Giles Gets a Message Part 1

Giles gladly noticed the library was empty so he retired to his office, he tried to be relaxed as much as he could, he had a cup of Earl Grey tea and a plate of eight orange Jaffa cakes. He leant back on the high backed chair and put his feet up on the desk. The pamphlet he was reading was by an unknown in the American government the author of the pamphlet was Al Gore.

In the second chapter the author was speculating about the soon to be acknowledged global impact of climate change. He listed several instances of what the rise of even point five of a degree of sea water would affect the planet, of a minor rise in air temperature. Though which countries would be first to be made aware of the change of climate.

Giles rested the book on his knees as he thought about what impact the heat in Hell might cause to the surface of the planet. Willow was laid on the grass in the yard at the school, Buffy was lying near her amazed at the pencil Willow was causing to spin. “How’dyou do that?” asked Buffy. “It’s a simple case of controlling my emotions and asking it to do that,” replied Willow.

Buffy grinned and spoke about Faith, the pencil that had just been spinning now shot of toward the tree, very fast. It bounced off the tree to land on the ground at its base. “That was odd,” indicated Willow, she picked up the pencil and saw that what once was a point was now a blunt pencil. “How’s the emotional control Will?” asked Buffy. “Hmm what does bother me is that

given how sharp the point of the pencil was it should have stuck into the tree. “Have you got a sharp object on you Buff?” asked Willow. Buffy handed Willow a pen she used for calligraphy to push into the tree, using a metal ruler she tried to lift some of the bark off the tree. Much to Willow surprise she was unable to lift any bark from the tree.

“What is it Will?” asked Buffy. “The tree is wrong.” Willow went to several other nearby trees and found the same had happened to each of the trees. Sensing something was wrong Buffy packed away what they had in their bags so when Willow returned she was able to ask her where they should go. Willow picked up her bag, “Let’s go and see Giles, hopefully he can explain it.”

Giles became aware that he was being watched and nearly dropped the Jaffa cake he had just picked up as he carried it over his cup of tea. “If there is one thing you do not want to do, that is to dunk a chocolate biscuit in Earl Grey, so what do you two want?” Willow explained about the pencil and that it bounced from the tree on the lawn outside, she showed him the blunt pencil.

“Hmm, odd, as you say that should have gone halfway into the tree, what reason could the tree have to be impenetrable. Can you take me to see the tree?” asked Giles. He followed Buffy and Willow to the tree he tried to break off a bit of bark with his finger but was unable to, surprised by what he couldn’t do, “I have a few ideas. Take some company on your patrol tonight Buffy.”

She had not understood what Giles meant by some company, Buffy thought he meant to have people to talk with, what Giles had meant was some people to help her in a fight. Luckily she bumped into Angel, he told her, “To find somewhere to hide, I don’t know why so many demonic creatures are heading to the surface, those who lead lower beings are making a push.”

“I need to know what the actual reason is,” said Buffy. “Then wait here for a few minutes while I try to find out what I can,” said Angel. Willow and Buffy watched him go back along the tunnel. A few minutes later he returned, “I do not know why what is happening is happening but from what I have been told it is getting hotter in Hell.

The creatures who are making themselves aware to you they were once in a deeper part of hell, and they were happy there so what is coming onto the surface are unhappy demons of varying kinds,” said Angel. Willow and Buffy thanked Angel then ran to see Giles. Giles was in a quandary, perplexed about the message he had just received.

It was from a coven in Cornwall that he knew as friends. One of those witches had said hell was about to visit where he was, it told him to get as much help as he could. Giles asked Willow and Buffy if they knew anyone. Buffy told him not to get angry, “With Willow’s help I have been able to contact those up there, the Power That Be.”
“In these times I forgive you, will you tell them to be prompt in sending us a lot of help for you.”

That evening Angel went to and waited at the front of where Buffy lived to tell her that any and egresses from Hell was being used, even the ones that had been closed. When asked why Angel had retorted about an increase in the pressure of the walls on the oceans in Hell.

Angel warned Buffy of many demonic entities striding along the banks of the rivers that fed the lake of Hell, “Though it isn’t known what effect those rivers will have on demons escaping hell,” said Angel Willow prompted him to tell her what the rivers were.” “The rivers Styx which promotes hatred, the Lethe which makes the being full of forgetfulness.

Archeron promotes the misery of anyone who finds himself an intruder, then comes the flood of Phelegethon with its reams of fire and the Cocythus with the wailing. What becomes of the entity who uses the banks of the river for him or her to gain their freedom. Buffy said she would need to consult her atlas to find the places where water reportedly disappeared into the earth.

“One such place is nearly local to here, it is where a church had stood until it had been claimed by the land.” Buffy said that she wasn’t aware of where those rivers began. Angel started a list of the demonic entities that did not rely on humans to take their food. In the churchyard Angel smelt the waft of salt water, carefully inspecting the ground he found no evidence that anyone

had walked there recently. He invited Buffy and Willow to help him, nothing was evident until Willow began to raise the small church meeting hall from the ground. Knowing she was close she pointed to where the church was. Drawing extra psychic power from Buffy, which gave her the energy to raise the church, it was the church of the Goddess Proserpexa.

Giles used a dousing rod to survey the ground, he had walked most of the way around the church when he noticed the rod began to dip. Digging into the ground he found a trickle of water. “Here it is this is I think the beginning of the river Styx, I wonder if the river passes around the outer crust of the world or it passes through the outer tectonic plates,” said Giles.

Giles Gets a Message Part 2

During the latter part of the morning while Giles was preparing his break near the hour of eleven the notice of a message made itself known to him. Setting himself down in a chair he was soon aware of the message from the coven in Cornwall telling him of a group of demons who were going to be directed to control those around them, the apparent age of the group wasn’t known.

He passed the message to those near to him regardless of how vague it was. They began to look for the expected few they searched through data of the mythological rivers that flowed into Hell. They were able to construct beliefs that the rivers passed through the earth and gave rise to the specific emotive behaviours throughout the world. Giles saw hate as a river under America.

Russia and the areas east of there that would become Ukraine were thought to be of the river Archeron a portrayal in evidence of woe. The populace along the border of North and South Korea appeared influenced by the river of Cocytus as it caused wailing. China and India gave rise to the influence of fire in it populace as the Phelegethon raged against the aftermath of fire.

Africa was found to be the beginning of the River Lethe it was thought to be all of mankind’s excuses for its forgetfulness about the demons and other entities that strode along the banks of those rivers as they tried to escape the increasing heat as it rose behind them. Many times Buffy and Willow had attempted to stop the demons trying to escape hell through one of its mouths.

Several girls that were ready to be slayers joined Buffy and Willow. Giles was told to keep away from the fighting, his best efforts were to train the new girls and teach them what they would be facing. Buffy announced to Willow that they should be apologetic for being so effective that maybe if they hadn’t been more girls would have been found for them.

The next morning a sixteen year old male fronted them, he said he had been called to join the ranks of the slayer. Neither Buffy nor Willow wanted to accept that a male though they introduced themselves to him, Leonard, should be allowed to join the ranks of the slayer. He acknowledged both the girls Marion and Ebetha (pronounced Ebeetha).

“The one who told me who I would be joining said I would be faced with many people saying I should be a girl, then the figure, one of The Powers That Be said even they were subject to mankind’s rules, not to favour women over men. He wanted me to ask Buffy if she was alright to fight alongside a girl who was openly in favour of girls not boys.”

Giles faced Buffy, “I can guess what that means.” He directed his gaze towards Willow, Buffy grinned to him, “The more there is to stop the demon horde the better.” Later that day Giles set about teaching the newcomers the ways of increasing their strength. Buffy had them join her in channeling their focus on their personal development, Willow concentrated on mental alertness.

Provisions were set in place that would give a constant watch of the Hellmouth. Communication devices were given to each of them, so should a demon be witnessed to leave Hell that being could be followed then when enough slayers reached the zone the attack of the entity could take place without any risk to the agility of any of the slayers.

Initially that was found to be effective though as time progressed the numbers of demonic creatures and dark entities bordered on the unstoppable. Buffy and Willow persuaded Giles to try to convince the Watchers Council to send more people to protect the world. Willow was of the opinion that the council should have been much more willing. It was noticed though by Willow,

The members of the council had to be carefully scrutinized, vampires not in their demon form were allowed to wander into the crisp moonlight without so much as a hint of a mention by the council workers. It was also noticed that many of those vampires who were allowed to pass were not the sort of friend one might invite home to meet your mother.

Luckily though as the Powers That Be began to realize that several demons had escaped the clutches of them in the streets. The slayer was informed, she told Willow who gave each of those who were in the search to watch for any demons that tended to gather in the same place. Both of the new girls with Leonard were soon aware of a group of demons set apart from all others.

Following those demons they soon became aware they could communicate telepathically regardless of if they could see each other or were even on the same street. No knowledge was allowed to be given of what they were going to do or what the hierarchy of evil they were being directed by, the only help to Buffy and Willow was the belief the group were clones of demons.

Wanting to know what hierarchy of Hell had been perpetrated to take that hate to the world. Buffy and Willow traveled to be with the three children of the slayer mentality. Whilst the demons had set up in an old cinema Buffy and her team set up in a high rise complex opposite them, they used high powered binoculars to visually infiltrate the demonic lair.

Trying to help her Giles sent friends to allow Buffy and her team gain food and relaxation it was during one of those times that a long range photograph was taken of a young Drusilla and Spike. Much consternation was shown as to how the younger versions of them could be. Buffy sat down to ask Giles who the others might be. Giles gave Buffy what she did not want to hear.

“If Hell had sent forth some demonic clones from vampires of that time,” Giles continued, “that there was a distinct possibility that the others might be copies of Angel, Darla, Angelus and Luke though Giles was hesitant to allow the thought that a clone of the Master would be used.” Buffy disagreed with him, “It was likely that a clone of the master would be one of them.”

Willow wondered if there was a reason they all had peroxide blonde hair. Giles added a thought that each of the original vampires had spent time in hell, that it was from those days that this plan had been hatched. Giles had no words of wisdom the feather Buffy’s bed, he told them they would have to learn what the goals of the group were to be.

It was Leonard who made known a realization about them, he had been following four of them through the allies of the city when he realized he had started to tail them during the latter hours of the night, know it was after dawn and they had passed through allies in bright sunlight. Making them clones had ended the limits of vampires being sunlight.

Giles Gets a Message - Part 3

When Giles found out who the others were he told Willow, neither of them were anxious to tell Buffy who it was. Marian informed Buffy who it was telling her if she found out who it was without being warned it might cause her to fade when she needed to be upstanding, Marion told Buffy that the leader of the was a younger clone of The Master.

Buffy thanked Marion, she said that she would be more reticent when a fight to the death would be needed when the clone of Spike was to be faced. When Giles told her who the others were Buffy admitted that none of them would cause her to face her emotions. Partly because they merely looked like enemies or lovers from the past.

“Willow helped me through the times when I stopped being the world’s population and its protector against all vampires,” said Buffy. “It will help buffy that the places we always congregated are not the same places we meet at now,” added Willow. Leonard asked Giles, “Do any of us know where those clones of the vampires we know are now and what they are doing?”

Giles opened his journal of things to come, he looked to Buffy and stated that in all probability they would he going after somewhere to stay, as to where to spoke of Darla and Drusilla’s time spent at the wine tasting in L. A. and how much they enjoyed the residence. “They would most likely try to find a place similar to that, stout walls a basement and plenty of rooms,” said Giles.

Willow turned on the computer and began to search the Streets, Roads and Lanes where old large residences were known to exist. Purely by accident a road by the name Feratu was found, Miriam told Willow to look for a lot that bore the nos. six hundred and sixty six. Finding it Willow discovered it was a stone built farmhouse on a cattle farm.

Due to each of the vampires having a colour of hair similar to Spikes they were often referred to as the damned and not just because they were vampires. Part of the brick wall across from their farmhouse had a brick removed, a camcorder set to record was inserted where the brick had been in the wall and a relay was linked to a screen in the slayers team’s residence.

When the Watchers Council finally agreed to send Giles some extra finances he had the ex - lead singer of Dingoes Ate My Baby watch the screen for movement from where the vampires home was. With Giles and Ebetha a round the clock system was created and adhered to. It was in the early hours on the fourth that they noticed to be getting into a mini bus.

Unfortunately though because of the early hour only Leonard and Ebetha were on duty, this was believed to be in their favour as it seemed to be they were a couple out for a drive for the day. They followed the vampires to a country town where they noticed no wrong being done, though they were only able to follow one group of two out of three pairings.

Both Leonard and Ebetha knew their investigation was limited and were of the opinion that the vampires knew of the slayers team being there to investigate why they were at the town. The leader of the vampires was happy his purpose of keeping secret why they were there would need to be kept though it would promote the need to keep the slayers team in the dark.

Giles went to the town after several days of sifting through the information gained, though he gained little knowledge of why the vampires had been there, it was decided that further time be spent trying to find if the vampires had done anything specific. It was not thought the vampires had gone there for a relaxing holiday.

While Leonard and Ebetha kept a watch on what was happening at the vampires farmhouse Marion watched the recording of activity at the farmhouse. Willow, Giles and Buffy went to the town the damned had gone to, though there was no initial evidence of them having been there Buffy was aware that the town’s population had been prepared for the turn.

Giles suggested that each member of the town’s population would be turned en-mass. Buffy asked Giles what if any benefit to them could be gained from all the town’s souls? He was thoughtful for a few minutes. “Nothing has ever been written about that, I doubt that even the PTB would have an answer to that?” Willow faced Buffy with a questioning stare.

The Powers That Be sent a person to Buffy to answer that question though he answered the question with a question. “While no definitive answer could be given to you what I have been authorized to say to you is this. Given that there are seventeen thousand six hundred and thirty two people in the town, imagine that many slayer om the world? How long would the inmates

of hell last, considering that, now imagine what that many souls could do to benefit the inmates of hell,” said Hummer. Giles faced him, “None of my books has specified that, I’m reticent to guess at what the answer might be.” Willow cleared her throat, gaining the attention that she sought from Giles and Buffy. “What if a hundred more groups of the damned were created?”

“I will ask the Powers That Be to contribute an hundred more girls who could be easily trained to become slayers each week to combat the possibility that multitudes of groups of the damned be placed on the earth,” said Willow. Buffy added, “That the Powers that Be should watch how many of the damned were created and have the number slayers able to beat them.”

Passing on their suggestions to Leonard, Marion and Ebetha Marion suggested that owners of buildings be conquered to give the increase of numbers a place to stay, “How will we know where new members of the damned will be sited?” asked Marion. “I will ask my people to watch out for increasing numbers of death, the Watchers Council should do the same,” said Buffy.

Giles was caught off guard by what Buffy said, he hadn’t realized that Buffy was relinquishing belief in how the council favoured the slayer. “Why would you think less of the Watchers Council?” asked Giles. “It has been asked of me to explain why I should explain my actions to get information on how to defeat demons and help save mankind,” said Buffy. “The council are

meant to help mankind not threaten to help the demons end mankind, the Powers That Be ask what Buffy need and give it to her,” said Willow. “Okay there are instances when the Council has been run by unsuitable people, would you prefer me to join the Powers That Be?” asked Giles. “Not much point, the person the Powers That Be has at present is Hummer, you should

stay with the Watchers Council, when that place is run by someone who wants to help the slayer the Powers That Be might begin to appreciate it. Until then they decided they ought not give the evil any reason to begin to consider the Slayers team needed any assistance.” The vampires did not care as far as they were concerned nothing was going wrong with their plans.

Giles rang to get a team ready to leave as Darla and Drusilla were spotted leaving the farmhouse in an unidentified car. Willow, Ebetha and Leonard were the ones that Giles mustered to follow the damned. As they left several minutes after them the slayers team drove faster than they would have, rushing to catch up with the damned Willow noticed them at the side of the road.

Willow knew they had been seen, what she didn’t know was that the rest of the damned had just left the farmhouse to join them in the town. Willow was dubious but knew they had to continue, had she known a trap was being laid to capture them she would have insisted that assistance was at hand. Giles had informed Buffy and Marion that Willow’s team were about to be in trouble.

Giles Gets a Message Part 4

Willow wanted to take a few moments to be by herself, to have the soil removed from a hole in the ground that was about twice the normally required size a coffin would need in the ground. The amount of earth that she had to remove was placed in the ground beyond the hole, a plank of wood with the words The Vampires Paradise was placed on the soil in block capitals.

In an effort to trap and kill the vampires the earth had been washed with Holy Water, Willow waited to see which vampire was tempted by it. She was disappointed by the result as only Luke fell for the trap, he tried to put the earth back in the hole before he realised how contaminated the soil was and by what, none of the vampires with him seemed particularly bothered though.

Darla decided it would be safer to consider the slayers team knew of their whereabouts all the time rather than do as countless generations of vampires before them; consider that they were undefeatable, they even saw themselves to be untouchable. Darla considered it might be time for a change that encompassed the structure they abided by.

Ebetha noticed that the house seemed empty shortly after the vampires arrived there, Leonard and Willow agreed, they began to search the ground surrounding the farmhouse. Knowing the journey there was at stake Leonard climbed a mobile phone signal transmitter tower. When he had climbed the tower as far as he could he saw the vampires going into the towns meeting hall.

Left in charge it was the first time that Darla had felt the presence of the slayers team, that may have been the reason why nothing had been seen of them after they had left the cinema. The slayers team deliberately kept their presence a secret. Darla began to make plans to trap, capture or bite the slayers team: her game face emerged onto her face as she thought of a taste test.

What Darla was not aware of was that Leonard had seen them going into the towns meeting hall on the eastern edge of the village. Willow and Leonard had secretly followed them into the hall though what they were not aware of until they entered the meeting hall was that there was a meeting about improving the aged care residencies in the town.

Leonard was unsure why the hall was empty, even the damned were not there. Willow found a register of all the town’s people who were at the meeting. “Where have the twenty five people gone?” asked Willow. Hearing what sounded like a door closing they carefully went towards where the sound came from, they found a trap door in the floor.

After opening the trap door they went down to a tunnel that appeared to go towards the vampires farmhouse. A message was sent to Ebetha to find if there was a trapdoor in the basement of the damned’s farmhouse. Ebetha got there in time to save the towns people from becoming blood sacrifices. Neither Willow nor Leonard could be sure how many vampires were in the tunnel.

Ebetha was directed to close the trap door after the towns people had been freed, Willow and Leonard searched the meeting hall to find what could be used to seal the trap door in the meeting hall. One of the padlocks from the front door was used as was an upright piano, though when it had been moved to the trapdoor it was laid on its back.

A message was sent for Buffy to bring as many vampire slayers as were available and if possible as many stakes as they could carry. Giles brought several gallon canisters of petrol to fuel the flame throwers which was a good idea as long as they were able to put the burning wood out under the town, under the farmhouse and under the meeting hall.

Giles thought that fire might be best as they might be able to understand which vampires had been eliminated. Willow told Giles that she had been responsible for ending Luke prior to the damned going into the tunnel. Once the fire had done its work it was discovered that the dead were the clones of The Master, Angelus, Drusilla and Angel. Somehow Spike and Darla escaped.

Giles sent a message to the coven to notify them the only clones of the vampires were Spike and Darla, he didn’t expect a reply straight away, just to tell them the good news was enough. When the slayers team did get back they found several more girls waiting for them. Asking who they were the girls said The Powers That Be had ordered them there.

Willow smiled to Buffy, “More vampire Slayers and none of them are boys.” “That makes me feel even more special than I thought I was before,” said Leonard. Buffy grimaced to Willow, “You do know that what he just said is your fault don’t you?” asked Buffy. “I do not mind now, because now there are only two to get,” replied Willow.

“It is a bigger problem now,” said Ebetha. She breathed in deeply, “As there are only two of them do we need to attack them straight away as they may try to get away from here, quickly.” Agreeing with Ebetha Buffy ordered they search for the remaining damned in pairs and they are to keep in touch via the walkie – talkies every three minutes.”

They did not know it at the time but Spike and Darla felt as though they were trapped by the Slayers Team. When the pairs of Vampire Slayers set out to begin the search they were in fact allowing the vampires to escape from their prison and Giles was left behind in the prison where the vampires Darla and Spike were.

The first Buffy knew that something was wrong was when she tried to report in to give Giles her position. Not getting any reply from Giles Buffy and Willow went as fast as they could to see Giles. They found him the victim of two vampires.

Giles Gets a Message Part 5

Darla knew that she and Spike both needed to agree to their plans for their next move, Spike suggested they leave the slayers team alone and go to the next town to find others to targets, seeing the wisdom in his words Darla agreed with him. That evening when the sun had gone down they drove away from their theatre without any lights on.

After making good the escape from the slayers domain Darla turned the lights on the car on. In the next town as they were driving towards the center of the town Spike pointed to a café, “I’ve been there before, they have a potted plant on each table.” Darla looked quizzically to him, “It is just something I remember about the place,” replied Spike.

“If we get someone in the town center and drain their blood, we can put their blood in a couple of plastic bags. So when we come back and order a coffee we can drain the coffee in the plant pot then refill the cup with blood.” “Then we need to find somewhere to stay that has a microwave so we can heat the rest of the blood.”

“I wonder, will the people we drain the blood from know it is their blood that we be drinking,” said Spike. Darla grins to him though it wasn’t a nice grin, “The only wat they will know that is if we tell them,” “They are such a marvelous invention,” said Darla. “Of all thing things to thank the humans for, microwave ovens, are all the best that we can think of.”

In the latter hours of night as the light was beginning to breach the horizon Darla saw a house on the top of the hill, overlooking the town she suggested to Spike they go to the house on the hill, from the lack of buildings around it there should be clear views of the surrounding land. “From the top windows we could see who is near the house,” stated Darla.

One of the things I have learnt about these humans is that they love a good ghost tale so if we spread a rumour that the house is haunted?” “What?” asked Spike. “There might well be tours of ghost hunters,” said Darla. She looked at Spike’s blank expression, “We can stay inside as the ghost hunters will come to the house, they won’t expect vampires,” said Darla.

“We can enjoy ourselves by scaring the crap out of them. I like that, they will bring the extra additive to their blood, fear,” said Spike. That evening they robbed a service station then spent the next few hours visiting the towns pubs and wine bars mentioning that that they knew of the ghostly activity in the big house on the hill though they never mentioned they lived there.

It was that during the night of Saturday before a few people came to the house on a ghost hunting tour. Spike had gone out to drum up more support for the ghosts while Darla stayed at the home. She saw the people on the path coming to the front door. Keeping her distance from the group Darla was able to slam doors keeping the attention rife of each one of the group of ghost hunters.

She also had a rocking chair keep rocking while two ghost hunters were watching it. When Spike did return Darla admitted that she was a failure, “I have not found any blood.” Spike told her not to be so concerned, “By making the ghost hunters think ghosts are in the building there might possibly be future tours, in those tours we might get victims, with a bit of planning,” said Spike.

Darla felt relaxed, she had been put at ease by Spike’s understanding. “What we could do for the next tour is cause the last person to think there is movement in the woods near the gates. The snap of a broken twig should be all that is needed to get one of the tour away from the group, once that one has begun to lag behind the others he or she will not be missed.”

Darla was impressed at Spike’s deductive reasoning, she felt she would not be laughed at if she did the same. Her initial thought was that after the one who had been left behind had been drunk, that person’s car could be moved and pushed into the dam at the nearby local quarry. They wandered through the town looking for somewhere to stay for the day.

Spike directed them towards the town’s library telling Darla, “There were usually darkened corners where rare and often unused books were kept.” Searching the book shelves Spike and Darla began to be get increasingly more despondent, in an angry fit Darla struck out at one of the shelves and virtually all of the books fell of the shelf, there was only three left upright.

Spike took hold of the further most to the left book it didn’t roll either way, he looked at the book, it was titled Witches. The book that was furthermost to the right was a book about Witchcraft, the book in the middle was a leather bound book about Vampirism Throughout the World. Trying to move that book it refused to budge.

Darla attempted to lift it upwards it rose but nothing happened so she guided it down although it didn’t stop moving down each shelf down fell to the floor. Spike indicated there was the shape of an old-fashioned door, pushing it the door opened to reveal a set of step curving down. Spike looked to Darla who shrugged her shoulders.

Spike started to step down each step when he had gone down all the steps he felt the stone floor but he could see nothing, he spread his arms wide and felt a large rock pillar. On the pillar was a light switch, flicking the switch on the room kit up, calling Darla he looked at the books. On the nearest table he read the book that the chair faced it was about Dr. Nick Belartoni.

Spike read aloud what was on the rear of the dust jacket. Of his experiences of vampires in nineteen hundreds in Connecticut, though the vampire died in eighteen ninety two. Spike read aloud the back of the dust jacket of the next book, “This one is about a Catholic, Bishop Manchester of London in the late nineteen sixties.

Of his dealings with and the exorcisms of vampires. The book also has a few chapters about the Empress of Austria, Maria Theresa of her sending a team of investigators to seek the reports of vampires in the Austrian countryside.” Darla picked up a pamphlet about a man named Matteo, he led an investigation into a reported woman vampire in sixteen century Venice.

Spike was interested in the report, he began by thinking the vampire was that of a man as all vampires were thought to be men, though he later was given proof that the skull belonged to a woman. He grinned to Darla, “It makes you wonder about the slayer lore, they stated the demons roamed the earth in the beginning of time before man roamed the earth.”

Darla read from one of the pages of the book, “It says here that there are reports that tell of the vampire demons as being of a recent discovery. Who do you think are the biggest liars.” Darla grinned, “My vote is for the Watchers Council, they really did like speaking a big pile of crap. Telling the vampire slayers a whole load of lies.”

Right then, if we can find a book that likens vampires in the last five hundred years hopefully that will detract them from chasing us, that way we can disappear from their search for us.

Giles Gets a Message. Part 6

Darla looked at the books on the shelves, at the columns of bookshelves in the room. “Spike, take a look at the pillars in here, the pillars in this section of the library are wider apart than they are at the other end of the library,” stated Darla. Standing up and walking towards that end of the library Spike saw that the end pillar was too near the wall.

“What do you think to this Darla,” said Spike. “What?” asked Darla. Spike took several books from the middle of the shelf. “This book at the end,” said Spike. Darla looked up from what she was doing. “What about it?” asked Darla. “Well that is just it, it isn’t at the end of the shelf.” Going to stand by the bookshelf Darla looked at the book, it was as Spike had said.

The book was in line with where the wall appeared to end but it wasn’t where the book on the bookshelf ended. Darla looked at the rocks on the end wall and on the side wall, “they are not properly joined there is no mortar between them and the end book is not at the end of the shelf, so how do we knock the wall down?” Spike looked at the rest of the wall.

“In the center of the wall the edges of the rocks seem to outline a huge archway, I’m not suggesting it will be easy but that would appear to be a good place to start,” said Spike. Darla agreed then began to try and push one of the rocks at the side. Spike looked at the edge of the wall, “If you look at the wall from here some of the rock stick out,” said Spike

“Like stones to step on, as a ladder. Because if that is how they appear it might be that the top rocks are the best ones to move first,” Darla announced them then climbed to the top, she pulled the rock at its apex first.” Spike climbed up to join her and together they pulled the rocks from the wall and kept doing so, as they continued the light in the area increased.

When the archway was finally cleared they stood in the area just beyond the archway. “What secrets in this section did the builders think should be hidden?” asked Darla. Spike went to the nearest bookshelf and picked a book, he opened the book but all of the pages fell free, seeing the next book had the same dust jacket he pushed that one onto its cover.

“1s it me or do those books look the same,” said Spike as he pushed several of the books to Darla. She opened each book at the same page as the others. “Not exactly the same but very similar and they all are about the same subject, the beginnings of the vampires! This book refers to two of them that they had been created by witches because they killed a cherished daughter.”

It says here that they were ordered to never go into the sunlight of they would face severe injury as the daughter had been murdered in the light of midday, that due to adding insult to injury they were faced with only waking and moving about at in the dark. Due to an evil entity forcing a curse on them they could only drink blood be that animal or human.

Darla faced Spike, “Even back then there were those of us who inspired others to have naught but hate for our kind and where does it say how each of our senses became better than the humans?” asked Spike. Darla had to agree with Spike there was no mention of them being granted extra powers. “Have you ever seen anyone do anything that might do that?” asked Darla.

“There was one time that I saw Willow attempting to increase the strength of her powers, I saw a small rubber ball on the table in front of her. For a long time she seemed to just watch the ball with no effect then I noticed the ball begin to move across the table.” Darla looked to Spike,
“Do you think that was it?” asked Spike then he continued.

“It might be a start though I’d suggest we direct our minds to enable our senses to improve,” he said. “Ultimately yes, that will be our final destination but to do what is easier initially getting a small section of half inch plastic pipe to roll sounds to like it should be easier than moving a tennis ball, the outside of which will present quite a bit of resistance,” said Darla.

Spike accepted that a smooth plastic outer edge would be best for them, he did not envisage that either of them would be able to generate much energy to make the pipe or the ball move. Neither of them considered that the resultant feature of them moving an object would be so easy after the initial mind control of the pipes first roll had begun to be.

Something else that neither of them had considered was that the power of the mind had begun to take effect, Spike was beckoned by Darla to sit beside her. She showed him a book she had opened, “This specifies that there is a figurehead though it does not say where the figurehead resides. Mentions have been made of a leader of us.”

Spike faced Darla, he questioned her about what she meant, “As Buffy is the slayer though she is not one of her sides Angels. Just as we are vampires though not quite one of our Gods demons,” said Darla. “Does that mean that our deity’s residence is not below us?” asked Spike. “He is but he can be below as he can be above, it says more of that here.

Of the questions that are asked, not by us vampires but are asked by the humans. They want to know if they have a God whereas we know that we have a god, also they want to know what happens to them when they die also they ask are they alone in the universe,” said Darla, “yet another thing that we vampires know to be true.” said Darla.

Buffy was consoling Willow because she thought Willow was receiving bad news, as Willow explained to Buffy, it was that Oz was near to them. Buffy realised her mistake when Oz came into view. “Why are you here?” asked Willow. “Sorry, I was at a monastery near the top a mountain in Japan. I spoke to a deep space astronomer there.

He asked me to help him discover the exact whereabouts of a group of aliens,” said Oz. Willow asked Oz how some monks in a monastery could be of interest to Buffy and her. “As we soon found out the supposed aliens were not actual aliens they are better known to you as the Powers That Be, we discovered that they have been trying to contact us for some time but it might be

that they think we are not advanced enough to hear them yet,” said Oz. “No that is not right we have had messages from them,” stated Buffy. “And yes, I agree with you but we have not been advanced enough to have a conversation with them,” said Oz. Buffy stared to Oz, “I think they want to begin a conversation with you. “They do, so how can I do that?” asked Oz.

“I do not think that you can but it might be that the monk and I can decipher news of them and allow you knowledge through us to contact them. Inside the latest messages they were found to have sent you we discovered a hidden message of where the live so sending a message to them might be accepted that you are ready to meet them.” “Then how?” asked Buffy.

“In the latest message was the mathematical constant the measurement of universal gas is twenty one centimeters. As soon as we understood that the monk was able to verify the Fine Structure Constant was zero point zero zero seven two nine seven. With a spectral line of neutral hydrogen was at a frequency of one thousand four hundred and twenty MHz with the wavelength of twenty one centimeters, that is two lines of thirty eight increments East and twenty two increment North

Then multiply both findings by the prime number of nine thousand four hundred and thirty three. That will lead us to a planet in the galaxy that humans know as M thirty three. Should a message be ready for them the next time they visit earth they’ll give you the knowledge to begin to converse with them. Oz beamed to them, “That is why I had decided the time was right to contact you,” said Oz.

My thanks to those who gave permission for us authors of Fan Fiction to ply our unpaid trade.

Darla sensed that the book she was holding would give her more questions than she had answers for, Spike admitted that if he was to read that book it would do the same for him. Darla faced him then she asked him what he meant by that? “That book,” said Spike as he began to laugh, “Have a look at its title.” Darla rested the book from Spikes clutches and raised the book to her eye level.

“I see what you mean,” said Darla, “Of all the book to hold, I’m surprised you didn’t go up in flames.” Spike faced Darla and questioned her belief of what should have happened, “Odd is it not that if we set foot on hallowed ground it is said we will burst into flames. So why is it that if I hold The Bible I don’t even feel a tingling sensation in my finger tips?” asked Spike.

Mocking a look of surprise, “Could it be that the saying is false,” said Darla. “Just another load of crap said by the church to pretend it will protect all those who pray inside its wall,” added Spike. “If only Buffy and her mates could see us now,” said Darla. “The sooner we have left all knowledge of them behind the better, what say we go to a place they will not consider us to have gone,” said Spike.

Darla and Spike entered a multi-storey car park and ten minutes later drove out in some person’s nice new car. An hour later they were still in Sunnydale, not far from where they set out from. “This driving is not doing us much good is it?” asked Spike. “This time I will plan ahead, we go along this road, turn left then stop to plan the next section of our route,” added Spike.

“If we turn right before the junction then go ahead to the church we should be okay”. Doing what Spike suggested they were soon at the church.” As they were about to leave Darla took a map book and showed it to Spike, that place is as far as anyone can get from here. Let’s go there,” said Darla, Spike agreed and after the hospital they put some miles between them and where they had just agreed.

“This place does seem about as good as any other place to go,” said Darla as they drove into the camping grounds at the Lakes.
Having decided she needed to get away from the ridicule Anya and a mate from her vengeance demon days had left the bright lights of the town behind to venture out to where vast ponds of water lay.

The attraction was supposed to be to pitch a tent but Anya decide to stay in the car and do the cooking in a tent. As there was only one tent nearby and neither Anya nor her friend saw them during the day she and her friend were left alone, a welcome that Anya and her friend were quite happy with. It wasn’t until the sun had gone down and the light was fading that Anya saw her neighbors.

Not sure what to do she informed her friend who thought all her Christmas’s had come at once, she pleaded with Anya to keep it secret who their neighbors were. "D’Hoffryn will give me a rise in stature if I get to kill those two in the name of Vengeance." As dusk presented itself at the end of the day she fronted both of the vampires and asked them if they’d ever wished Buffy had never existed,

waiting to hear what they said she suddenly declared aloud DONE !
