I downloaded Gimp yesterday and I have been playing around with it. Here are some that I have done (they arent that good, hopefully I will get better)

(Can someone help, everytime I save it the pic looks fine, but then when i go to pictures, the pic look like i used oil/paint or something, why is it doing that? like in this pic )
 
Very nice for your first time... To your question, I see your saving as GIF... Unless your saving flat colours GIF is a no-no for gradients and levels in photos is there not a function in Gimp to save as Jpeg? from the sound of it that's where your getting that effect from... in the saving process.

There should be a setting tab when you save, just check to see if your saving as a Jpeg and not GIF and that should sort it out.
 
I was gonna second what evo said... The works look great, but you need to try to save to a different format to enhance the quality. 😀 GREAT first-time work! 😀
 
Very nice, your blending is great for your first pieces.

I'd recommend saving as .PNG rather than .GIF, the quality will be far better when you upload to the web. .JPG is the middle ground, it'll look better than .GIF, but .PNG is the one to go for.

Oh wow, i'm loving your stuff...my favorite I think is the doubles one lol seeing double willow, buffy and xander all in one banner it made me do a double take lol
 
aw, they're lovely. I like the ones with Anya best. and the one with Cordy, my her smile just takes my breath away a little

Oh, wow, I LOVE the one of the light hitting Dawn... So cool! I've never seen anyone use THAT moment from the ep before!
 
I love those! 🙂 That moment between Xander and Dawn always gets me!
