25 Music Legends (With atleast 25 years Experience)

So I came across this and found it interesting how he chose his list of 25 and I'd love to see if anyone agrees with anyone on this list, if there's someone you think is missing, etc. So lets discuss it. lol

25 Music Legends (With At Least 25 Years Of Service) - List Of The Day

I personally felt that there were some key people missing on this list. From a non biased position I think that Ozzy Osbourne should be on this list for his contributions to live performances and heavy metal, I think that Michael Jackson should be on it for having the best selling album of all time, Frank Sinatra should be on it because he's one of the best selling artists of all time, and although this guy said he doesn't qualify because of the 25 years requirement, I think an exception should have been made for Elvis he's obviously a musical legend, whether he had 25 years to do it or not.
 
I pretty much agree with everybody who trashed this guy's list. While he has some certified legends there, some of his other choices leave me going WTF???
 
Al Green over Luthor Vandross?
Sprinsteen over Tom Petty?
Paul McCartney owes his fortune to George Harrison, IMO Harrison changed the Beatles.
And I just cannot see how Bob Dylan could be #1!?!? His body of work just does not have the musical influence that Roy Orbison has.
 
where's lou reed and eric clapton?! there should be more known females too, like joni mitchell. she is incredible.
personally i think bowie should have been higher up. so many people in the music industry today owe everything to him. springsteen too. i agree about ozzy being on the list...
dylan is rightly number one however.
 
I think the fact that they were only including musicians that "served" 25+ years in the music industry made this list boring for me. My real music legends haven't survived 25 years. Does this make them less important? Hell no. Sometimes it doesn't matter how many CD's have been released, how many years survived in the world, how many drugs taken, some people changed music and should be recognised for it.
For example, did John Lennon deserve to be left off a list of music legends based on his tragically cut short life?
Personally the legends in my life include Lennon, Kurt Cobain, Steve Jones, Johnny Marr and Morrisey, Keith Richards and Mick Jagger, Joe Strummer.
Even going further than that I could suggest a few people who I don't exactly hold a personal attachment to, but have changed music, Ozzy Osborne, NikkiSixx, Slash, Robert Smith, Elvis, and maybe even Tupac (despite hating all kinds of rap, he is a legend to many). Bands like Minor Threat who created entire ways of living and a whole new scene which lives on to this day? Henry Rollins who inspired a generation. All these people have been idolised by many people.
All just my opinion I suppose and lists like this are always going to encourage heated debate and personal opinion.
 
bob marley too. Tupac is to rap what beatles are to pop. he's a legend.
 
I agree, I don't like tupac at all... but many people would consider him a legend. I'm more against the idea of only including people that have a certain amount of experience in the music industry than who they have actually included. Also, these lists are always going to be biased and it will always be obvious what demographic constructed the list. I would guess a middle aged man wrote this one.
