I'm playing catch up, please bear with me!
Day 1 - A show that should have never been canceled
There are too many to choose just one. Some from well over 30 years ago!!! Yes, to Firefly, but it's not even close to the top of the list... I loved Once Upon a Time in Wonderland 2013, to bring up a more recent one.
Some are so old I remember them, but not the names... a couple different stories about people who lived forever, both set in NYC New Amsterdam 2008 and Forever 2014-2015 (yes, there are two shows since with those titles, so confusing), Moonlight (the vampire one that came out right after Angel was canceled - I think it could have become something interesting) Anyone else remember 'The Storefront Lawyers' - 1970 or 'The Young Lawyers' - 1969-71? The second one in particular stuck in my mind b/c of an actor called Zalman King. Yes, I know, before EVERYONE's time!
I think I have a special talent for falling in love with (what I consider to be) fabulous stories, but which get canceled too soon, probably b/c the premises are interesting, but hard to build ongoing series on unless you are a really good writer. Sadly also, most are quirky shows on mainstream networks that just done have the willingness to give them time to be loved...
Day 2 - A show that you wish more people were watching
I want more people to be watching Punisher. I don't actually know how many people are watching, but it's the one of the the Marvel shows that seems to be the least tied in to the others going forward, so I'm not sure how many seasons there will be. I like the actor John Bernthal a lot (both of the male leads actually) and especially the interacting with the two men -- season one had a odd couple meets shoot em up vibe which I totally adore! Sadly, the character 'David' (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) doesn't appear to be in the second season.
For mainstream TV, I think I'd have to say Criminal Minds, b/c no matter how many people are watching, more is better as I really don't want it to be canceled any time soon. Since Buffy, it's my favorite show -- at least that's on the air (I really liked Stargate and a couple others, but they're all gone). Like with Buffy, I am totally invested in the characters and unlike most mainstream broadcast TV, I think the writing is awesome and unlike some shows, the characters have all grown and changed.
So many shows on Netflix or cable have smaller audiences, but niche popularity, and I'm glad for that. Many of them wouldn't make a full season on regular TV, but they develop followings hiding in the weeds, and some become huge hits.
Day 3 - Favourite new show
Probably Punisher.
Day 4 - Favourite show ever
You really have to ask?!! Buffy the Vampire Slayer... EVERYTHING else is also ran... and bring up the rear.
Day 5 - A show you hate
Oddly? (since so many people love it) Seinfeld. I hate cruelty based humor. I hate selfish people. So I find it to be petty and annoying and I don't like the characters much. There were times it was (is?) totally funny, but I laugh, then cringe, then feel slightly sick inside for enjoying it. I will not watch it in rerun. unlike say, MASH or to a lesser extent, Friends. Yes, a lot of old comedy has not aged well, but I don't have a visceral hatred to most of the rest.
Also hate reality TV and all political talking heads opinion shows, no matter which side they're on.
Day 6 - Favorite Episode of your favorite TV show
Oh, this is easy: Family (from Buffy, of course) I think that Family is a pivotal episode of the Buffy series - it integrates both Tara and Spike into the series in a way that changes things fundamentally for both characters, but it also illustrates what I love about Buffy the most -- the way that the characters can stand up for each other and for what is right. I also love seeing Willow and Tara dancing floating on a cloud of love magic.
Day 7: Least favorite episode of your favorite show
All from Buffy (of course) Normal Again, Doublemeat Palace and Gingerbread, which I mostly skip whenever I watch through the series. There are a couple others I'm not fond of, but don't hate enough to skip. I find it hard to watch some other episodes of Buffy (The Body comes to mind) but i don't hate them, they just HURT.
I am also not fond of most of season 4 of Angel, but the Angel series doesn't really qualify as my favorite show unless you count the Buffyverse as one thing.
