Thanks for making me cry!
16 made me tear up, I love Giles. I'm still really mad at the writers for what they did with his character in s7 and beyond, they lost the charm of Giles being the father figure.

I love this list. I was really angry for the writers and the way they destroyed Giles' and Buffy's relationship later into the show. 🙁

They didn't destroy their relationship, it was natural progression, people don't require father figures for their whole life, unless they're overly dependent people, and Buffy couldn't afford to be overly dependent.

Although, given her multiple mistakes in season 7, perhaps she could have done with being a little dependent.

I think my problem isn't that he stopped being the father figure, it's that they almost completely excluded Giles from the gang. Especially after that whole s6 ordeal and Giles realizing he needs to leave Buffy for her own good (which I disagree about by the way), it'd make sense that he wouldn't be as fathery. They started the season great by having Giles mentor Willow, but then it seemed like no one even cared about Giles, like really, none of them even hugged him after not seeing him for a few months. I'm not asking for some big lovey dovey scene, but I wish we would have had more than that.

I'd agree with that, Giles should definitely had a more pivotal role. I still think he should have been the leader, he was obviously the most qualified person for the job.

I guess we see it differently... I hated the way they made Buffy choose Spike over Giles, after all they'd been through together. And then in the comics, as far as I'm aware, they never got any closure from that before

We definitely see it differently in some respects, but I'd agree with you there, Buffy choosing Spike over Giles was ridiculous.
