune telling client of high esteem and wealth, J. R. Douglas, who has mafia connections. She tells him his fortune using private information relayed to her from Sutcliffe undercover within his business convincing him of ‘her powers’ that are strengthened with the additional presence of her ‘Sorcerer apprentice’, Giles. Douglas offers a huge amount of money to hold a séance to contact his deceased mother. She agrees and a date is set. Giles is to help with the scam. After Douglas and his associate leave, Giles and Deidre get sexual.

The next evening, a meeting of the S.O.U.L. coven is held to go over details of a séance mixing real dark magic they know works combined with cheap tricks that will rock the entire Douglas industry and family clan bringing a fortune in scammed money to their coven.

Upon receiving the news about his daughter’s death, Yulina's father, Yoy, a distinguished Triad boss, sobs for a moment before exploding with rage. He slams his fist down on a spider walking on the window pane and gobbles it up. He interrupts his ‘extended art tour’ with his ‘Lady of the Evening’ and arrives at the Hong Kong model agency demanding to see Security. He also summons to have Countess Deethe return from Thailand right away. The Countess heads an international underground network of occult followers and is very devious. Deethe is preparing for a major event with Yoy (who acts as her Mr Fieldings) and an underground army of vampires. Deethe and Yoy are no rookies to the demon world and have been working many years on global domination. The two discuss the circumstances of Yulina's murder, Yoy demanding revenge. Tang arrives and faints at the sight of Deethe. They awaken him and listen to his story of the encounter. Deethe is perplexed and has Tang describe Giles as security presents photos of him.

Victoire, Ramona, and Fieldings share a discussion regarding the system which will be used to spread out in global domination with a good balance of the human population left as victims and slaves. Ramona hides for a moment in a state of meditation. She suddenly declares herself aghast of what she has become. The three philosophize about the meaning of a new existence as a Princess of the Darkness. They discuss the strength of the vampire curse that make it impossible to resist vampire urges. Victoire soothes her with romantic gestures and reminds her about their coming global domination. They declare a bond which has strengthened and vow eternal loyalty to each other. They embrace.

Countess Deethe and her ‘vamp grooms’ arrive in England and scout the forest area as a pack of wolves. They observe the demon workers of Victoire doing all sorts of things in the area. Deethe resumes her normal form and grabs one. She questions him and receives interesting and insidious answers about Victoire and her spreading out of a network within an underground castle with state of the art computer systems. The demon worker suddenly becomes enraged and attacks Deethe who hurls him into the pack of nine ‘wolf grooms’. They tear him apart. In the Library, Fieldings is working the computer system consoles and alerts Victoire to an outside disturbance. She and Ramona go to investigate. A couple of more slaves have been 'interrogated' and thrown to the wolves as Victoire and Ramona approach. Deethe introduces herself and her intent to destroy them and their demonic network. Victoire suggests Deethe join her and their growing network of mind-mapped possessed slaves. Deethe laughs and scolds her for such a stupid suggestion indicating that she has her own followers and that she shall never join forces with a ‘slut vampire queen’. That would be foolish and unnatural. No, Deethe must crush the invading disease before it spreads. A wild brawl breaks out between the three. As Deethe begins to succumb, the wolves attack in a bloody rage.

Meanwhile, the SOUL coven is scaring the life out of the Douglas clan in a super scary séance ritual with all the trimmings including a climactic manifestation of the mother Douglas spirit that inadvertently reawakens demonlord Eyghon in the body of a fainted Douglas sister.

    to be continued…
