Topic: What if Kate had not disappeared after Epiphany? Could she have been a real love interest for Angel? Part of the Fang Gang? What about the Connor arc later on, would Wes have actually trusted her? In general though, what would she have brought to the group?

I personally think that she would have been a really good addition to the main team. She was sarcastic, but courageous. She was also tough, but had trouble to open to others or show emotions. I think her character could have gone through big changes(ala Wesley). Maybe becoming a great friend for Cordy? Also... If she had been there in s5, then we wouldn't have got that damn Nina with Angel. 😛

To conclude, I think her character was wasted. She just had that awesome scene with Angel in ''Epiphany'' and BAM! She's gone. Wtf? What do you all think?
 
As I told you, I haven't seen all of Angel. But I did really like Kate. I thought, when she first appeared, she'd be a love interest for him. (What is it Cordy says about small, blonde women and Angel?) She was pretty, strong, and very stubborn. Perfectly his type. I thought they'd do more with her. I kind of feel she was a forgotten character.

I wish they would have had an unrequited love arc go on. Either Angel for her, or her for Angel. That would have been interesting to play out. It seems like Joss had a purpose for her, and then she was forgotten.
 
She is okay at times, I don't really have anything against her. I just don't think she should have been a regular cast member or in the Fang Gang. They could've kept her a little longer, but she wasn't missed after she had gone.
 
As I told Zalos, I think that someone would have killed her. Quickly. Why? Because she's annoying.

it seems that all Angel women have to die: Fred, Cordy, Lilah, Darla, female demons...

Buffy too, going along with your spoiler. I liked Kate, but I can see what you mean.
I liked Kate and thought she could have become a semi-team member if she had stayed. I have trouble picturing her actually going to work for Angel but I do think if she had stuck around that her and Angel would have remained friends and that she would have helped whenever she was needed. I doubt that her or Angel would have developed as a love interest, but I can see them become good friends.

I think that having Kate around during Season 3 would have been an asset. Since Wes decided he couldn't trust his own friends maybe he would have reached out to Kate since he knew she had always had doubts about Angel. Kate probably would have helped Wes with his plan and I doubt she would have trusted Justine so maybe her, Wes and Connor would have safely gone on the run and disappeared for a while.

I have to agree with Zalos; I think they could have done more with her character.
 
As we know, Kate left after trying to commit suicide. How do you think she would have dealt with that, if not by leaving?

I think that the gang would have tried to take care of her, which could have helped them bond. Once she was better, I think she would try and become an officer again, or some sort of law enforcer. I think she could either help Angel like she did before, or turn her back completely and try to forget about anything mystical.

Yeah, I think Angel and the gang would have tried to take care of her and kept a close eye on her for a while after that. I can see Kate being a little reluctant at first with Angel trying to help her; but ultimately I think she would have come around.

I can totally see her trying to become an officer again. Maybe in a different precinct, but still somewhere close to AI.
 
Or becoming a rogue demon hunter. 😀 Basically the officer of the underworld! After all, after everything that happened, I'm not sure that the police station would want her to continue working for them.

I'm sorry... This past week was quite a mess for me, sick and then stuck in my bed for two days. Couldn't keep the interest here. Thanks to those who tried, very much appreciated. 🙂 I'll do a better job next time!
 
I would have participated, but as you know this went on while I was recovering with the flu. :\ Thanks for trying, Zalos, and everyone who replied! 🙂
