But neither Buffy or Spike is my favorite character. They are not even close to be my favorite character. But I love their relationship and their scenes together

You are very indecisive on that, aren't you
Yep
because I clearly remember some of your posts from your old account where you were harshly criticizing Spuffy. So seeing you suddenly say you're a Spuffy shipper just baffles me.
Actually.I am not really Spuffy shipper. They are nowhere close to be my OTP but I start to like their relationship because I love Buffy fandom. But I need to choose a side(Bangel vs Spuffy) to join and enjoy the fandom and as someone who ships Cordy and Angel so hard.Spuffy is more ideal for me.

Why do you NEED to choose a side ? It’s not against you but I find the word « NEED » very strange as if you were forced to do a choice. Don’t feel obliged. If neither of theses relationship are appealing to you then choose neither of them. If you feel nothing good when watching Bangel/Spuffy then don’t be ashamed to say it, it’s an opinion, it’s yours and you have the right to say it ! 😀

This fandom obsessed with compare Bangel and Spuffy. And There are extremely few people who don't ship either(Fuffy shippers). And I am not Fuffy shipper either.I ship Tillow,Xanya and Cangel. And I enjoyed their fandoms. So I can say myself as a later season shipper.I also prefer later seasons on Buffy.I also love Angel. These "later season people" usually ships Spuffy and as someone who don't care either Buffy or Spike. This ship is more acceptable for me.

And thanks for your kindness

Honestly not everyone is great as a couple, I agree with your ship preferences. I love Spuffy but I think some writing errors definitely spoiled it. I think Buffy and Spike are better without eachother at the end because of said errors as well as the conditions towards the end. I do think they had good chemistry if they didn't let conditions prevent them as well as if there weren't writing errors. I think Buffy genuinely made Spike a better person and Spike supported Buffy in ways that nobody else would. But as I said, the writing errors and conditions could never have let it last long term.

Yes, Spike got his soul for Buffy, to be the man she "deserved." Buffy was the reason he did it, but I'm not sure we can truly credit Buffy for that. She didn't ask Spike to get a soul. In fact, when she finds out he got it back, she's visibly disgusted, and clearly pities him for it.

Buffy called Spike her "dark place," meaning he has seen the worst of her. She can be "alone" with him there. When Buffy was resurrected, she was drawn to Spike not only because he didn't pity her, like the others did, and he understood what it felt like to come back from the dead. Spike supports Buffy in every way he can. Whether its emotional support, or backing her up in a fight, he's always there for her.

I can fully agree, that's part of the reason I don't think it worked out long term. At the end she says "I love you" but her past actions say that she doesn't love him or doesn't love him enough. I do think she truly loved him but she let other's disapproval and other factors stop her. I think part of it was denial because when they first met he literally tried to kill her. Since then he had tried to kill her many other times, this may have made her view of him worse than Angel in some ways. Her actions showed more than her words in some instances where she said she would never be with him then proceeded to be with him. I think there were writing errors in the portrayal of the one sided open love and the conflicted love from Buffy's side. Overall, it just wouldn't have panned out with her conflicted feelings. She thought she should hate him, everyone told her she should, but she loved him. That's how I understood the situation in simple terms.

Buffy loved Spike, but wasn't in love with him. She didn't realize she was until later, when he was already gone. Of course that's just my opinion.

It will be interesting to see what you think regarding Buffy and Spike in S8-12.

I mean I don’t ship Bangel or Spuffy and believe that neither of these relationships are actually good for Buffy but I do think that they both had a place in her life. I also think both Angel and Spike grew more on Angel’s show even if they did both originally have the desire to do good because of Buffy and I also hope that Buffy grows without them after the series finale.

They have such a complex relationship I don't know if it was love or maybe like kindred souls just...connecting?
