I know these kinds of threads will pop up every so often, and we see the usual responses, like the 'Out for a walk...' scene, the scene in Hush with Giles explaining who The Gentlemen are, Buffy miming with the stake, and so on.
But what are the scenes - from either series - you think are hilarious that don't get mentioned often enough.

I'll begin:

Mentioned this only a couple of days ago in another thread, but the scene where Riley and Buffy have their first encounter. And she says to Riley, "I'm nice to meet". The look on her face when she's realised what she said always has me in fits of laughter.

Willow in Doppelgangland, when she's in VampWillow's outfit, realising the corset has given her cleavage.

Spike during The Harsh Light of Day, when he's getting out of bed with Harmony:
"You love that tunnel more than me!"
"I love syphilis more than you" - the look of disdain on his face is hilarious.

Dru and Xander in Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered, and we find Dru now also attracted to Xander.
"Your face is a poem, I can read it"
"Really? It wouldn't happen to say 'spare me' by any chance?"

And Angelus aghast at what he is witnessing, "I really did drive you crazy.." 🤣

What are some of your favourite underrated/least mentioned funny scenes?

Haha, totally agree with your first two. Those two scenes always make me laugh out loud.

Offhand...and leaving out plenty of stuff I think many don't underrate...

Willow in Go Fish, both interrogating Jonathan, and then talking about it with Buffy later ("the trick is not to leave any marks"). Also, same ep, Buffy saying she'll send it "whence it came" and then realizes what she said and tells Giles she's been hanging around him for too long.

I know where Buffy stares at Giles dressed as a wizard on the opening day for The Magic Box is pretty much of a repeat of Buffy staring at him wearing a sombrero for Halloween (and perhaps where about everyone but Buffy discover Giles singing), but Giles as a wizard with Buffy staring is just so much funnier to me. I'm not sure why, it was just delivered a lot better.

Willow ranting on her mom (which backfires badly later) in Gingerbread (like with "See any goats around here? No, because I sacrificed them!").

Enough for Buffy (for now), surely I can think of at least one for Angel as there are many I can think of, just too likely to not be underrated. I vaguely recall where Angel first meets Fred's parents while holding a demon head that he has to pass off as a Hollywood prop (which, of course, it was, speaking meta).

Oh! I forgot about Willows rant in Gingerbread. That is a funny one!

This is kind of tough since people have different senses of humor. And it's hard to say what is or isn't underrated when it comes to humor. I personally find myself laughing at scenes throughout the verse that weren't intended to be funny but are funny to me simply because of the way the actor or actress delivers the line.

Here are some off the top of my head that I think might be underrated........

* Willow trying to sing Opera in Nightmares.

*
In Reptile Boy when Willow yells at Angel and Giles about how Giles is too militant with Buffy, and how Angel is going to live forever but doesn't have time for a cup of coffee.

*Willow walking through the wall and scaring Giles in Halloween.

*Anya. Pretty much anytime she opens her mouth at the most inappropriate times.

*Giles fighting the skeleton in Tabula Rasa.

*
The whole loop of Buffy working at the Magic Box in Life Serial

*"
Tonight, the role of Judas Iscariot will be played by Krevlorneswath of the Deathwok Clan."

*Angel as a cow, in Pylea.

*Angel's soul in a fishbowl in Soul Purpose.

I'm sure I'm forgetting several but that's all I can think of right now.

When Spike attacks Willow in her dorm room then has the blinding headache from the implanted chip and she consoles him about his impotence.

Willow is summoned by D'Hoffryn and asked whether she wants to become a revenge demon and it looks like she is about to be killed or tortured if she says 'no'. But she says no and D'Hoffryn says, "OK, here is my talisman, if you change your mind, give me a chant."

I don't know if they're underrated, but they're from an episode that is less than wonderful, "Into the Woods" (for some very good reasons, especially the girls want bad boys spiel from Spike). The scene with Anya, Xander and Dawn, then the one with Anya, Xander, Willow and Giles, which is where my avatar is from ("'I dislike that Anya. She's newly human and strangely literal.'"), and Tony Head - not Giles - seems to crack up when Willow mentions painting the tonenails of the chicken feet.

Cordelia in “Halloween” trying to explain to Angel why the others aren’t really themselves🤣
Then she earnestly tells Buffy “Angel is a good vampire” (Angel’s confused face🤣)

Oh, absolutely, but I'm always interested to see what other scenes people think are funny, outside of the most popular ones that are always referred to.

You mentioned one I totally forgot about, Giles fighting the skeleton! Too funny.

The scene at the end of Guise will be Guise when Virginia's dad was planning to sacrifice her - everybody is talking about what is going on and Angel just keeps muttering that he is not a eunoch.

The scenes in Some Assembly Required where Giles is asking Jenny out - first when he is practicing with the chair and then when he is actually doing it.

I love a lot of Oz's understated one liners like in Living Conditions (?) when Buffy is angry and smashes the bench and Oz says On the plus side you’ve killed the bench which was looking shifty

Spike programming the BuffyBot to tell people Angel is Bloody stupid

Giles as a demon chasing Maggie Walsh

When Giles says to Spike his life flashed before his eyes and Spike says "Cup of tea, cup of tea, almost got shagged, cup of tea"

When Flute rips up Buffy's record and gives her a clean sheet, and then tries to tape it back together

Might not be PC anymore but when Willow says Xanders's number is 1-800-Im dating a skanky ho

"Xander, don’t speak Latin in front of the books"

Not sure its underrated but when Buffy reads Joyce's mind and says "You slept with Giles", "On top of a police car" "Twice" while Joyce is running out of the room, and later when she tells Giles and he walks into a tree

I think I was in tears from laughing so hard the first time I saw Giles chase Maggie

A line from Out of Mind, Out of Sight which always makes me giggle, just from Nick Brendon's delivery:

Giles: I've never actually heard of anyone attacked by a lone baseball bat before.
Xander: Maybe it's a vampire bat.

Another small moment from Season One that I think is so well played is the cold opening of Witch, with Giles very seriously ranting about how Buffy has a sacred duty and how on earth can she enslave herself to a cult, and then the camera pans to Buffy:

Another one related to "Band Candy"; when Buffy wants to tie up Ethan and Joyce shyly pulls out a pair of handcuffs. Because the "Earshot" revelation makes that even better. Or worse, if you're Buffy...

for me it’s the scene in the body where buffy is washing the dishes and starts sobbing to some of the cheeriest music ever …. I can’t help but shamefully giggle everytime i’m rewatching,, I think the contrast of having such a heavy episode and then being blasted with the most upbeat happy music paired with some pretty dramatic crying is unintentionally a bit funny

Xander's description of Spike in Intervention.

"We understand why you're having sex with Spike, he is dark and mysterious and compact and well muscled."

"Okay I'm not having sex with Spike but I'm starting to think you are."

Also lots of Buffybot moments.

"It's Spike and he's wearing the coat."

"It wasn't one time, it was lots of times."

The explanations about alternate universes in the less than great "Superstar". Earlier, Anya has, for some reason, chosen shrimp as a way of explaining them to Buffy. Which then leads to this exchange with the others.

Anya: Say you really like shrimp a lot. Or we could say you don't like shrimp at all. "Blah, I wish there weren't any shrimp" you would say to yourself...
Buffy: Stop, you're saying it wrong! I think that Jonathan may be doing something so that he's manipulating the world and we're all, like, his pawns.
Anya: Or prawns.
Buffy: Stop with the shrimp!
