What if there was no WF&H liaison, or if it was Hamilton from the beginning?
 
Without a liaison, W&H would probably have found it harder to manipulate Angel.

I think Hamilton would have engendered much more suspicion in his actions. Sure, they were suspicious of Eve, but for some reason a small, pretty woman engenders less suspicion than a physically imposing man.

On thinking about it, with regards to Lindsey, no Eve would have made it much harder for Lindsey to enact his plans against the Senior Partners. No liaison at all would have made it much harder, and I suspect he would have found it more difficult to seduce Hamilton to his side...
 
Eh, I understand Eve as being an entity like Nylarthotep, Cenobites, Dawn or a Nazgul/Ringwraith, an ancient thing who bears a name like "The Temptress," who can and has been reincarnated to serve the Partners, and that Hamilton is more like their "Kratos," but both are bound to the service of the Cult. So, I suppose the real question should be, it they were going to seduce Angel, what route would they have taken? Challenge him in a Children's Card game?

my big question has always been what would they have done of he'd taken up their offer of shutting the place down.

Yes, Eve seemed softer, while Hamilton was more hard-core committed to the Senior Partners and no-nonsense.

I would place her well below Nyarlathotep, but a Nazgul, a powerful servant of a greater lord, does make sense. I think any seduction of Angel would have been more the things he wanted, the same way they got him to W&H in the first place. That would probably be an offer that would allow him to do good in the world.

What a horrible thought - mind you, as it is, the morning could begin at midnight so technically speaking, with no eve(ning) the morning could have begun at about 4:30 the previous day.
What a thing, for vampires to wander about in the morning!
 
Lilah would have been superior in every way. Her mission to seduce Angel while still caring for Wesley. Her side quest for emancipation. Her collaboration with Lindsay. All of it would have resonated with the themes and history of the show. Except, Teenage boys are notorious for having no interest in women who are older than they are. And the Network wanted the show to skew younger.

You never heard of cougars? Teenage boys usually get rejected by teenage girls unless they are in the top 10% of desirability whereas when a cougar approaches you, you have already been accepted. From what I hear, of course. There is no personal experience on my part, nope, none.

Well, I don’t know about teenage boys, but It’s been my experience that younger guys in their 20s are often interested in older women.
 
No, never. Which is weird, because I've had the eternal 40 look since I hit 18. But then again, I have other theories as to why Season 4's ratings cratered.
