A motion picture based on the show is scheduled to be filmed in 2008 and will likely be released in 2009.

I'm thinking it will be like the X Files one. It will be good, but how do you top the TV series?

Rumour has it that at least some of the action will be in the UK...

Sorry to burst some bubbles here but in an interview Kieffer has said there is no script yet or even an idea. The whole production and writing staff is concentrating on day 6. He did say they talked about some ideas during the last hiatus but nothing that is 'worthy' to the fans of 24.
Plus he stated that it takes 9 to 10 months to film one season of 24 and it would be pretty hard to shoot a motion picture during the down time. I got the impression the movie will happen after day 7. That's when Kieffer's current contract for the show ends.

Actually they are still filming the last few episodes. They wait until near the end of the season to keep the ending a secret.

Actually the cast only gets 2 scripts in advance so as they do not slip up and let out some info. For the final 2 shows they recieve 2 or 3 sets of scripts which are colour coded and sealed that they have to sign for so if some info slips out they know who did it. They really believe in shock endings that are to be viewed on tv not on the internet.

Just read this interview with Kiefer:

No 24 movie until the series ends: Sutherland

Kiefer Sutherland says a 24 movie won't happen until the TV series has run its course.

"We are so focused on the (TV) show right now, I couldn't even imagine that any of the writers have even thought about any of that," said Sutherland of the oft-rumoured 24 film.

"I think we collectively have agreed that will be the first thing we would do when we finish the show."
