I got a question 🙂

I once heard somewhere that they used the real house in Torrence to film all the house scenes in season 1. If so, i couldn't help but notice that there are some differences. Like, from the kitchen, there seems to be a corridor, we see a bit of it when buffy leaves for school. But in later seasons, it looks like the dining room leads directly to the kitchen. Also, the top of the stair case seems to be different.
Basically, i just want to know if the interior of the house, both upstairs and down are exactly as they appeared in the series? :')

Elliot 🙂

I heard that they only used the utside of the house to film. Maybe they used the interior at first then got a set, or just changed the set?

I was watching one of the Special Features disks on one of the Buffy DVD's. They said that they used a real house on Revello Drive to film the first season. In later seasons they re-created the house on set so it matched perfectly. The inside of the house was constantly re-arranged. Also, Remember that there were always fight scenes in the Summers house in the first few seasons and after season 4. So I'm assuming they thought Joyce would change the house around a little to make it less noticeable that tables, chairs, and cabinets had been destroyed. That's just a guess. Either that, Or they changed it with out paying attention to the fact that fans would notice. lol.

I didn't know that! I'll have to watch some special features! Thank you for sharing. :)
Yes, they did. It's on Coda Dr. I believe. The inside of the house was a set...mostly. I know that the owner of the house said they actually had David Boreanaz's stunt double crash through her dining room window haha. But they needed an exterior shot of that so...makes sense. There's a website where she talks about the experience, of having them use her house for 7 years. If you search "Buffy's real house" maybe it'll come up.

Also, here's a picture of the real house that I took a few months ago because I am a creep.....

It's not the best photo...but hey, I took it on my cell phone, I was in a moving vehicle and the trees are a bit overgrown.

"Buffy freaks are taking photos daily, love. Shall we refrain from maintaining the shrubbery and just hope it grows over us?" lol
