Time to discuss the episode She. What did you like or dislike about this episode. I know that everyone liked Angel and Wesley's dancing at Cordy's party. I hope they do not dance like that in real life! 🙂

Thanks to all the participation last week. I hope we have just as much interaction this week! 🙂
 
I am in so many ways going to be told how wrong I am, but this is one of my favorite season one episodes and maybe even a series favorite.

To me, this episode is what Angel was all about; first and foremost a detective show. His trying to figure out who was frying the men, tracking them down etc etc

The heat between he and she (to stick with the title) was exceptional I thought. It spoke towards the character of Angel. She could burn any man with her passion yet he soaked it up. In Angel, she found someone with whom she could be with. I like the subtle effects of the heated air moving and swirling around them.

It also had some classic comedy moments, such as Angel trying, and failing, to use a cell phone. The broken conversation between he and Cordy was priceless. And his review of the painting in the gallery.

In the end it featured a sympathetic Angel yet one uncompromising to risk those around him.

I have been waiting a week, since I saw expecting being reviewed, to speak upon this episode. It is a favorite of mine.

Now.. hurl the rotten fruit at me!

Oh I didn't like this episode much at all. I thought the metaphor was really overdone, and fairly dull overall. I would skip it completely if I wasn't so obsessive about seeing all the episodes in the correct order, hehe. But - and this is a big but, you better move out of the way - it has the brilliantly funny party scene with the dancing! And this moment from Cordelia.

Angel: "Really, ah, fun party last night.
Cordy: "I'm so glad you came. You know how parties are. You're always worried that no one is going to suck the energy out of the room like a giant black hole of boring despair. But there you where - in the clinch!"

i really liked this episode, i gotta agree with scabbybro dude, it was set up as a detective show and this was a fantastic example of it. and yep the dancing have we ever got over the dancing.. i think not

Okay, funny dancing aside, this is one of y least favourite episodes. One of the few Angel episodes I really skip each and every time (along with that cautionary tale one from season5). There was just nothing that kept me wanting to see more of it, not even the first time around.
 
i can never skip any episode of any show when watching thru... and especially would never skip a buffy or angel episode on a watch through... they are all great, even the not so great....
 
Overall, I really dislike this episode, and I have no idea why. I think it might be because of the 'She' of the title. I don't like Jia (sp?) I thought her character was flat and lifeless, her chemistry with David just wasn't there, at least, I didn't see it.

I love Wesley and Angel's dancing, and putting it over the end credits was a great move.

I loved Angel's lack of ability to use a cell phone. The 'bored warlock' line was hilarious.

I'm not a great fan of most of the S1 eps, with the exception of a select few. I think they were still trying to find their place in TV land, and, to me, this one just missed the mark.

I think the episode was okay.... She wasnt all that, I think she was actually ugly xD, but it was cool to see Angel "interacting" with somebody else.

One of my favorite parts is when Angel is "teaching" at the museum... It was so cute and charming he knowing Baudelaire and showing him in the paiting, saying the "Le Vampire" poem, and the funny part, the quote "he was a little taller and a lot drunker"... *_*
 
I wouldn´t call it a favourite of mine but I certainly don´t hate is as much as many seem to do. It moves along quit nicely. It starts of great with the party and ends with Angel trying to mush the coffe beans. 😀

I love the continuity with the cell phones. It never stops. Funny thing. Computers, even though some characters hate them, seems to be seen as a "good" thing in the shows. But cell phones, with the exception of "Lessons" (Buffy), don´t seem too popular. Some technology are good and some are bad.

And how can you not love Angel being a guide at the art gallery?

During the whole episode you have Wesley trying some major sucking up. He develops so much in the series. It´s fun to see his goofy side though, pathetic as it is.

The whole "man having power over women" thing is an important issue but gets kind of lost so you don´t really concentrate on that.




And todays swedish lesson. "Ko" means "cow"...

There´s a reason I stay away from the dancefloor. I´m like Angel, trying to be the "cool" quiet one. But failing big time of course.

Which can have a lot to do with Bai Ling. Doubt she was brought in for her amazing acting skills. Not that I find her that hot either but I know others do and I think that´s the reason she got the part.

OMG! I loved that part angel was like spazing out. XD

and the way wes trys to pick up girls with his sweater talk. lol
then angels little talk with denis that was funny.

then he met up with that demon chick and I think angel had to take may cold showers!

not to metion when angel tried to smash coffee beans and then they go all over the floor and wes comes in and slips on them then says that hell have them hand washed and....well he basically sucks up to angel.

This is actually one of my favourite episodes from season 1.

I absolutely love Jheira, I really wish they could have brought Bai Ling back for an actual arc. The chemistry between her and David was HOT(I was going to say electric but I'll save that for the Ground State discussion).

I was a little fuzzy on the premise of the demon guys keeping their women under lock and key and I wasn't widely impressed with the way it ended but I did feel there was scope to do some further stories here.

The sad thing about Angel was that sometimes it didn't finish a story such as this, or Kate Lockley.

Still, you have to love it purely for the dancing.

I agree, I didn't like her either, she was weirdly annoying, I kinda wanted to punch her face alittle..

BUT, of course, I love 'She' purely for the dancing. *dances away*

Recently, i watched the angel episode on your tube and i like that episode...don't know about lead actor's name but he done his better on movie...i would like to watch another episode of this movie.
 
I think this episode is great. So funny! I love the part at the beginning at Cordys party where Angel dances...priceless. And Wes is a riot about the sandwiches...
