10/21/08 - 10/28/08 Episode Discussion: Expecting

I really need to rewatch this again but what can you do? I should be glad sis is finally watching but the dvd´s are so far away... And no hulu since I´m living in the wrong country. 🙁

First of all. Worthless monster? Check and discussed already. Got nothing else to contribute.

Cordelias first time? Doubt it very much even if the whole not having slept with Xander confuses me. But that dicsussion really don´t belong here.

Cordelia getting pregnant in season 4 can of courese be seen as continuity. But it was something that they just had to put in since Charisma got pregnant. Evil Cordy was planned, her getting pregnant wasn´t. But once again not a discussion that belongs here.


This is far from a favourite for me. Wes is basically what keeps me from skipping it all together. And I can´t but laugh:

Wesley: Wesley Wyndham-Price, Rogue Demon Hunter. And I'm here to fight you, sir, to the death -- preferably yours.


And we morale of this story? Never trust a rich, charming, good looking guy. They´re evil!!! 😉

Okay, here's a new question. If Cordelia claims that her and Wilson were 'safe', then how did she become impregnated with the demon spawn? The demon can overrule any forms of protection? Or she was under a spell making her think they were having safe sex?

An another. A girl in Cordy's (I want to say her name is Serena) is the one who set up the dates with the boys. And she's the one who tells everybody where they are going. Was she in on it? Did she know that they were not right?
 
Was Serena not also pregnant with the same demon?

I think yeah, the demon can overrule any form of protection, I don't want to know how though..

Also, I love Cordy's pregnant/dungarees look she had going on at the hospital, very cute.
 
I felt like this episode dragged at points. I liked the story with Cordelia and all but it was done in quite a boring way. But it did have some great Cordy-growing moments.

Cordy: "I learned something, too. I learned, uhm, - men are evil? Oh, wait, - I knew that. I learned that LA is full of self-serving phonies. No, - had that one down, too. Uh... sex is bad?"
Angel: "We all knew that."
Cordy: "Okay. I learned that I have two people I trust absolutely with my life. - And that part's new."

Oh and everything Wesley does in this episode is pure comedy gold. :biggrin:
