Sequel Trilogy

Okay so I finished this last night, and it became this clear middle-of-the-trilogy novel by the end. The conclusion only served to set up the final book, and that was kind of a let down. There was a nice twist at the end, that I hoped for, but didn't think was going to come.

Does it have an Empire or Last Jedi-style ending, where the bad guys win? Or is it just non-conclusive when it comes to story arcs

Non-conclusive. The ending literally is just a set up for the third book. No true final battle. Just the characters all preparing for a final final battle..

Sounds like a load of crap.

"Frankie Rosenberg is passionate about the environment"- what's the odds she has blue or some other weird colour hair and regularly protests as an "activist" that can be described with 3 letters.

"teaching her magic on the condition that she use it to better the world"- because all Frankie wants is world peace and for everyone to just get along with rainbows and unicorn stickers. What's the odds Jake the werewolf is black and he becomes Frankie's friend after she uses her powers to save him from a white hunter masquerading as a cop or something that pedals the narrative that black people are being hunted and need "saving" which is popular amongst the woke mob. Also given that Willow tried to destroy the world with magic, it's a bit rich and hypocritical for her to be all like "you can only use it to better the world".

Given that Willow's her mom, either Frankie's adopted, Willow had IVF and used a sperm donor or Willow stopped being lesbian long enough to sleep with a man and get pregnant. Take your bets.

I'm guessing the "hot but nerdy" sage demon is going to be the love interest. What gender do you think it will be or will it be the mythical "non-binary"?

Frankie Rosenberg sounds like a Mary Sue.

Okay, I'm currently reading book 3. She's not adopted, willow didn't use ivf or a sperm donor, and willow's sexuality is still lesbian. (I can tell you exactly how she had Frankie, if you want, but it's a kinda major spoiler so I'm not going to unless you ask me to). I only include minor spoilers here.

Jake isn't black and she didn't save him from a white hunter. Not all of the characters are white,though. I will admit that there is only one black main character in book 1 and then one more in books 2 & 3 (the nerdy demon, who's actually a half demon, and his mother)

Jake and Frankie grew up together and became friends because they were the only people their age who knew about slayers and evil and vampires and people tend to bond when they have secrets like that and can't talk about them with other people. But that's not to say that neither of them has any other friends.

Also, Jake is Oz's cousin. Oz moved back to Sunnydale before the book began. Jake is Jordy's younger brother. (As in the werewolf that bit Oz).


And Frankie is not a mary sue at all. She messes up a lot.
(She accidentally stakes herself in the leg, at one point).


Oh, also, if you haven't realize it, THE AUTHOR'S NOT WHITE! because I based on what you said about her book, i feel like you assumed that she was.
