Not a bad day, good weather so spent all morning up at the allotment, then had a good procrastination session this afternoon. Which I'll complain about tomorrow!
 
I saw an interesting exhibit of Ai Weiwei's art today. Amusingly subversive at times, confusing at others.

My dad's answering machine wasn't working since a power outage. He of course wanted me to tell him how to fix it from afar. All I could suggest was to unplug and plug it back in. But yay, that worked. "Turn it off and on" for the win!
 
I decided to take a warm shower at 3am since I was already awake. For 20 luxurious minutes, I indulged in rose oil body wash and Caress soap. It was heaven....until I got out of the shower. Couldn't dry myself fast enough, I was so cold. Of course I had to apply lotion like I always do. And the lotion was cold as well. 😄 But mission accomplished!

Daylight Savings Time needs to abolished. It makes absolutely NO sense, quite frankly. I feel sorry for everyone who'll be late to work because they didn't set their clocks ahead.

This is why we have phones and computers that set their own clocks!
My kitchen clock is the only non digital one I have and the battery has gone, but I'm not getting that clock to sort it when I'll have to do it again later this month when the daylight savings happen.
 
Oh my God. I dyed my black jeans to make them blacker...in the laundry room. Thought I was being stealthy, but the universe had other plans. As the machine started, black dye began dripping from the door and detergent dispenser. Went all over the side and bottom of the machine. Oh, and the floor too.

I ran back in the house to get bleach spray and paper towels; thought that would take care of it. Nope! Right after I'd wiped everything down, MORE dye dripped....and kept dripping. After going through an entire roll of paper towels, I gave up. Yeah, I'm sure no one will notice a white laundry machine with streaks of black on it. 😋

I finally had to do something about the flush valve on the downstairs toilet. It was making a lot of noise when it refilled, enough to wake up everyone in the house. That was three hours I will never get back, but the new flush valve is in and appears to be working well. I had to tame a few leaks, but it is finally operational. You have to be a contortionist to do that particular job on that particular toilet because there are side walls on the toilet around the valve so you have to work with mirrors.
 
Rain is so relaxing! Its like all the tension leaves me as those good ions come on down. Its so lovely and set to continue for a little while tonight. I hope it sticks around so I can fall asleep to the sound of it on the roof #Bliss!
 
It's also raining like hell here and I LOVE IT. In fact, it woke me up an hour ago. The wind is howling...and again, my door blew open. (But I'm fully dressed this time!) Checked the weather reports, and the wind is clocking in at 12 miles per hour, west southwest. Really good time to be indoors. 😊

I have absolutely no plans for today.
 
Pretty good day! Worked early half day. Now off for at least 10 days! Yay moi! 🙂
Then nabbed lunch at Condado's Tacos. Turned out I had a $10 off rewards
So had a $4 dollar meal (tip included)! Then I finally found some new sneakers.
 
I have a doctor's appointment at 10am, and it's supposed to be raining then. I really hate driving in the rain. One of my windshield wipers doesn't work, plus SO many drivers continue to speed and run red lights. Doesn't matter that my truck is huge, those idiots will suddenly cut me off, even when it's raining.

Way too cold to shower right now. I'll just sit here, drinking coffee and watching YouTube until it's time to get dressed.


Edit: I showered anyway. 🥶 Seems that whenever I say I'm not going to do something, I usually end up doing it.

I ate my dinner at lunch time and now don't have anything out for dinner. Maybe I will go to the pub for dinner, if its not too busy.
It looks like I was lucky my pond didn't overflow in the rain. I tied some of the shadecloth out so rain wouldnt run down into it, before it hit. The pond is very full now, but the fish seem ok and I'm probably better off not fussing with it if they have survived the rain so far. I bucketed some out to water the plants that are undercover, but it didnt lower the water much haha.
Dogs got a wet walk this morning. The oval was a wetland, complete with wading birds! But they have been quiet all day after all those good sniffs.

It looks like the new owners have kept the same menu - Surf and Turf, Chicken Parma, Chicken Neptune, T-bone steak, Lamb chops, Fish/fishermans basket, Burgers - all served with salad and more chips than one person can possibly eat!
I'm not hungry enough for any of them yet, but the kitchen doesn't open there for another half an hour anyway. The power wasnt off long enough for me to be concerned with the quality haha.
 
I expect the eclipse of the moon early this morning will give us new tales of disaster that I will be doom scrolling through later. It only happens with a full moon and we all know when the crazies come out.

It's called the Blood Moon and I lit a red candle in celebration. It's a very witchy time. ✨✨ ✨
