Peaky Blinders season 1: 9/10
My brother and my friend are obsessed with this show and I was kind of putting off watching it, despite loving historical shows and shows about gangs. I kind of forgot about it but I remember my brother being ecstatic when they came to film right near where we live. I honestly loved it, characters seem to make stupid decisions a lot but very enjoyable. It really gave me a historical Sons of Anarchy vibe (well if it was in Birmingham, not California) - particularly the soundtrack especially because the song All Along the Watchtower appears in both shows and the music has a very distinctive sound. They also have Tommy Flanagan in common, so there's that too. It's very dramatic, there's a lot of graphic violence and amazing sets, therefore I am happy.

2019 Emmys - I fast forwarded through most of it. HUGE nite for Phoebe Waller-Bridge: 3 Emmys (writing/acting/producing)! Congrats to Jodie Comer for her 1st Emmy nom & win for Killing Eve. 💛 GoT surprisingly took home best drama yet again. Dinklage also won again.

Gilmore Girls s4 - 5/5
Still my favorite season. I was going to say that Jess is still trash, but so is Dean, so I guess why I like this season so much is partly because it is romance 'light' on the Rory side of things. Overall, there are no real weak episodes for me in this season, I just love it all as is. Peak Gilmore.

(though, I know I got into arguments about this after AYITL when some thought that Rory should've ended up with Jess because he "understands" her… after re-watching s3, where all they do is lie to each other and fail to communicate or understand each others basic personalities - beyond I like this and that book or bad - and now after re-watching this season where Jess' "arc" ends with him rushing into the dorm of the girl who makes a pro-con list for everything in life, whose whole life has been geared to getting into college, who's freakishly close to her family and who loves her quirky hometown, he rushes into her and tries to convince her to drop out of school, leave her family, leave her town, and go to New York and do God knows what with him because… what, they like the same type of books? At this point I'm like, understand Rory, has Jess ever met Rory?
Not that any of her boyfriends are real prizes but the worship of Jess is really odd. He was trash from the start. Though he's cute so, guess that's why he gets away with it)

Anyway, I'm fairly excited to get into s5, it's the last truly good season. I still enjoy season 6, but I think from now on I'll just mentally block the existence of season 7 (or picture it as fanfiction) and imagine that A Year In the Life follows season 6, as it feels much more coherent for the characters that way.

Also, every season I watch is like a stab in the heart. I love Edward Herrman as Richard so much, it sucks that he never got the chance to be in the revival. I know he was the first to sign up for it, and I would've loved to see him in it.

Think this when the show peaked. First four seasons the best for me.

I recently watched Surviving R Kelly on Netflix, as it's mostly a documentary channel for me. Anyways, if you know the deal with R Kelly you know what this is about. What's shocking to me was the girls who came to and supported him at his child pornography trial (why not statutory rape?) ended up being groomed and abused by him too. I knew girls like this when I was younger, who would have went to his trial to support him if they lived in Chicago. Could have been them.

Maybe I'll watch something lighter next time lol

American Horror Story: Apocalypse - 7.5/10
Definitely one of the better seasons, I'd say 3rd place out of 8? Sounds about right. I adored the structure of it, how the first half of it turned into a lie/deception in the second half and I'm already looking forward to a re-watch because it'll be a very different experience.

Behind the Curve should be an easier watch. Have you seen either Evil Genius or Wild Wild Country?

I didn't finish Evil Genius, but probs should. Tbh I prefer a dark tale, I find them the most interesting!

Peaky Blinders Series 3 - 7/10
A weaker season IMO. The characters and style are starting to grate on me a bit. Its a little hard to care about Thomas at times. The finale episode was impressive at least and it was still very watchable. But I wonder if it peaked too early.

Peaky Blinders season 2: 8/10
There were moments where it got kind of dull but it is still a great season. I particularity liked the the Italian and Jewish gangs, they were pretty fun. Tommy's lack of chemistry with his romantic interest did get annoying, also the moping about was kind of boring. It had a brilliant finale, it was absolutely stunning.

It was enjoyable, not as much as the first two but I liked it. The constant nudity and sex scenes was a bit much for me though.

Agreed. I think the style of the show is becoming over done.

A strong start, meddling middle, but I won back around by the end. Overall there's enough style, good acting and satire to keep me interested. It worked better when there's a lighter touch.

American Horror Story: 1984 - Episode One
Really good start, loved the feel of classic slasher films, with the camp, the killer in a slicker and the surviving final girl. Though I do miss Paulson and Peters already, the remaining cast (and the few new ones) are doing a good job. Roberts is finally playing something new that isn't the bitchy mean girl and Lourd is, so far, playing my favorite character. Interested to see where it goes. AHS rarely piques my interest with the first episode, in fact the only other times that happened have been Coven and Cult, so this bodes very well.

Let's give this one a 7.5/10 :D

You made me want to rewatch Cult and it's even better the second time around! You should give it a few months and rewatch it. It's a lot different experience.

Peaky Blinders Season 5 - 5/10
Can someone recommend me a good show with Aidan Gillen in it? I love him! I just want him back! 😭
Starts off well enough, but bringing Alfie back felt a little 'Eastenders'-ish. What was the point?

Heartland. How this show has an "M" rating is beyond me. It is basically 7th Heaven with horses. Horses being the reason I watch it. Amy is such a stroppy cow and has absolutely zero chemistry with Tye. The ranch is such a fairy tail fantasy I find it hard to swallow at any other time than just before bed. A sweet little bedtime story and nothing more.

Fun fact the actress from the show was in my town last week for a farming show, and other actors from the show have been at my barn before

It felt like it had got to the core of the show. There were less useless scenes and overall it was as good as season 2.

I'm on this season now and it does feel like its got back on track after a iffy 3rd season.

I thought season 5 Peaky Blinders 7/10 was a bit of a letdown . Nothing wrong with the show but the larger story was unresolved . So it lacks the punch of previous offerings .

Peaky Blinders season 5: 7/10
It wasn't great, but I can't say that I didn't enjoy it. I recognised the scenes that were filmed where I live which was fun too.

Season 3 and Season 5 both seem to suffer from a difference in the balance between the type of content. Season 3 was highly over-sexualised in the filler scenes, in 5 that was toned down, but everything seemed toned down including the violence, filler scenes seemed to just be shots of them walking, they are beautiful but the charm wears off after a while.

I wanted to know all the facts before I discussed it with spoilers so I waited until I had seen it all to mention some things I wanted to say without spoiling it.
I really did enjoy season 1 a lot, but it seemed weird to me that nobody ever guessed she was a spy, she asked way too many questions and was caught out in multiple lies as well as appearing just after Campbell comes.
I wasn't a fan of how Grace's character was handled after season 1 since she just seemed to be a gangster's wife. However, character development for Campbell, Arthur, Esmee, Ada, Lizzie and Michael was entertaining and believable.
May was such a boring love interest, she had no chemistry with Tommy and that struck me by surprise a bit.
Also I have no idea what was happening with Alfie, he is my favourite character and I did have a feeling he wasn't dead for good but the lack of explanation was underwhelming.

I *loved* May! :') Do agree with what you've said about [redacted] though. I think post-s1 she just... doesn't quite feel like an actual character? I can't decide if it's down to weak female characters in general or just feeling the 6 episode limit.

Gotta admit, they'll do well for promoting sensible ownership and versatility. They make it look so pretty and perfect, its a far cry from the dry and dusty horse world here. Im saving my pennies for another Andalusian and they made them look like the best ponies possible ;) which is spot on obviously :p

Scream Queens S2 - 5/10
Eh. How does a show go from greatness to horrifyingly bad from one season to another? Jesus Christ. Pretty sure it all came down to the first 10 minutes when they totally rewrote the season 1 finale by getting the Chanels out, putting Hester away, completely getting rid of Grace (this one I only minded a tiny bit), and having Dean Munch open a hospital of all things. I know the show is ridiculous, but that was just too much.

It was saved a bit when they brought Chad Radwell back - but then they killed him off a few episodes later! Wtf? Also, not nearly enough Hester. They literally got rid of their best characters - except for the Chanels, who were just written to be way more cardboardy than they were in S1. Ugh. Never watching that again - can't wait to see S1 again, though. Thank god for that.

Gets back on track. Adrien Brody makes for the best villain so far. The twist in the final episode was silly though and a bit of stretch.

The 100 s1 - sad how far this fell in s6 :( S1 was fun
S2 halfway through, just about the nitty gritty of it.
