Can you feel the changing climate?

I saw a glimpse of an interview where they were saying people from Queensland are migrating to Tasmania to escape the heat. I would do the same if I could!!!

But this is going to be an issue cos really they should be building better infrastructure to deal with the heat rather than forcing people to move to cooler areas with less facilities. The sun is worse here too so we need spaces in the shade for activities but so much is based outdoors when ever cooler countries have indoor activities.

I have to get stricter with myself about suncream cos my face is constantly burnt lately. Time to find the headscarfs again and cover my cheeks! The dot on my nose is not good either but i cant get it removed yet. Waiting for a skin cancer bus to come out.
 
I want to escape the heat, I miss the rain. I'm praying that this is not the future for our summers.
 
We will need to start investing in ways to counter the heat if it is. Shutters will perhaps be more effective than AC.

If you're starting to get temps over 38C you really need air con, especially with humidity, its deadly!

We aren't reaching those kinds of temps as yet in general; the problem is that the houses are designed to keep heat in once it's in, and windows have to comply to regulations that mean that they are much more energy efficient than they used to be. Once that heat has gone through them, it's not getting out again that easily, and closing your curtains doesn't stop the problem because they're inside the window. Stopping heat from getting in helps more, and it's much easier to put shutters up than add AC.

We're back into another heatwave, and more fields burning, thankfully no wind blowing the smoke over today.

The country is mostly in a drought, so crops will be affected, meaning food prices higher over winter. Animals are having to be supplemented with feed as the grass has all died.
