Taake reads old Buffy books

So I got my editions of the Gatekeeper trilogy in the mail today. The seller listed them as Very Good. These are BRAND NEW editions that came in plastic sleeves.

I cannot wait to read them! Often on old editions there are creases in the spine. Or the spine is bent from reading. But these feel like they’ve never been read, or read only once.

I am so excited to read them!

I remember starting the trilogy about a decade ago. But I never finished it, and ended up selling the copies I had in a move. But I’m so glad I did because these are better copies!!

I really enjoyed The Gatekeeper Trilogy! It did exactly what the books should do, did stuff that would’ve been cool to see on the show, but that wasn’t feasible to make on TV.

I do like how Holder & Golden start storylines and characters in this trilogy that permeate their other works. For example, Lucy Hanover comes back multiple times in the novels. They collaborated on a few books, so it really makes the novels into their own continuity. I’ve noticed some reviewers of casual readers don’t like references that are from the Golden-verse, if you will, but I love this special “Easter egg” continuity from the lovers of the Buffy novels like us!

Agreed, I just started reading The Lost Slayer and Lucy appeared. I forget she isn’t part of the show canon!
