Its changed a LOT since season 1. We've gone through a few judges with scandal and death. I prefer the Jock, Andy, Mel era over the three men judging, but I also love the current seasons with Poh as a judge (who was second place in season 1).

I'll focus in on those seasons, if I can find them somewhere. If they hook me, I can always work outwards from there.

This is how I've been treating MasterChef the last bunch of seasons, since I started to sour on it a little. I'll watch a few episodes, and if it gets me, then I'll finish the season. I don't commit to it anymore. It's lost the trust, to paraphrase Gunn.

but I dont think I have since those cute tassie truffle farmers were on it a few years back. They made the shops sell out of lamb backstrap for months!

I think I remember who you're talking about (it has been a few years, and my brain is not as young and energetic as it once was—sometimes it has trouble with long-distance runs.)

There used to be a show named My Restaurant Rules and we actually went to the Restaurant that won it. Had to line up down the block for it, but was a fun night out.

It sounds like it could have been. I'm not big on crowds, in general, but I do love socializing over food. Maybe it's my parents' fault. They were big on family meal time. Or maybe I just like food and it makes people more tolerable. Maybe both. If you ever want me to do something, food and coffee are the appropriate bribes to apply. Anything else would likely be illegal. 😉

I adore Australian reality tv, it used to be head and shoulders above the rest of the world. Survivor is the best one 😉 I am not so keen on love island or farmer wants a wife types. The Traitors is about to begin so we'll see how that goes with its new host! .

I'm always open to suggestions, new or old. I'm not big on reality television as a whole (me, I love some escapism), but some of it is pretty great, so I have a relatively open mind on the topic.

Do you watch other reality or just the cooking ones?

I don't engage with reality television broadly, but there have been things I've tuned into over the years outside of the cooking genre, like "Top Shot," "Churchill's Secret Agents," "The Circle" (season one), and "Married At First Sight" (season one, with my best friend), for instance. Mostly, though, my reality television intake is limited to food/cooking-based shows like "Cutthroat Kitchen," "Kitchen Nightmares," Wolfgang Puck's "Open Kitchen," "Master Chef," and the like. Though I'll watch basically anything with Gordon Ramsay, at least long enough to see if I like it ("24 Hour Kitchen," "Hotel Nightmares," that one he did in the prison, etc.).

By the by, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, 'Ember. I meant to. Time just slipped away from me and then my swiss cheese brain (and if you get that reference, you win all the points) forgot all about it. Mea culpa. 😉

I was just driving on the motorway behind a car with a windscreen so badly cracked I could see it from some distance behind them; it was cracked in half! I can't think that that was safe, or probably even legal, as a hard bump might have caused the windscreen to completely shatter.

Yeah, this has definitely happened to me a few times, Slayer. Usually to songs with really catchy beats, because that keeps your brain from needing to focus too much, right?

"Cherry Lips" by Garbage is an example. My first few listens, I hadn't paid too much attention to the lyrics. If you know the song, then you know what a surprise it was when I did. 🙂
