Just a reminder that even though custom avatars are allowed now, they still must relate to the Whedonverse.

Please make sure you upload a picture that is large enough (if it doesn't fill the avatar space in posts, it's too small).

Directions for using avatars uploaded to the Media Gallery are in the Help section, category "Avatars".

Also, if anyone wants their avatar from the old board, I have all the pictures, so just post here and I will get that uploaded for you. Please check that yours is not already made and in the Avatar category of the Media Gallery before posting your request here.

I only have a box coming up that asks me to browse for the image - I can't simply paste it in from the link. There is no place to browse other than the usual computer drives and it is not stored there, so I don't know how to transfer the image to the avatar. The gravatar is of no use for this.

If you go to the media icon (camera in the task bar) you can browse the old avatars. Click on the pic you want and on the top left, above the image, there's an icon to use the picture as your avatar 🙂 Took me a while to figure out hihi

I'm afraid I'm not understanding how to get my avatar back. The profile page only has an option to upload my own, or use something called "Gravatar." I'm not seeing any link to the old media gallery. But, I have a feeling the site is not loading properly in my browser. (Everything seems to have a little box next to it with random letters and numbers inside.)

It's not the old gallery, the new avatars are in the new gallery on this site. I typed up some directions here: https://buffy-boards.com/help/avatars/

If your old one is not in there, then you post in this thread asking for your old one to be uploaded, and I will make it in the new size and add it to the gallery.

There doesn't seem to be any Anya avatars? Mine has disappeared. I've looked in the media gallery. I had one of Anya in the bunny costume.
