Poor Lindsey, he tells Eve he's glad she's the only thing Lindsey has that Angel never got to. Ha ha, aw Lindsey, you should've guessed he did get her:)

I have never thought about this and now it has me thinking. I don't know though if Lindsey was hot for Angel or had that kind of attraction to him.

There sure was something between Lindsey & Angel. It's probably just jealousy from Lindsey and disdain from Angel though ;)

I think that Lindsey had a major guy crush on Angel.

It doesn't mean that either of them wanted a relationship together or were in love, but there was definitely some tension between them that I believe goes further than enemies.

If Angel wasn't so sexually tightly wound, and Lindsey had a few drinks in him then yeah, I could imagine the two of them would have one steamy night of passion.

Hrm, that's got me thinking now... I wonder what would have happened if Lindsey had been around when Angelus was back. Could have been very interesting indeed.

Just read through this thread, loved it! I do think Lindsey felt something for Angel, and that he was possibly bisexual.

Don't know how he would have dealt with seeing Darla pregnant though!

I did NOT know that this was an issue or a topic for discussion, lol. I just thought that it was me and my non-BB friends who played with this idea, lol.

Anyway, yeah, we mostly consider Lindsey to be bi-curious at the very least. I don't think he ever had any sort of relationship with another man, but I do think that there was some sort of attraction to Angel.

I don't know, but I've always read a sort of gay subtext between Angel and Lindsey. Judging how many fanfics have been written, I would say that I'm not the only one to have perceived this. But there was also a gay subtext with Doyle, Wesley, Lorne and Spike, so I think Joss likes to joke about this.

However.. gay or not.. Lindsey McDonald /Christian Kane is one of the character/ actor hottest of ATS. I know it was evil and all that, but it was very sexy :p :D

Okay. I'm gay but while I was aware of the slashiness of the competition between Angel and Lindsey, I also have an alternative theory about the homoerotic elements in their relationship. Note, homoerotic. Not one hundred percent full guy on guy. And we're forgetting Lindsey's working class background in all this. Lindsey has had to fight to get where he is and then suddenly encounters someone like Angel, who gets in the way of his upward corporate trajectory at Wolfram and Hart, as well as his feelings for Darla. Probably on the road, he then hears that Darla has died in childbirth and that Angel is the cause. He then starts to wonder if he's been used. Then, when he returns to Los Angeles, he finds Angel has contradicted everything he's done or said about Wolfram and Hart and actually ascended the career ladder at Wolfram and Hart. He probably feels that Angel has metaphorically srcewed him badly one too many times. Even if the two guys are attracted to one another, which I'm not discounting, the problem is that Lindsey probably perceives that Angel is an untrustworthy bastard and Angel probably feels the same way- which is why, in the end, he decides to have Lorne kill Lindsey. I've never interpreted Lindsey as anything but straight myself.

Oh yeah. He was definitely bisexual.

He clearly had feelings for Angel. I'm not sure if he was in love with him, as he was with Darla, but there was definitely something there.

Just like Spike and Angel clearly have feelings for eachother and have been involved in the past.

Angel was Lindsays 'Arch Enemy' He was the center of his world because he was the one responsible for all the things going wrong for him...or so he thought.

Lindsay was not Gay, he was just so focused on Angel because of the above taht he couldn't think about much else.
Idk there's a reason why Lindsay and Angel's relationship got mentioned as complex in the thread on complex relationships. I'm not saying what's going on is that but Lindsay seems to want attention and even respect from Angel. He's more pissed off Angel sends someone else to kill him than the fact he's assassinated. Anyone who has seen the Lego Batman movie can see parallels with the Joker - say you hate me, I'm your biggest nemisis. There's definitely some gay subtext from Lindsay towards Angel deliberate or not.

Lindsey did have an obession with Angel but that doesn't mean he's gay. Your points really make sense but I just never saw them that way.

Let's just look at Spike and Angel. Wasn't that basically the same? They were rivals. Hated each other. Fought all the time. Dru just couldn't get enough of Angel (In Lindsey's case it's Darla). Spike always wanted to kill him and so on. Isn't their relationship quite similar to Lindseys and Angels?

And who thinks Spike's gay? Well, maybe some people. But all in all they just don't seem like that. And in my opinion neither do Lindsey and Angel.
I think plenty of people see gay subtext between Angel and Spike. I don't think Spike is really bi that and that his night with Angelus was just experimentation. His issues are more to do with gender ID (i.e. he fears he is and is seen as girly rather than being trans or having issues with dismorphia) than sexual orientation. It could be Lindsay has similar issues - he certainly has massive insecurities about mispowerment. But I think of Angel and Spike as a disfunctional father/son relationship more whereas with Angel /Lindsey is more disfunctional fraternal with I think a bit of a sexual undercurrent. Lindsay seems seek out a connection with Darla - is he trying to vicariously connect to Angel. Spike seems to want to live up to Angelus or Angel in Drusilla and Buffy's eyes but not to be him. Lindsay seems to want to be Angel or be the most important person to him even if it's as a nememisis.

I will tell myself he's bisexual because he is so freakin sexy lol :)
Yeah that's understandable because he is and he can sing and play guitar to boot!!. Christian Kane was almost cast as Riley. I wonder if I would have liked Riley more if he had been.

Spike is straight. I don't think Angel and Spike have ever had sex with each other because if that is supposed to be what defines "intimate" then Wesley and Gunn had absolutely nothing to worry about as they'd never slept with Angel therefore the wouldn't count as people Angel is "intimate" with.

My headcanon theory is that Angelus got really drunk, got into the wrong bed and mistook Spike for one of the girls and got really handsy before the mistake was realised. Angel and Spike never spoke of it again.

It's plausible.

Despite a lame attempt at retconning prior continuity because Joss got fixated, Angelus outright said he didn't swing that way in s4. I'm sure Angelus would have loved to embarrass Angel in front of the Fang Gang, so there's no motivation to lie!
