 She barged into the vice-principal’s office, past the secretary’s empty desk. “All right, what’s going on here?”
Wesley looked up from the book he was reading. “Ah, yes, Buffy.”
She slammed her backpack down on his desk. “Funny thing happened to me on the way to English class…dead guy, holes in the neck, drained of blood…ring any bells?”
Wesley shut his book and put it down, shaking his head. “I thought this might happen.”
Buffy was incensed. “Well I certainly didn’t! I just moved here. I’m thinking about making friends, not flunking out of school, the horror of being referred to as a “Midwesterner” – but vampires, nope, didn’t sign on for it.” |
