Hey guys, i'v always been a huge!! buffy fan, but i never got into the comics. and would like to start to buy them, how many of them would i need catch up on? For like Season 8? Do they come in the form of books or are like like Magazines? Also where could i buy them from? Any info would be greatfully loved! Pleasee help. xx
Holly-xoxox 🙂 xxxx Much love <3

I would like to know the same thing please! I regret not getting into the comics when the first came out, soo if anyone knows where I can buy all comics from it would be much appreciated! 🙂

I would highly recommend that those who have not read the comics look for a sampling online so you can see if you'd dig them before spending your money. There seems to be a pretty even 50/50 split between fans who revile the comics and those who...revile them less. I gave up after 5 issues. They're terrible.

I got my copies at my local Borders Bookstore. It's cheaper to get the Paperback versions, which reprints the original issues into books. As of now, there are 18 issues, with one new issue being released every month until Issue 40.

So I would suggest getting these:
Season Eight, Volume 1: The Long Way Home (reprints #1-#5)
Season Eight, Volume 2: No Future for You (reprints #6-#10)
Season Eight, Volume 3: Wolves at the Gate (reprints #11-#15)

Also, try asking your local library if they have copies. You can check them out for free!

I highly recommend all of the Season 8 comics. Just don't expect them to be a seamless continuation of the TV show... Joss had no budget restraints or network censorship to deal with this time around. I think he, Brian Vaughan and Drew Goddard have done an excellent job. YMMV.

I suggest you buy the Paperback versions, they're cheeper and the longer arcs are complete in them. I also suggest you don't listen to others' opinion on them. Read all the stories out there then make your judgement. Remember that the first episode of Buffy is never perfect, so it's better to read everything. If I'd base S5 on Buffy vs Dracula, I'd have missed an awesome season. Keep this attitude while reading 🙂

I read quite a lot of comics in quite a large variety... and I have to say, I've never been so eager to get a new issue as I am for this upcoming issue of Season 8. It's drawn me in to the point that I'll be impatient all day at work on Wednesday, waiting to run down to the comic shop after work and grab my copy. I actually feel an emotional investment in what's going to happen next. That seldom happens, to anywhere near that degree, in the other comics I read.

From what I understand and have seen, you can buy them seperately (as well as back issues) at any comic book store or in the three collected volumes at barnes and noble.
I'm behind, I'm only read through issue #10.
I like the collected volumes myself, and I'm waiting for the third one from the library now.

Here's a link to buy them:
Amazon.com: buffy season 8
You can get each volume for about 8 bucks on Amazon 🙂

hope this helps!

Very true. I can't say I love them, yet I have a perverse desire to read them. I did start reading the Angel ones - and I must say, they're better in my opinion.

You should read them in this order:
The Long Way Home
No Future For You
Wolves At the Gate

The fourth one will be called Time Of Your Life, but we don't know yet when it will be published... the final issue of this story comes out tomorrow.
