However Kendra only fought with Buffy because she saw her with a vampire, they didn't fight again after it was cleared up

Maybe the reason why there was only one slayer, because it is in the nature of slayers to fight and destroy each other. Can two slayers work together without turning on each other? With empowered slayers, always had a feeling it would turn into a Hunger Game.
Maybe the reason the Shadow Men made a single slayer was to keep other women "in their place" - to make the concept of "strong woman" an anomaly - the exception not the rule? If everyone were Superman/Superwoman then no one would be Superman or Superwoman.

Ah, a new way to see why Buffy was upset that Dru killed Kendra. "Because I had to kill her first to prove I'm the better Slayer." :D :D :D
I wish Kendra was around than two shows. Still, with less than 2 hours, they were in a fight. Buffy was rude to her, challenging her into another fight and backed down, told Kendra she was the better slayer, told Kendra she would win a fight with her. Yep, she was making it clear she was the top slayer.

I disagree. Kendra was brought up very much to follow orders without question. Buffy was essentially saying "it doesn't work like that". Kendra struggled in both her fights against Spike and Drusilla (so much so that Buffy had to swap with her in the Spike fight) because they improvised. Spike has experience of killing two slayers so he's not a run of the mill vampire that Kendra is used to fighting whilst Kendra was completely out of her depth with Drusilla. Kendra knows barely anything about Drusilla so she wasn't prepared for the hypnosis, hence why Drusilla was able to kill her so quickly.

True, and it was a pointless death.

They had to show how dangerous Drusilla could be somehow.
Killing a new character with less than two hours of air time really makes her character more or less a worthless character. Just me, but having a second slayer, really gets placed in the back of the bus.
