I always felt Lorne was a very special character who didn't always get the credit he deserved. I mean, the guys home was blown up twice!!! He was really there for Angel, especially towards the end and his power of seeing one's aura came in handyso many times. He had a big heart (even if it was in his bum:p) and seemed to genuinaly care for his friends, always giving comfort and advice when needed and providing comic relief in the darkest of times.

Do you feel he was underappreciated? Towards the end of Angel it made me very sad to see his character become so depressed and cynical. Do you think he should have had to kill Lindsey? Should he have stayed after killing Lindsey or was he right to leave?

Personally, I've always loved Lorne! :stpaddy:

Lorne really was a great character and Andy a great actor. They should both get more credit! I also thought it was sad that Lorne became more cynical at the end, but considering the circumstances I also found it to be realistic... I don't think he liked the situation he was in and that he felt really crappy.

Yes, this is one of the reasons I loved his character and felt so bad for him. To me, he represented what I would feel like given that situation. I liked that he stood up for his morals and what he believed in but didn't let Angel down.

I don't think he was underappreciated. Everyone I know that watched the show loves him. I do think it was very wrong for Angel to have him murder Lindsey. Lorne wasn't a warrior, a killer. He shouldn't have been ordered to do something like that, but I see why he was. He was always innocent and Angel knew Lindsey have seen it coming, but still. It wasn't right.

Seems like maybe viewers appreciated him more than the other characters on the show...

I love Lorne. There are some people who felt he was overused or something...but I remember how happy I was when his name showed up in the opening titles :D. I also liked that he killed Lindsey. It made me kind of sad because I know he felt bad about doing it but at the same time, it made sense.

Lorne was such a sweet heart! ...and boy did he pack some passion! I remember being so upset about the Lindsey thing. It's been a long time since we've seen that episode, so I could be way off base in the way I'm remembering things, but..... Wtf is wrong with Angel having such a sweetie pie do something like that? I mean, I guess he was already jaded after how everything changed so much being at WolfRam&Heart, but that was like the camel-backbreaker. :( He shouldn't have had to sacrafice so much of who he was in his heart ("even if it was in his butt" :p), but I guess it does sort of show the honor we all know and love of him that he did. Also, he was the only one who could have truly known Lindsey's intentions in the moment (just gotta get him to sing a little diddy). I wonder if he wouldn't have followed through if he read him and found him pure-intentiony...?

My husband and I planned Lorne and Lornette costumes for Dragon*Con a while back (Like I said, we LOVE Lorne)... Long story short: My costume fell apart last minute, and it didn't end up happening, but my husband finally got to sport his green when he hosted Caritas at Can't Stop the Serenity two years ago where everyone sang karaoke and he "read them"... We're trying to work with the Dragon*Con track director to coordinate a Caritas or Tropicana "House Always Wins" casino-type night...

Needless to say, we love us some Lorne, and we are forever saddened that we will never have the chance to meet Andy Hallett...

Lorne is pretty much the reason I stuck with Angel for all 5 seasons to be honest. He adds a bit of innocence to what is quite a dark show. I think that's why him killing Lyndsey was so important, it captured the tone of all bets being off which built up to a really good ending.

What? That is AMAZING!! What's Can't Stop the Serenity? "Caritas House Always Wins" sounds like a lot of fun too! I hope you get to do it! :D:D

I love Lorne. I don't think his character was used enough in the earlier seasons of Angel. Andy was a great actor, and I will forever remember him referring to everyone with food names. :)

Thanks!!

Can't Stop Serenity is a yearly screening of the movie, Serenity, where all the proceeds are donated to Equality Now, Joss Whedon's charity of choice! :D

There are auctions, prize drawings, and additional entertainment. They have them all over, so definitely be on the look out (I'll post about it as it draws nearer), and join us!

I was always a fan of the character. Funny and nice guy, very charismatic which added to the show a lot.
