1/12/09 - 1/10/09 Episode Discusison: Five by Five

Love this episode for many reasons, but mostly because of Faith's breakdown in Angel's arms in the end.

Their fight in the alley was so hot and heated, with Faith so angry, and Angel trying to keep her at bay. But when she finally snapped and asked Angel to kill her, because she was evil, I thought that was one of the most emotional scenes of either show. To realize that everything Faith had done up until that moment she'd done to anger Angel enough to kill her. Suicide by PtB Champion.

This scene always makes me wonder just when Faith finally found her senses. Was it in the church in Sunnydale, when Buffy swapped their bodies back? The train to LA? Before? After? I've always wanted to know. We know Angel helped Faith to save her from herself, but did Buffy put her on the path?
 
I always liked Five by Five but I felt it did kind of run slow at some points. Mostly the "Wes Tortured" scenes dragged a bit. But other than that, It was great. Angel catches an arrow, Wesley vs. Blowtorch, and Faith and Angel beating each other senseless until that final alley scene between them. who can forget sound of raindrops happening once the credits appeared.
 
I think Five by Five may be my favourite Angel episode. 😀 I absolutely love it. It represents everything Angel is - redemption, and having the chance to redeem yourself. Having Faith torture Wesley was such a huge moment on the show, and I love the shot near the end when you see Wesley with the knife in his hand. You knew he was willing to kill her then. I can't think of a single bad thing about this ep.
 
This have to be my favourite episode in season one. And the episode there I really started to love her character. And going back to the older episodes it kept that feeling. Before this she mostly bugged me. It´s a good thing things can change.

I can´t really choose a favourite scene but if I have to I think I´d go with her breakdown in the end while Wesley comes down. But her trying to get Angel to play was enjoyable moments too.
 
this is probably one of the best episodes of Angel...of course the last 5 mins with Faith and Angel fighting and finally Faith's break down are the reasons for this...Eliza Dushku really proved her great talent here!when she was screaming "kill me i'm bad" i was shaking and i had tears in my eyes,i realised that Faith was asking for help!
It's important that finally Faith has made the realisation that she has done many dark deeds...but Faith is prone to suicide as i have noticed(in orpheus of season 4 she was ready to give up in the mind walk...it was Angel again who pulled her back and convinced her to keep fighting for redemption!)
Also the beginning of a special bond between Faith and Angel...cause he was only one who figured out why Faith did all this torture to Wesley,tried to kill Angel...she wanted to die...she didn't think she was worthy enough to live after everything she's done...Angel really understood her!amazing episode!
 
One of my favorite and one of the best episodes of ANGEL. The last scene was amazing. It's also my first episode in the whole Buffyverse. I was shocked about the last scene the first time I saw it. I thought she's super evil and wouldn't ever break down like that. That's why this episode is so impressive.

But I love Sanctuary more. I'm not fond to Angel's flashback very much. 😛
