Good for them! There's never been a royal wedding (at least, not in the UK) in my lifetime, so this is exciting! 😀

Peter phillips (Anne's son) got married a few years ago
We had a royal wedding here in Sweden, I think it was this summer, I don't remember. Our Princess Victoria married some guy from the gym or something.. It was such a big deal..
I don't get it, they're just people not gods, they don't do anything except living off of everybody else's money..

Yeah it was this summer and it was a nightmare for us who lived in the city. I completely agree, it's an overrated costly mess in my opinion.
 
I'm pretty sure that the - British, anyway - Royal Family bring more in through tourism than we spend on them, so the expense isn't really an issue for me. It's just...everywhere. Already.

The newspapers are going to be insufferable...

Oooh how exciting! Practically every little girls little dream right? Marry a prince and become a princess! It is enjoyable, I'll definitely be watching to see the dress and everything. I try to stay away from trashy media outlets so hopefully I can avoid most of the annoying media coverage.
 
Yay I'm so happy for Will and Kate. They'll make a great King and Queen one day. Having lived in the real world and all. I love that they met at Uni, its so normal...🙂

I wish it was that easy in the UK... Even some of the proper media outlets here still have a story about Diana once a week! I'm just going to go hide under a rock until she's Queen, k?

(I have to say though, Princess Catherine is a beautiful name.)

I'm more worried about the tabloid coverage. Their circulation has been in decline for years so they're bound to go ape-shit over this.

Still, I guess it brings William a step closer to being King.

And I have to admit, it'll be kinda cool having a King again.

The only thing that brings him a step closer is either Lizzie or Charlie dying. Also Charles (if all goes to plan) will be king first.

I'm not sure what's cool about having a king, the only difference it makes is to our lame national anthem.

Anyway yes the tabloids will suck, my point with the BBC was just that they aren't the tabloids. They are supposed to report proper news and the coverage given to an engagement announcement seemed a little excessive.
