Week 10: Willow one-shot

Forgot to add that this one-shot is subtitled "Goddessess & Monsters". And if you have the Twilight TPB, read it first, even though it's at the end of the TPB. It was published before the Twilight issues, we're reading in chronological order by publication date.
My thoughts:
-Especially considering the recent final HP movie, the intro with the Hogwartish panels are hilarious!
-"That term is offensive. Or maybe it's empowering- I can't always keep up." Despite Willow being definitely & unabashedly gay, she is and never has been into the political side of things. This resembles the old more innocent Willow.
-So this journey thing she's taking, I'm assuming they're trying it into Giles' explanation to Angel in "Shells" that Willow is an another astral plane and can't help them. I think the timing matches up, with Kennedy just assuming the job of leading the NY Squad.
-Again more panels that illustrate the insecurity in Kennedy & Willow's relationship. For some reason I didn't see it in my first season 8 read, but it's very obvious to me now.
-There's a lot I don't understand about Willow's storyarc in season 8- 1st in TOYL then here. "You have to live within if you're to truly work the wound". What "wound" is she talking about? Does it have to do with Tara's death or Willow's attempt to destroy the world? Willow blaming Buffy?
-"Saga Vaguki- you thrive on chaos"
-The pop song titles- also very Willow-y.
-I love all the Goddesses; they're all so different & very interesting!
-It's so sad to see Tara, and then Willow chooses not to have her as a guide. I wonder how different her path would have been if she had chosen Tara. "She was my light. She was my order. She was my journey. Completed."
-Aaaand now it's done. That was short. I wish we knew more about Aluwyn's "team".

I felt it didn't give me the answers I was looking for and it was mostly me going "wtf?" most of the time.
Plus, the flowers yeah, okay I get that, but the trees aren't particularly feminine if I remember the comic right. So what are they supposed to represent?

I agree. The entirety of season 8 left me with a lot of questions WRT Willow. I think they'll explore it more in season 9. Season 9's going to be really hard for her!

I haven't gotten many of the TPB's for the season yet and somehow missed buying this one shot. I really really want to read it though. I ordered it today so it should be in sometime next week. . .

Alright. Got the TPB today and read this.
LOVED the HP panels. Stared at them for a while. Pretty sure that little cat is McGonagall. And I am happy about that. 😀
I also found a lot of this issue to be a little confusing.
Song titles were great and I ended up having a couple of the songs stuck in my head for a while after I finished reading the comic.
Loved to see that Willow is still thinking of Tara and what she meant to her, and what Tara's place was in Willow's life.
Pretty interesting.
