In this weeks tinder matches - one told me he could see and talk to dead people and then got weirded out when I said I am a Christian.

Another said I would attract less weirdos if I put more selfies up. UM no. I dont want AI to steal my face. One selfie is enough. My memes are accurate. ALL of his photos had a billion filters.

38 year old desperate widower asked me to move in with him after 4 messages and be his domestic house slave. Felt a bit sorry for that one. I have no doubt he will find someone soon in this housing crisis.

Three separate truck drivers offered to show me their sleeper bunks. I told them all to stop being so cheap and go hire hookers.

One offer of a nude pool party with pizza. Tempted.

Its more entertaining at this time of the year since everyone is off work and making new years plans. I shall be tucked up in bed by 9pm on new years eve, not out kissing toads.

That’s the worst. “Be genuine” says the person that has so many filters on a picture that it may as well be a piece of fiction.

well, i tore apart my closet and now all the clothes are in disarray because I have no idea how to put it all back... and what to leave out. and i discovered there's a leak in the ceiling at the back of the closet... sighs.

It's snowing bits of ceiling... merry coughmas.

I really hate having adult problems and being the adult in the room.

I really hate cell companies. they are so exploitative. Then again, I remember when there were no cell phones and i had to call my home country long distance instead of just using whatsapp for video calls. So, modern problems, eh?

I had my first mobile for 17 years (b/c it worked good and i had an excuse never to text - which i now do like a champion, but still hate!} I finally canceled the first phone service (mostly because all the numbers were gone from my phone digits and no one else could figure out how to use it)

I got a smartphone & better service with the competition for about 1/2 as much.

(The 17 year old cell still works... and I still sometimes miss it because it went all day on one charge and sometimes longer)

I'm on my 2nd 'smart'phone in 6 yrs and probably about to buy phone number 3 - not because i want to but because the 'newish' one (two years) is beginning not to work right. Nothing is made to last... or even to work in the short term.

Verizon (my original company) still gouging others. I think they want us back.

Yep, a few of those oldest cell providers are still providing cell service... though some of them have been renamed or are owned by different people. Nope, loyalty is not rewarded. Only intertia why i haven't changed my car insurance.

Yeah, the electric companies keeps trying to get me to buy new service. I haven't seen a good reason to change... they don't seem to be offering me special offers, just telling me they're 'better'.
 
Odd day today. The temperature dropped dramatically. It was welcome after the heat of yesterday, I got a lot done in the garden under the cloud cover. Its amazing how much the brick town soaks up the heat. Even though the air was cold and wet today on walkies, the concrete and brick buildings were radiating the heat they had sucked up from yesterday. On days like today, I love my glorified tent house. I just opened the windows and the inside temp was the same as the outside temp in no time. Sometimes I do consider putting insulation in the roof- but I need a man to do the ladder and roof bit.

Steady stream of text messages and visitors all day. I know my neighbour will drop in tomorrow if I dont go see him first, so hopefully I do not forget. And hopefully I do not eat ALL of the muffins before giving him some.

The grocery order was minus all the things I was excited about. No substitute for turkey, mangoes and caramel tarts 🙁 at least I have bread and I am happy with that, until it hits me in the guts and then I will be less happy about that. I was just craving it so bad!

Looking forward to my dreams tonight. I didnt sleep well last night with the heat, so tonight should be bliss! I have excellent dreams.
 
My step mom sent me some really old family photos which I've never seen before. There's one where I'm four, sitting next to my brother, who was two. Wow, I was such a cute kid!

Haven't spoken to my sister in three months. I'm just TOO done with her drama and attention-seeking behaviour. Imagine someone who refuses to share family photos that they're not even in! Specifically photos of me. That's just crazy.

Visited my mom today.....just to avoid seeing my sister, other brother, and stepfather tomorrow. Brought a framed copy of that pic with me and my brother and set it on the nightstand. Just to remind the "others" that my brother and I will always be mom's favourites. Very pleased with myself! I managed to see mom and avoid family drama.
 
Yep, my legs are killing me today haha I still have half a loaf of bread left.
Neighbour got here before I could go there. I still had muffins left. He wanted to check on his roof handywork anyway where he fixed it for me. Hes having a boxing day lunch tomorrow, possibly with the cricket on in the background, so I shall go over there with the other horse people. Kicking myself for forgetting to buy alcohol now. The pub will be shut til the 31st and I am NOT going driving on the highway at this time of year.

Unfortunately one of my other neighbours got put into hospice this week. We were all hoping he would come back from the hospital, but I learned today that his legs and hands have turned black, so there is no coming back. My closest neighbour also just got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and a spot on her lung, but shes in her mid 90's so at this point the docs arnt going to do anything for her anyway. Her sister is in the big city with bowel cancer (again). I hope good people buy their homes when they all fall off the perch... I got lucky with my neighbours but now they are all dying. Another one asked me to feed her horses if she goes in for a hip replacement, but at 80 I wonder if she will come out of it. At least I feel useful with this lot, they always like my cooking and my dogs and give me lots of garden advice. I'm finally getting used to small town life and its all going to change again once they die off 🙁
 
Well it now looks like I'll have no broadband until the 20th, but I have remembered that I've got a bit downloaded from Netflix so I can watch those as well as reading books. I've also got an actual radio so still have music playing. However I really should find out how much data I have on my phone.

Yesterday was a nice content day. I'm hoping to have another one of those today 😀
Got a special meeting today on zoom, so tomorrow I can spend the whole day frantically cleaning before the landlord comes on monday to put the new dishwasher in.
 
Went to get KFC and mashed potatoes. I left super early to avoid traffic. It was soooo cold outside! Well, while I was driving I noticed A LOT of smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. I thought something was on fire, so I hit my hazards, and pulled over. Had a massive panic attack! Called a Chevy dealership; they said my engine was probably running hot, and the cold weather caused the billowing of smoke. Whew! Thank God I called them.

Just googled. Says it's 60° in LA? That's cold? 🤔 it's like 20° here! 🥶
 
Walking around town this morning was like walking in a picture book. So pretty and perfect. There was no one out, absolutely deserted. It does scare me when it is that quiet and still, because I worry about loose dogs and no one being around to help. There were 3 loose dogs in my street this week, all at once with two charging us, but at least I was at my front gate by then. Today was good and easy, no dogs in sight.

The birds are so funny, they are all fat from the grain and can barely get off the ground. I love seeing all the different families. The pink and grey galahs seem to gutz themselves the most. The rainbow lorikeets fight them for space in the reticulation puddles. The magpies rule the roost, they are a much smaller family and dont care much for interacting with the other birds. They squark at each other for little bits of bread and sausage they find at the park. The crows have cleared out, there was quite a big family here for a little while, but they were always at war with the magpies. I see the crows occasionally tap tapping at the glass at the town hall, but they havent been around much the last few weeks. The little tiny birds are so tiny, I cant even see them on the grass until they move. I have no idea what they are, they are so fast and so small, but they have such a pretty song. I accidently trapped two in my grape nets this morning, but they got out when I flipped the net up for them. The black cockatoos are still in town, they are HUGE and just represent summer to me. Its nice to see them as they are so rare now, with only a few flocks left in the state. Some of those birds would be older than me.

Just finished up in the garden for the morning. I have a few more little jobs I want to do but the sun is starting to bite now. At least I can still play with the pond on the patio since it wont be too hot today. The house is cleaner than I realised. I had a little look around to see what I need to do, and there is really not all that much. I'm sure I will find more, just to avoid the dishes in the sink.

Havent had breakfast yet. Toast is such an easy option, but I know I pay for it. Oh well, its better than cooking and cheaper than salad. Lamb on toast with tomato chutney does sound delicious.

Pondering what to put on the tv for barkground noise today. I love the sound of the birds on a quiet sunday, but the dogs bark at every dog or voice they hear, even if its 3 streets away. So its easier to put the tv on so they dont find things to woof at.
 
I had a date and it went very well. We’re going out again next Sunday

It is nice to be back in normalcy after a year or two of hectic chaos

Good to hear it! A lot of people have given up on dating.
Ok. So yesterday kind of sucked! Spent half the day in the hospital! Been having gas issues last few years
Been in a rough spell past few weeks. This week was having some new odd off & on pains as well
Chalked it up to more of the same, but they just didn't feel right. Yesterday they became extra troublesome
So left work early and went to hospital. Still no signs of cancer, thankfully. Dr said might be muscular inflammation?
Once again they're like we don't know WTF is wrong, but here's some drugs & we'll see what happens, I guess?
