Hey there,

I'm a free-lance writer and a Buffy fan. I want to start writing articles analysing Buffy, in the spirit of 'Buffy studies'. I've written my first, and someone on a Buffy Facebook Fan Group Suggested I post it on here.

It's caused some controversy on Facebook!

That was a good read. Great job!

I tend to think that Spike's assault in "Seeing Red" can be seen as an important moment for Buffy and not just as a set up for Spike's story in S7. In "Seeing Red", Buffy receives two assault on her body, namely Spike's attack and Warren's bullet. After a year of anhedonia, these attacks jolt Buffy back into action and sets up the moment at the end of "Grave", when she tells Dawn that she longs to live again.

The pedant in me wants to take issue with your use of the term spousal abuse, as Spike and Buffy aren't each other's spouses.

Anyway, please post any more pieces you write. I'd love to read them.
