Wolfram & Hart - The Key

I would add him in, but I'm not the worlds best banner maker. The one I have in my signature is as good as I can do lol.

Michael slowly began to regain consciousness. He knew he was in Angels' apartment, by the smell, and that he was in Angels' bed, by the feel of it. He could sense someone in the room with him. They were laying right next to him. He thought it would be Fred, Harmony, or Eve watching over him. He was wrong.

"I got knocked out again, huh? It's beginning to become a habit or something." Michael tried to stretch his arms and legs, but he couldn't. There was something around them. He opened his eyes and looked at his legs and wrists and saw that he was chained down to the bed. He turned his head to the left and looked into two eyes that could scare anyone senseless.

"I never thought you would wake up." Angelus laughed. He moved on his side and propped his head up on his hand. "You know that the side of good is so unbelievably stupid?" He stood up and walked over to the side of the room and picked a sharp knife off of a shelf. "I guess none of you pay attention."

"What?" Michael could only babble, he was to afraid. "How did you lose your soul?"

"I didn't lose my soul." Angelus was suddenly next to Michael. He slapped him hard on the face, and instead of taking his hand away, he cupped Michaels' chin. "Now, pay attention because I am going to have a test afterwards, and if you fail, then you... well you die..." Angelus ran the edge of the blade up and down Michaels' chest. "Ok. I know that your brain cells must be soaring right about now, but try to keep up. The Hellmouth is teaming with powerful evil energy. Any demon that goes in one is automatically so much stronger. The First got a power boost so much that he could possess good people against their will. Now, speaking like Angel, I'd say something like: Angelus is the demon deep down inside of me. So, think about, and here is your only test question." Angelus poked him with the blade to remind him that he would actually hurt him. "How did I become Angelus?"

"When... When you were in the Hellmouth... The energies made you stronger.... and you were able to over power Angel." Michael said nervously. "Please don't kill me."

"Oh, don't worry." Angelus kissed the top of Michaels' forehead, to which Michael tried to pull his head back. "I'm not going to JUST kill you. I'm going to experiment first."

"Experiment?"

"Ooooh yeah." Angelus held the knife to the bottom of Michaels' shirt. He quickly cut the shirt in half with the knife and pulled it away. "See, you aren't a real human. Your blood is different. I'm going to use you as a guine pig, and if you are better than normal blood, then maybe I'll make you a vampire... that way I can have your blood whenever I want."

"You basterd." Michael looked around the room. Where was Spike? He was always around when he wasn't needed, and never around when he was.

Angelus could almost read his thoughts. "Spike isn't here, Michael. Even if he was, he couldn't stop me. I'd kill my Childe before he could make a move." Angelus slowly started cutting a shallow cut on the bottom left side of Michaels' stomach. "Remember how you made that Spike and Angel joke, about us getting together? I think you were right, I'll probably go pay him a visit... after I pay Faith a visit too. I just can't wait to get with her. Slayers blood is such a power booster. And sex with a Slayer is better than anything else... Buffy taught me that... Faith and Buffy... I should write that one down..." Angelus moaned, thinking of the possibilities.

"You sick basterd." Michael said, as blood poured out of his body, soaking the bed. He had to do something. Maybe if he got Angelus angry enough, he would just kill him. "Wait a minute. You are a basterd... aren't you?"

"What are you talking about, boy?" Angelus glared down at him.

"I read the book about you. It was in the Wolfram & Hart Library. It said that your real mother died (I'm just making that part up) and that your father hated you. So, if you only have one parent, and he doesn't even like you, that would make you parentless... a basterd..." Michael spat his face.

"...Now you got me angry." Angelus gripped the knife in his hand again and brought it down on the upper right hand side of Michaels' stomach. "I think I need something to drink. Oh, and thanks for being afraid and all, it makes your blood punk faster." Angelus jumped on top of Michael and dug his teeth down into Michaels' neck. He began sucking the blood from his neck as he moved his hands around Michaels' bloody stomach. He pulled his mouth away from his neck and looked down at him. "Now, I'm going to leave a message for your friends." Angelus looked at his bloody hands. He'd write the message in Michaels' blood on the wall, like he did to Buffy and so many other people. "What do you want it to say?"

"Chair...."

"Chair?" The next thing he knew, Angelus was cracked over the head with a hard wood chair. It broke over his head and Angelus tumbled down to the floor, unconscious now.

Eve hurried over to Michael and unchained his legs and wrists. She looked at his bleeding neck and the two wounds on his body. "I have to call 911." Eve ran out of the room and dialed 911. "Please let them get here in time."

12/27/03, Las Angeles Hospital, Emergency Room #15

Michael was lucky Eve had a key. She saved him. Saved him from me. The ambulance came and took Michael away, and all I could do was watch as Eve explained to me what happened. She read up on me during office hours, and she knew I wouldn't remember anything that Angelus did. I did. I hurt him. Nearly killed him.

Angel looked up from his journal. He was sitting quietly in the shadows. Fred and Harmony sat on both sides of Michaels' hospital bed, watching him. Michael was hooked up to a machine or two, and he had IV in his arm. Currently he was sleeping, although his face could spell pain. Angel gripped his pen tighter and started writing again.

There's been a central theme with keys lately. Dawn was a key. Michael is a key. Eve had a key. What is the definition of a key, really? Something that unlocks something. Something wanted. Something needed. I've seen many things in my time. I've been many things as well. A human. A vampire. A drunk. A warrier. A demon. A stalker. A fighter. A lover. A friend. A father. A worker. A brother. A hunter. A bringer. A thinker. A feeler. A killer.... A killer... I've been so many things, but killer seems to be the worst thing I've been. Everything else had some voice of logic and reason. A key to knowledge. A key to time. Time. There's that word again. Time. Time for the past. Time for the present. Time for the future. One beautiful idea spoiled by a worthless soul. A thoughtful gesture can be destroyed. Everything can. One person, one thought, one action can ruin something for someone. I've done it all the time. Time. Now is not the time.

Angel put his pen in his pocket and closed his journal. He stood up and walked out of the hospital room, dropping the adoption papers in the trash bin as he left.

The End

Oh! i forgot how to say how Angel got back. You could probably guess, but since Angelus wasnt around the poweful Hellmouth energies, Angel was able to fight back and take control.
