Intelligence is overrated. I like the wild fan theories and obsessive passion.

I learned about shipping here. I learned about fanfic here, which lead to the twific fandom and time of my online life. I learned about manips/AI art here, waaaay before it was the cool new thing IRL.

I learned that people can be kind on the Internet here. I cut my teeth on horse forums, which were far worse than you can even imagine. This place is a paradise in comparison. Even at the height of drama.

I learned my aussie accent comes through even in written form.

then you must be American 😉 ... I've always found it's mostly Americans that find other English speakers hard to understand. The rest of us where English is spoken are used to dealing with every accent from Kingston to New Delhi to London to Canberra to Wellington to Pretoria and beyond... not to mention all the regional accents and variations.

But to her point... as an American... who watches WAY too much "foreign" English-speaking reality shows... and whose husband insists we use subtitles to watch these shows... I... agree... Americans are terrible at "owning" a language that derived from our colonizers. 😂

First and foremost, my opinions on the shows themselves.

When I joined the board, Spike was my favorite BtVS character and now it's Xander (hugely due to sosa lola's passionate posts). I shipped Spuffy, which I no longer do (I still appreciate them, but that's about it). And on Angel, I've learned a new appreciation for Angel as a character, my favorite character once again shifted from Cordelia to Wesley, and I've come to really enjoy Wesley/Lilah for the writing and to not be so quick to judge a storyline I don't necessarily love on first viewing.

This has been a big one for me. I have definitely changed my opinion on certain things, and/or seen characters in different ways after reading other's posts on here.

Since joining the BB I have also discovered just how much I actually love discussing TV/Movies on forums like this. It has led me to joining a few other discussion boards as well.
