I'm in work instead of meeting up with the craft group, so that's sad. Just tried my smoothie and its rather sharp now, wasn't like it last night.

How much does your craft group usually cost or is it free?

I'm listening to music and thinking about roast suckling pig. I have plenty of food here, but I can't stop thinking about about the pig. Well, I'm also thinking about roast duck....last time I had that was in San Francisco. With pot stickers and chicken chow mein at this little place in North Beach. Best meal ever! I vaguely remember being a little drunk, and "accidentally" performing the old dine and dash. But damn, those waiters were quick on their feet! They followed me to the door, shouting, "You no pay! You no pay!" I decided to pay, since they were making such a big deal about it. Jeez! 😅 Either way, that was one hell of a meal. Of course, I wasn't allowed to ever come back.

Lately, I've been getting a lot of compliments from strangers. I don't know if it's because of my recent (unintentional) weight loss, my new lipstick, or what. At Target I had two women say, "You have beautiful hair." Like, out of the blue. And guys have been looking at me more intensely. Hmmm. Am I giving off a "need to get laid" vibe? Am I walking like a ho? Are my boobs bouncing too much when I walk? Because if so, it's definitely not intentional. 😇

I am back to having a car that works! The Miata got repaired today for $223 (not bad) and it is back in the driveway where it belongs. The Subaru dealership said they drove the other car many miles out and back, but there is still the spectre of sudden engine shutdown and that is too dangerous for my liking.

@TamsinValencia we donate £1 per week, mainly for biscuits! But also it goes towards our meals out, birthday cards etc.

So far it's been productive, about half way through the housework, made fudge, cooked a chicken and had a weird time of day, roast dinner. Washing up is next, then I'll make pasta for work, strip the chicken ready for a curry.
I decided against making flapjack, but I've got enough ingredients to do another refrigerator cake later in the month.

I drove the path I walked from the Mazda dealer to my house and it came to 5.1 km which is 3.15 miles. I walked home from the dealership two days ago and walked back yesterday. I got the old ball joint back that had to be replaced. There wasn't much left of it. The steering felt a lot better.

I got the old ball joint from the Mazda back and it certainly was broken:

I have it propped up so you can see inside. There is nothing left to keep the ball in tension and the main force tends to separate the ball from the socket. It is propped up on a dark calculator pad so the camera will not reduce the light level and the socket is propped up on a stapler so you can see inside. The symptoms were unwillingness to return to straight ahead after a turn and metal-on-metal screeching noises on occasion. I was fortunate this happened on the driveway rather than on the road.

I put the dishwasher, washing machine, oven and kettle on at the same time and it tripped the fuse 😬 at first I thought my kettle had carked it, but then realised nothing else was working either. I still think it was the kettle that caused it, luckily I have a backup for when it does die.

I am tired now. Dogs have been walked, garden watered, washing on, kitchen is clean until I get this next load out of the oven haha. I want to mop the floors before I bring all the rugs back in, but Harmony is still not good on the toilet training and I dont want her to pee on the newly washed rugs. On the other hand, her poor little leg could use the traction.

The saga continues with my badly-done car repair at the Chevrolet dealership. I contacted them, demanding they pay for the damage their bad repair did, plus a refund for the original repair. Then I contacted the Attorney General's Office about it, which turned out to be useless: all they did was contact the dealership again, then shrugged their shoulders, and closed the case.

So now I've downloaded small-claims court forms. I'm still deciding if it's worth it, since I don't feel I can ask the new mechanic to come be a witness/make an affidavit, putting him in the middle anymore. And even if I win, I don't know that I can get them to pay up. They've said they will refund the original repair, but not pay for the more expensive damage - but even that check has definitely not been in the mail!

If anyone has experience with small-claims court, I'd love to hear about it.

This is ridiculous. They did shoddy work and should be held accountable by the law.

Washed the dogs today. Lilah looks sparkly clean and beautiful poodle. Harmony still looks like a dirty mop. I am clipping little bits of them as I can. Fighting the urge to shave my own hair off again too. It is much easier to wash when it is short!

No plans for the weekend but am pretty desperate for a maccas run. The kitchen is clean and I dont want to do anymore dishes 😭

I didn't realise that American fudge is so much simpler that British fudge, its just condensed milk, chocolate and whatever else you want to add. So sweet but so easy to make. No melting sugar and stirring making sure it doesn't burn required.

I just use a packaged mix. Add egg, oil, and water. It tastes really amazing when you put pieces of chocolate in the mix.
