I don't know anymore
The playoffs start tonight, and personally I can't wait. The pens actually made it this year. There were a few times that I didn't know if they would make it. But we lucked out at the trade deadline again. Anyone else excited for the games?

I've never watched them in the past, but I might this year. I don't actually have a television at my house and watch everything on my computer and I know you can watch NHL on hulu. I've got sort of a sports itch right now since I wasn't able to watch much football or basketball this year, so I may have to check out the NHL playoffs this year.

Ah, our hockeyexpert. I never got to thank you for your comment last week so thanks for that.

So to the playoffs. Sure I'm excited. Of course as Rach know I hope for a repeat of last year. Detroit for lord Stanley! And no, got nothing to do with the amount of swedes in the team. That's just a bonus. It all began much earlier than that. Stevie Y <3

I hate the wings. Not just because the Pens lost to them in the finals. Hossa turning down a huge deal to go play with the wings are just nails in the coffin.
If they go out early it would be a good thing. The pens would have the hardest time beating them out of all the Western teams.
Like currently, the Flyers are the only team I was nervous about, they tend to have the hardest time beating them.

Unfortunately, I have no one to root for.

My guys(the Sabres)didn't make it and there is much gnashing and wailing of teeth in SabreNation over not getting in to the dance for 2 straight seasons.

Well seeing as how my Maple Leafs missed the playoffs for a fourth freakn' year! And ckg927 is worried about his Sabres missing 2 years?
I gotta go with the Bruins. I can't wait for this weekend either, my wife is from Montreal and we are going there this weekend so it will be sweet listening to all that "fine French whine" when they loose the first couple of games in Beantown this weekend.

That's understandable but does the hate go furhter back than that?

Well, it was more of a dislike. I don't like the teams that are universaly liked.

Right when I was begining to think that the Pens/Flyers game wasn't that dirty(as their usual games are) and then the last minute happened and the flyers didn't have anymore room in the box. It was a good game. And I can't wait for the next one. I love the rivalry between them. I'm kind of sad I don't live in Flyer country anymore. I want to rub the win in their faces.

what if i like them because they're part of my soul?
I'll be behind my New York Rangers. :: tu ::

I wouldn't pay too much attention to their relatively low standing on the Playoff totem pole right now. They're on a mission.

Hey everyone! I'm pretty new here but "The Kinslayer" told me about this. I'm all about the Penguins. *Shrug* It runs in the family. I was definitely in a bad mood last night. I actually missed the whole 2nd period too because my network I watch on cut out! For the whole period! It was truly traumatizing. . . . *shakes head*

We're a buzz today. First round - Detroit in four. Go Wings 🙂

4-0

I liked this part the best:

“If you make a mistake, Detroit makes you pay,” - Columbus coach Ken Hitchcock

Go Wings 🙂

So the semifinals are set as this:
Pens vs Caps- Going be good. The rivalry between Sid and Ovie should be all they are talking about for the entire round.
Bruins Vs Hurricanes- Bruins have this, the canes aren't going to put up much of a fight
Duck vs Wings- Stupid wings, yeah, they're going to win
Blackhawks vs Canucks- Not sure on this, didn't really follow either team much during the regular season

What are you guys picks?

Here's mine:

Pens/Caps: This ought to be a barnburner, considering you have The Next One(Crosby) v. The Sickest Player on the Planet(Ovie) on opposite sides. I'm taking the Caps in 7; I think Washington's ready to go to the next level.

Bruins/Hurricanes: Do I HAVE to write something? Nahh....Bruins in 5.

Hawks/Canucks: Chicago's got some good young guns(including Buffalo's own Patrick Kane), but the 'Nucks have Roberto Luongo. He's enough of a game changer in his own right. Chicago in 6 tough games.

Ducks/Red Wings: See Bruins/Canes. Red Wings in 5.

I can't stand ovie
Don't be so quick with the Wings in 5 ckg927 the Ducks not only beat the Sharks they beatup the Sharks. And last time I looked the Wings were a little on the small side. They may not shrivel but they are still sore from last years run and I would have to say this series is going 6 with a good chance of 7.
Young legs for the Hawks, dam are they fast!
Bruins/Hartford rivalry gotta say another 6 maybe 7. The Bruins bruises are healed with maybe a bit of rust the Whalers might steal a few.
Gotta go with the Pens. Washington should have handed the Rangers their lunch and the Pens have that other guy with Sid...Malkin. And the Russian goalie is getting a crash course in English which is going to rattle his cage.

Pens vs Caps- I have no idea how this is gonna go but I do know that I want the Pens to own.

Bruins Vs Hurricanes- I agree about the Bruins on this one. They's good.

The other two sets, I know nothing about. I don't even remember the last time I saw any of them play.

I'm pretty excited to see who gets the cup this year.
