Happy Pi(e) day!

What is your favorite type of pie? Do you like your pie hot or cold? With a scoop of vanilla ice cream?

My favorites are Keylime pie (no meringue, only a little whipped cream) and boysenberry pie served warm...no ice cream.

Savoury? SAVOURY? That top picky of Scotch pi and beans, the bean at mid left is deformed. Is it a deformed savoury bean?

or blueberry pie works as well... with vanilla sauce. I'll skip the icecream or the whipped cream. Hot or cold... it doesn't matter, it's always time for pie. Mmm, I want pie right now. I need to bake this weekend 😀

I love apple pie, with custard. Lots and lots of custard! Never cream or ice cream. To be honest, any fruit based pie works for me. I just can't shovel it in my mouth fast enough 😀 The only 'fruit' I struggle with is rhubarb (is it even a fruit, I don't think it is?)

Savoury-wise, it's always a good chicken and mushroom puff pastry pie 🙂
 
Mmmm cherry pie is my favourite, warm with ice cream, but I'll take coconut cream pie, or a key lime pie.

Savoury pies are good too, pork pies are good for lunches.

Why do they all have crusts? Why can't we just sit down and enjoy our fillings without being annoyed by those solid carbohydrate shells?🙁

They do have pies without the crust.
When all is said and done you can't beat a Cold Custard Pie with Whipped cream and a loose Digestive Biscuit base. It gives you a satisfying sound as you wallop it onto some ones face!
Scottish folk related to Gwennie Poohs get to have Cabbage flavoured Cold Custard with Haggis inspired Whipped Cream to slosh in a Sassenachs face.
 
I just had a Scotch pie about an hour ago. I struggled to keep it in my hands in 50mph winds. They have very sturdy shells though.
 
Did you have hot or cold baked beans with the Pi? If you had the hot baked beans you were meant to chuck them in the air down wind of a group of people (during the 50 mph winds) for the Pi's to be able to enter the baked bean surprise, fun package.
 
My favorites are pumpkin pie with whipped cream on top and Dutch Apple pie. Mmm sounds good. Lol. Also a pizza pie! Lol.

I don't really like savory pies (we call them pot pies). I don't like chicken pot pies but the roast beef one is okay.
