Hot Topic: Should Angel have left the lawyers to die at Darla & Dru's hands?

I love Buffy and Angel, but it is possible to take the Buffy and Angel exceptionalism too far. They are not infallible, and they have friends whom they rely on and who rely on them in turn. If Buffy and Angel could do everything better by themselves, they should just do that and stop getting useless people involved.

It was definitely wrong but understandable for Angel especially at this time in this season. As for Buffy, no she wouldn't do the same especially with Darla and Drusilla involved because of all the history she had with them. She would feel that the W&H people needed to pay for their crimes but not this way. Buffy doens't like to play god and deciding the faith of theses people kinda was.
Though she (and Willow) eventually did the moment the scythe activated an armada of Slayers (plus her destroying the original seed and again with the likes of Jordan and her crew by the end of the S11 run)

I loved it. It subverted what Buffy would do.
And, since it was morally a grey area, they showed consequences for his actions, so it's not like he was The Punisher or Wolverine.

It felt so good watching those bad guys finally get it, literally eaten up by their own selfishness and ego... until you realized that Lindsey and Lilah have plot armor.

Sigh.
