Ok, so I've started to practice nauli kriya after I had all those gut problems around December-January, and I have to say, it's pretty amazing! Really hard though and I'm not very good at it, but it feels really great after you've done it and that good feeling stretches into the day after as well.

This is what it looks like for the curious, I usually do it standing though

(It obviously looks different for those of us with actual body fat 😂 )

I am way too weak for any of that! I'd snap my neck lol. Glad it worked for ya :D
I have been sitting more lately and I am so stiff! I stretch and walk in the morning but at night I do a fair bit more tapping and sort of a shaking yoga, which I didn't know was a real thing til I googled it. I used to do it a lot when I was young, and figured there must be some reason my body wants to move like that. Its getting dark earlier and I have missed the garden since there is so much construction dust but I still say hi to my chickens and play in the pond with the duck and the bushwalks are magestical this time of year.

I'm struggling with my running, I seem to go from fast walking to running, but I can't keep the running up for long, and for some reason I can't drop down to a jog. I can jog on the spot but not actual moving.

I'm hoping I can build up the running side at least before June, it's just getting the motivation in the mornings to go out and run.

Have you tried intervals? I’m not a natural jogger and it helped me back when I was still trying to jog.

Basically warm up by walking for five minutes, then alternate 90sec of speed-walking with 30 secs of jogging. Times like 10 for a 30 min total (I like to use a GymBoss to keep track of the time). It is a good way to build up your jogging muscles and adjust your body to future endurance

That's how I do with the running, but I just can't manage it with jogging!

Is it easier on different surfaces? Like grass and sand is a bit less impact, so its easier to settle into a rhythm. But on pavement its easier to go faster with heavier impact - no spring to propel you at an easy pace so the impact does. I hope that makes sense haha it makes sense to my weak ankles. I find it much easier to maintain rhythm on the beach or river sand than on pavement.

Where abouts do you walk on the beach sand or the rivers sand, as wet sand has less give. It is a two way streak as not much give is better for the leg points, then again walking on dry sand will cause much more energy to be used.

Sorry should have specified damp sand. Waters edge or bush river

Not wishing to be awkward BUT, black sand, yellow sand, yellow (brickies) sand, as found at beaches. Each type has differing compaction rates. Then there's the river sand which is often the white sand that can be bought that has very little compaction. Hmm, bloody awkward, right?

Ok figured a few little food bits out. Foodbank rice makes me sick, but Australian rice doesn't. I have been enjoying having it back in my diet, makes life a bit easier. Fresh milk is fine but UHT or powdered is not. Brand name stuff IS better quality overall which make life a bit more expensive. I did get obsessive and confused with conflicting food information. Apples are great right now. I do need to buy in food from local sources or I simply don't eat enough.

I have to meditate and stretch before I sleep, otherwise I wake up cranky. I work best at dusk and dawn and have sorta have settled into that pattern bar a few times I oversleep. I am certainly one that needs to be in balance with nature around me. The moon has a major impact.

Its easier to exercise in the cooler weather, its great to warm up with. Heat stroke is much harder to recover from.

I need to start exercising.
I'm not overweight but in really bad shape regardless and I've been through a lot in the last year and a half, how should I add exercise into my day in a way that I won't slack off and eat junk food instead ? I walk to work and back most of the time but I know that it's not enough...

SO seen as diet is out of the question at the moment, I'm coming to terms with the fact that I need to get moving sooner rather than later. I've bought myself a Dance exercise dvd and some fitness clothing as I don't own anything like that! I'm going to start walking around the village that I live in and do this dvd when I get time and see what happens...it's guna hurt but it's got to be done. So I've got trainers/clothing/fitness dvd and walking routes mapped out....

I'm considering taking up cycling again, maybe early in the morning when no one's around! I've been really slacking on the exercise lately. I've not gained any weight but I think that's cos I'm a bit of a binge eater - I don't eat properly for days then I'm suddenly hungry and need to eat all day. Though I'd imagine that was natural back when we hunted for food, feasting on a catch after going hungry.

Cycling is great exercise, I keep telling myself that I need to buy a bike but then I just... never get around to it. It's a great way to get the dog to run off some steam too in my case… though she doesn't like bikes, on account of one once falling on her, so I guess I can understand her being slightly scarred by that.

Also, way to go @Nix sounds like a plan! I love a good fitness DVD, it's just hard to find the good ones, lol, that you actually enjoy and take the time to do.

Yeah I figure that too. I have a real hard time forcing myself to eat a certain amount of calories a day. I eat every day but some days its just a lot less. Other days I'll have 700 calories in a meal. My dads heart specialist said the 2 and 5 fast thingo was the way to go for heart health, and I realise I was doing that naturally before I started listening to food bloggers haha. My weight was fluctuating silly last year, but this year it has been constant (although a little heavier than I would like - its nice to have pants that fit every day!)

I thought everyone on the top of the earth got around on bicycle! The travel adverts LIE to me.

I need to start exercising.

My trick is just not to have any junk in the house. Some days I do go buy some but most of the time I just talk about getting some. And then consider the price and the effort to put shoes on and don't bother lol. Also, an uncomfortable couch helps matters.

I have defo overhauled my diet from what it was 2 years ago. I do get a lot more fruit and veg in my diet. I sorta feel crazier in the head than ever but others in my life say I am doing well, which was kinda a shock to me haha. I am an overly productive person and have to put a little more value on times I truly do nothing.

To be honest, I wouldn't count calories. It doesn't help you eat a balanced diet. I also wouldn't focus so much on losing weight, just becoming a healthier person. Sometimes focusing to much on losing weight will make you feel really defeated if things aren't going so well. This could cause you to give up completely. Just try to be a healthier person, weight loss if needed, will be a natural side effect. As for the calories thing, try to focus on eating whole foods, rather than low calorie foods. For instance, things like olives and nuts can have a lot of calories, but they can actually help you be healthier, and speed up your metabolism. For exercise, do something fun! Also, do it with a friend, not alone. You guys can motivate each other. Just dance with my girlfriend is a personal favorite! I am not currently allowed much exercise (only 30 minutes twice a week), but I try to have fun and dance as much as possible!

That's the plan :) Years of medication ruined my stomach, coming back from that has been hard. I just love having a garden. I get half a handful of strawberries a day, I pick them when I get back from my walks. The apples and pears are amazing. I should have a plum tree by next year too :D The duck stole 2 of my tomatoes but the neighbour gives me some of his. Kale is the most magical veg of the world ;)

I feel I am just a little too large to ride horses, and that's the most fun work out I know of! One day...

Dance exercise dvd
You inspired me :D I saw a yoga dvd and book at community relief today. $5 score :D I have had LOTS of people tell me not to do yoga cos its bad for my back, but LOTS of people said that about Chiro too (admittedly I had seen some dodgy chiros). I figure yoga might be ok as long as I stay aware. And avoid the twisty moves. I saw the childs pose on a tv show the other day and found that really relaxing so I want more!

walking routes
I am so super doper lucky to live so close to bushwalking. I can almost walk around the outskirts of the entire town in the bush if I wanted to. Its such a nice time to be out there. I have been doing some night walks on the clear nights, the stars are amazing. What's your scenery like? I find walking so relaxing.

taking up cycling
I had been avoiding cycling since the mirena disaster, sorta scared haha. But the horses are just a little too far to walk to and a little too close to drive to. My mum is going to bring down her old bike next time they come to visit. I don't know if I will actually use it. We used to cycle heaps when I was young and I appreciate the freebie but I am getting a little overwhelmed with all of these pressies. It might be good in the rain to ride to the shops on instead of getting soaked walking. I duno. You'd have more experience with that than me :p

I love olives! Maybe I should put in an olive tree...

Just remember that you can't eat olives off the tree!

I have to cut down on dairy, I way over indulged yesterday and paying for it today. I don't eat a lot of it at home but seem to always choose high dairy products when out.

My exercise bike hasn't been touched in a while, I must get back on it

Uhoh why not? I probably would have poisoned myself if you hadn't told me that lol.

I am starting to wonder if dairy in other countries is different to aussie dairy. I only buy local milk/products now. I thrive on it. I don't know how I would stay awake on my drives without my choc milk! And I cannot get enough of greek yogurt with berries right now. The berries make me poop green if I eat too many 🤣
