A little bit of fun. Not sure how well it'll work but we'll see.

Each week we will start a new letter, and post drabbles based on that letter.

So this week is A, and next Friday we will start B.

So drabbles based around A, Angel, Anya, Apocalypse etc.
Post automatically merged:

Maybe up to 250 words, keep it short but no strict limit.

100 word drabbles? Or just short fics?
Anya and Buffy were at a table together in the Bronze. Buffy looked pensive and as if she had something on her mind, and finally spoke. "Anya?" she started.

"Yes?" Anya replied.

"You saw bad relationships during your time as a vengeance demon didn't you?"

"Yes. I saw men treat women badly in every way you can imagine, and many you cannot."

Buffy paused for a bit, and Anya waited for Buffy to get to what was really on her mind.

"Anya?" Buffy asked again.

"Yes?"

"With your experience... do you think my relationships have been good?"

Anya paused to think herself before responding. "'No' just does not seem a strong enough word," she concluded.

A

Apocalypse

Another apocalypse, Giles thought there should be some kind of payrise or at least a bonus for dealing with these. If he was still getting paid that was. However he'd been fired, and he blew up his other job, so here he was dealing with another apocalypse without any pay, and with the Watcher's Council asking him to return to England. They didn't know what Sunnydale was like, and since Buffy refused to work with then, another Watcher was not going to be sent here. So he continued on, he'll find another job one day, one without the need to babysit a blonde vampire.

On to B, will you go with Buffy or another B, like the Bronze?

B

Is for Buffy

"You should avoid him," Buffy heard a vaguely familiar voice say from behind her as she was looking across the room at Parker. Buffy turned around and saw Anya behind her.

"Anya?" Buffy said. "You've come back?"

"Yes. I came back to find Xander, because I couldn't stop thinking about him. In my dreams, sometimes he was all naked. But he hasn't come back to Sunnydale." Anya looked sad at that, then brightened up. "But then I thought of you. I sought out Giles and he told me where you were." She paused. "That boy you are looking at..."

"Parker?" Buffy interjected.

"Is that his name? I visited vengeance on many men like Parker when I was a vengeance demon. You should avoid him. He will use you up and cast you aside."

"Thanks. I think," Buffy replied. Then what Anya had said prior to that started to sink in. *She was dreaming of Xander naked... and when he wasn't around, she started thinking about me... wait, what?*

"Anya... why exactly were you looking for me?" Buffy asked, uncertain she wanted to know the answer.

"To see you, of course. You are attractive. Surely you know that?"

"You find me attractive... oh god..."

"I know you are interested in women as well as men. I heard about you and Faith. I am interested in both too."

"Oh god..."

B is for

Bugger me said Giles, using those dulcit English tones as he does,
though not in that way that you might, or might not be thinking.

I am to old to even consider that,
I doubt if this old ticker of mine could keep up with such a reign of punishment
such as that.

The dancing that Buffy and Faith do is much to strenuous for me.
Now Xander,

Xander does have that, err no

I did not mean Xander and I either.

Although if I was to say Willow,
that would make folk think twice.

Another way to make folk cringe is to contemplate a threesome of Willow, Dawn and myself,
in a platonic way of course - ha ha.

Knowing that my humour is English not American and therefore so much better
I do like to think of that steak and kidney pairing; Spike and Kennedy.

The thought of them two doing the deed fills my head with mirth,
the deed being the staking of vampires that is.

Kennedy would never stop talking about doing the deed with Spike and
if she did stop
Spike would never stop going on about the times that he and Buffy finished off what Angel did not.

Cordelia, Connor, Cordelia with Connor?

Is for Connor

Anya came down into the lobby of the Hyperion again.

"Do you need more batteries?" Connor asked. He was the only person in the lobby and it looked like he'd been waiting for her.

"Not this time," Anya told him. "Do you know where I can find some maple syrup?"

"Um... maybe," Connor said. "There's a shop just around the corner." And I don't think I'm going to ask what she needs maple syrup for. Maybe she just likes it on her pancakes? Nope, not going to ask.

"Thank you," Anya said. She paused. "Were you waiting for me? It looked like you were."

"Well... maybe. Okay, yeah. You mentioned your friend Hallie before. The one you want to Quor'toth with?"

"Yes, Halfrek."

"Oh... Hallie is just a nickname? Was she a vengeance demon too?"

"Hallie still is," Anya told him. "Though she specialises in different things to me. Why?"

"Um... I was wondering... she sounds interesting... could you introduce me?" Conner asked. I really do have a problem, he thought.

"Sure!" Anya told him. "She's a lot of fun! And she knows a lot!"

This may be a lot of fun. Or very stupid, Connor thought. I wish I knew which.

C is for Christmas!

Christmas time and Angel felt he should get the team something or even see if they wanted to spend it together.

Cordelia, he knew, would not be visiting her family, her father's arrest had shaken her more than her let on. Christmases of the past were no doubt filled with trips away and expensive presents. Now she would be alone at home if you didn't count Dennis, he would keep her company, but as a ghost he couldn't buy her gifts, or sing the cheesy Christmas tunes he'd heard on the radio.

Would he like to go to her apartment though? To sit there and watch Christmas movies or listen to the cheery music. If he was honest, then no, I'd rather stay home, alone, besides she could always call him or come over if she wanted company.

A dark one with Darla or Drusilla, perhaps a delightful Dawn drabble. It's D week.

“Chaos is one thing we're generally against,” Giles agreed as he sipped his tea.

“Then our alignment with the cards compels us to battle,” Xander quipped. He knew they had persuaded the librarian to play, though little persuasion was necessary.

Xander excitedly placed the large box on the table. He removed the lid, adorned with only simple white text: Cards Against Chaos (Even the name is a lie). As everyone gathered round, Giles felt grateful to have the group still demanding he attempt the latest fad with them all. As laughter and joy filled the space, the text on the cards suddenly gained an ominous green glow. An unexpected old friend was about to crash this birthday party.

...
I'm sorry this was late. Try to imagine I was late on purpose to match the theme of the story.

D

is for Drusilla

Drusilla looked at the Tarot cards she'd dealt.

"Maybe if I looked at them upside down it would change things?" she wondered, and did so. "Silly me, of course it does, but that's cheating."

"So, my Dark Prince is going to go to the Slayer. Foolish Spikey." Dru giggled. "But I can make it so much better. If the Slayer gets my sweet, dark Spike, let her get all of him. The monster that lurks within."

Drusilla took down a small doll, shaped like Spike. "Hello, my poppet," she said to it, placing it in a circle. "I'm going to cast a spell on you. The Slayer may get you for now, but it will bring her pain, misery and destruction. You will ruin her life and destroy her friendships by the time you're through, my sweet dark one. I'll teach the Slayer what it means to have my Spike in her life."

Drusilla started the ritual on the poppet. She giggled again and clapped her hands in joy. "This is going to be so much fun! How much misery and suffering you will bring to that Slayer! And, when you've chewed her up and spit her out, you will come back to me again. Slayers don't live very long, and I'll encourage you to be the one to end her."

Bit late sorry.

D

Dawn thought the Buffybot was a terrible idea, why did she have to live with a walking, talking reminder of what she had lost.

Would it be so bad to leave Sunnydale and live with her dad? Away from that robot, and all the memories of the past.

Every night she wished she had been quick enough to jump or just brave enough to tell Willow how much she hated seeing that thing that was pretending to be her sister.

Every morning she got up, looked in the mirror and pretended she was find. She knew Spike saw through it, but she knew he wouldn't speak about it.

Onto E.

E

Is for "Earshot"

Joyce was fussing around Buffy, trying to get her things to make her comfortable in bed. "How, uh, about some soup? Chicken and stars?" she asked.

"Mom, please, just come sit with me."

"Um, I've, uh... I've got laundry," Joyce stammered.

"Why are you... You had sex with Giles? You had sex with Giles?!"

"It was the candy. We were teenagers," Joyce explained.

"On the hood of a police car?"

"I'll be downstairs. You feel better."

"Twice?!"

Then Buffy heard her mother's thoughts continue. Don't think about the handcuffs. Don't think about the handcuffs. She remembered her teenage-acting mother producing a pair of handcuffs to restrain Ethan Rayne. "Oh god!" Buffy said. Then again, louder, "OH GOD!"

"Sorry..." Joyce whispered. "I thought about the handcuffs."

"And now I know what you and Giles did with them! Demons, vampires, mummies, monsters trying to take over the school I can handle. But that? THAT?! Oh god... please go away. I just heard you think 'And it was so much fun.'"

All that was missing was a big red button for Joyce to press on the bonnet
I've struggled with E, I've got a rough draft of one written but I might change it.

Now then nightshade, if it is so bad, just tell us someone else sent it to you, I'm sure Anyanka the Bunny Slayer won't mind, just don't mention I suggested that. And if you are okay with doing that I'd like to do one by ChaseRules . . . . . .

Eventualities

Eventually, Buffy confessed to her mother than, there was an upcoming parent- teacher night at the school. After Spike crashing it last year, then her getting expelled and her mother finding out about her being the Slayer, she really did not want to have to mention it. However Buffy knew that Hoyce would find out anyway, so she just had to do it. Be brave, tell her.

Something was bound to go wrong though, and Buffy kinda hoped for vampires again. Anything that would stop the chat between her mother and Snyder. However nothing short of Snyder being killed would stop that meeting, and as much as she hated it, she couldn't let him become a late night vampire snack. She didn't have a choice, she had to face up to it, her mother and Snyder would be talking about her.

As I said, don't like it, but it's an E.

Onto F!

Anya returned home to the apartment to find the lights off and only candles lit. Xander was sitting on the couch near the window. "Hi An," he said.

"Xander! Why are all the lights off?"

"It's July the 4th," Xander told her with a smile. "It's your birthday!"

"I made that up! It was just to make the Watchers think I was human!"

"I know, but I thought we'd celebrate it as if it was your birthday."

"Exciting! I love presents! Where are my presents? What did you get me?" Anya looked at Xander who still hadn't got up to greet her. "And why are you still sitting down? You should give me a birthday kiss!"

"I'm still sitting down because this next bit is less painful for me if I'm seated." Anya gave him a puzzled look. Xander reached into a bag next to him and retrieved something. Anya recognised it. "Isn't that Toth's..." she started as Xander pointed it at himself. There was a flash of light.

"Happy Birthday, Anya!" the Xanders said.

Anya beamed. "Best. Present. Ever."

is for Giles

Of course.

Giles glanced at Willow's laptop, which was open and on, though a screensaver was running. Idly, he touched the keyboard to see what was on it, then gazed at the screen in horror. "Oh dear lord," he said, frantically hitting the keyboard, trying to get rid of it. All that happened was that the video started playing. Loudly. "Oh dear lord," he whined... just as Anya walked in.

"Ooh," she said, on hearing the sounds emanating from the laptop. "What are you watching." She rushed over to see for herself. "Interesting," she said, tilting her head.

Then Buffy and Xander arrived. "Hey Giles, what..." Buffy started, before trailing off as she, too, heard the sounds. "Um, what are you doing?"

"Giles is watching smut on Willow's laptop," Anya told them matter of factly. "Come and see!"

"I, I, I..." Giles stammered.

"Um, no thanks," Buffy said. Anya peered closely at the laptop. "Xander, you need to watch this bit," she told him. "I will want you to do that later. Well, soon." She thought for a moment. "Very, very soon."

"You know I'm a man, right?" he asked, looking at the screen.

"It does not matter for this."

"I, I, I..." Giles stammered again.

"Relax, Giles, I know you didn't bring it up," Buffy told him. "You are too useless around computers to have done it yourself. I'll turn it off."

Buffy went to do that, something she couldn't do without looking at the screen. "Aww,"Anya complained, when what was displaying went away.

Not what I want to watch, Buffy thought to herself. I can see why Willow would, and Xander, 'cos he's a man, and Anya 'cos... well, 'cos she's Anya, and Faith... Why the hell did that make Faith pop into my head?
